We knew it would be Disney (invites were sent out) to celebrate their 5th anniversary and Dembabies birthday, but according to reports, Mariah and Nick made it big by shutting down Disney land (or a part of it) !!!

Update: Half of the park is shut down for 4 hours and they are filming it (maybefor them only and we totally get it)

Do I know what’s going on at “American Idol”? I know what you know. But I also know what was said today. Mariah Carey, “American Idol” judge, is launching her new single not on the “Idol” finale but on “Good Morning America.” She’s booked for May 24th, eight days after the “Idol” finale. Carey is not scheduled to sing on “Idol” and she hasn’t all season.

Both Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez used “Idol” to launch singles a year ago. And Keith Urban has performed this season. But Carey has remained behind the judges’ desk, even though she has a single– “Almost Home”– from “Oz the Great and Powerful,” a major box office hit. Suffice to say, something is rotten in Hollywood. “Oz” was a huge hit. Singing the single on “Idol” would have been the proper synergy. Instead, “Home” disappeared and no mention of it was made on “Idol.”

Carey’s new single is going to be hot, too–it’s a duet with new star Miguel. But there’s a lot going on in the background. “GMA” is #1, and “Idol” ratings are the lowest they’ve ever been. It’s unclear whether “Idol” producer Nigel Lythgoe even wants Carey to perform. Or whether Carey, unhappy with the way the show has gone for her, would ever deign to get up on their stage.

Now “American Idol” still has four weeks to go, that’s eight shows. And on May 8th it goes up against “The Voice” on NBC– the ratings report the next morning is going to be wild. So stay tuned. And never bet against Mariah. She will be around long after “American Idol” has named its final winner.

Music fans might want to sit down for this: The rumor mill is spinning in overdrive that Miguel and Mariah Carey have cooked up some sweet R&B goodness for her in-the-works studio album.

Following the trail to how the rumor started takes a bit of sleuthing, and Miguel doesn't seem quite ready to elaborate. "Rumor mills? I don't know why fans would put that together. I don't know," he told MTV News on Tuesday at the Time 100 Gala.

The speculation has been fueled by tweets sent out by the parties involved. The origin of the rumor dates back to April 3, when Mariah tweeted about the R&B crooner's "SNL" appearance, sharing that she had recently run into him in the studio. Two weeks later, she tweeted she was mixing the album's lead track.

And then it all kicked into high gear Monday when sound mixer Fletcher Allison, who works for video director Joseph Kahn, wrote about being on set with the twosome in a now-deleted tweet. "Working on a Mariah Carey + Miguel video for the man Joseph Kahn," he wrote. "Wouldn't trade this for 1,000 Coachellas."

That same day, within a matter of 30 minutes, Kahn and Miguel each tweeted out messages that have some fans wondering if they are somehow related. While Kahn was excited by the cameo, he wouldn't confirm who it's from. "Lets do that again sometime. MOMENTS. So appreciative," the "Adorn" singer shared about, well, something.

And while fans are hyped to know the truth, Miguel won't confirm or deny the speculation anytime soon.

"I think it would sound beautiful. I think it's a great juxtaposition," he shared when asked what dream the collaboration between them would sound like.

He continued, "I mean I fell in love with Mariah Carey when she walked out of the pool in the 'Honey' video in 1997. That 'Honey' video, that was it. And I've had a huge crush on her ever since. And, so, if we ever do have a chance, you know all respect to Carey's husband Nick [Cannon], all love. I think I have a huge crush more on her as a musician, and I think it would be really great."

The story is in the online Hollywood Reporter. But on the face of it, it’s crazy. The story claims that Carey caught wind and threatened litigation. Not only that: the story says Lopez might perform on the show’s finale. I don’t think so. Carey and Lopez are not exactly bff’s. Lopez, working with Tommy Mottola after Carey left for EMI Records, helped instigate a dark time in Carey’s life.

The two have also at different times had the same manager, Benny Medina. There is no love lost there. Just not happening. For the record, off the record: Carly Rae Jepsen is on the finale. And Carey could perform, too.

Mariah Carey Enlists Miguel for New Song & Video?
Less than two weeks after praising Miguel for his pair of stunning performances on Saturday Night Live.

Carey first hinted that she had logged time with Miguel in the lab after boasting via Twitter about seeing him at the recording studio. Although she didn’t share any further details about the possible duet, she has since confirmed that the official lead single from her LP has been been mixed for its impending debut.

In the latest development, individuals close to the diva’s project have let it slip that new music is finally on the way. Carey’s makeup artists, Kristofer Buckle, stated that he had been on the set of an unnamed video shoot throughout the weekend while director Joseph Kahn followed shortly after with news that he just finished latest production. Carey’s close friend, media personality B. Scott, added that he was happy to meet Khan on the set.

However, direct proof was provided by sound mixer Fletcher Alliston, who clearly stated that he had been on the set of a Carey/Miguel shoot before removing the tweet.

Kelly Rowland has secured the ladies of Destiny’s Child for a track on her forthcoming album, Talk a Good Game, but she still has some outstanding collabos to lock down. With a nod to a Mariah Carey song that features Nas, she has big plans for a record she has yet to record.

“I have something I want Nas to be on right now,” she told Radio.com in a recent interview. “I just have to ask him.”

She went on to explain how Mariah inspired her ideal collaboration.

“I heard an incredible collaboration he did with Joe and Mariah and it felt good.”
