      Mariah's weight worries
Mariah Carey is determined not to get pregnant because she doesn't want to put on weight.

The 'Touch My Body' singer - who has recently been showing off her slim line figure in a variety of skimpy outfits - is reportedly in no rush to start a family with new husband Nick Cannon because she is so concerned about gaining excess pounds again.

A source told the National Enquirer magazine: "Mariah gets teased all the time about when she is going to have a baby - but she just looks at you like you said a dirty word and tells you that with her new figure, and how hard she always needs to work to keep the weight off, one pregnancy and it would be over!

"Mariah has got a great life - she is not looking for anyone, or anything, to change that. She would play a concert a month to support the world's starving children but a child of her own has never been her dream."

"Love Songs" compilation album scheduled for release on Jan. 20, 2009
From Keith Caulfield from Billboard

I reached out to Sony Legacy (the company's catalog division) and, at least in terms of what's on their upcoming release schedule, there isn't a Mariah Carey box set coming soon.

However, there is a "Love Songs" compilation album from the diva scheduled for release on Jan. 20, 2009. (Just in time for Valentine's Day!)

We're sure the set will feature many of Carey's best known hits, since many of them deal with relationships and love. The "Love Songs" series has been around a number of years now and usually carry a list price of $11.98.

Perhaps some of Carey's lesser-known gems (and b-sides) might make this album? Sure, it's doubtful, but you never know. And, since the album will be released Sony, it will likely only include her work that she did while on Columbia Records through 2000, before she left the label.

No "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" single in Belgian stores
Unfortunately, as Belgium was the only European country candidate for a physical single and as we don't make our cds ourselves in Belgium, the single will not be released in stores like previously reported.  Too bad our country depends on other countries!!!!!!

Mariah Carey’s Scream Startles ‘Tennessee’ Co-Star
Mariah Carey gets a lot of grief over being a bad actress — “Glitter,” anyone? — but she was believable enough to fool her “husband.”

Lance Reddick — who’s known for his work on “The Wire” and “Lost” and will be a FBI agent on J.J. Abrams’ upcoming television show “Fringe”– was cast late in the game for the upcoming movie “Tennessee” (”Honestly, they were going to go with a bigger name,” Reddick said, “but they lost that someone”). So by the time he was signed up as Carey’s character’s husband Frank, “I had less than a week before we started shooting,” Reddick said.

On his first day on set, he was slated to shoot a scene where Frank menances his wife Krystal, because she didn’t buy the kind of beer he wanted for his card game. Krystal’s a waitress who dreams of being a songwriter (at least the latter part is something Mariah could relate to). But she’s married to a state trooper who believes that since he pays the bills, she better do what he wants.

“So on my first day, the first time I ever meet her, I have to go in cold and grab her arm and throw her against the wall,” Reddick said. And while he was holding her by the neck, she screamed. Considering her multi-octave range, “I wouldn’t even want to begin to imitate how that sounded,” he said.

“I thought I hurt her,” he added, “so I stopped. I said, ‘Are you OK?’ And she said, ‘Hello? I’m acting.’”

Reddick was astonished. After that first take, they did the scene from start to finish a couple more times to get different angles, but since that moment, he’s had a newfound respect for her.

“She was so committed to being a great actress,” he said. “And she was.”

"I'm That Chick" on US radio on Sept. 2nd
All Access posted that  "I'm That Chick" is scheduled to go on Urban Adult Contemporary radios on Sept. 2nd.
No panic, this does not mean the track will be the next single, for the moment, it only goes to one radio format in the US.
Anyway, if this is the new single, it means LA Reid won the battle and even if the majority of the fans don't agree with that choice, we will support Mariah!

Da Brat sentenced to 3 years in prison

Earlier this month, I told you Da Brat may have to go in jail for 1 year after the fight which occured at last years Halloween party at JD's club.  If we look back at November 1, 2007 news, Da Brat was arrested outside of Atlanta, after allegedly busting a waitress in the face with a bottle of rum at Jermaine Dupri's Studio 72 nightclub where Janet Jackson and Mariah were in attendance.

Well, today, Da Brat has been sentenced to 3 years in prison, 7 years probation and 200 hours of community service, she also must get substance abuse treatment and a mental evaluation and attend anger management classes.

Mariah to perform live on Canadian Idol finale
Mariah Carey will bring her incredible voice to the Canadian Idol stage performing live on the star-studded two-hour finale Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 8 pm ET.

The most successful female artist of all time will be joined by John Legend, Hedley, reigning Idol champ Brian Melo and Jully Black.

"Viewers are in for a treat in what is shaping up to be one of the most spectacular Canadian Idol finales ever," said Susanne Boyce, President, Creative, Content and Channels, CTV Inc.

The Results Show will reveal the winner of Canadian Idol, after the Top 2 battle it out one last time Monday, Sept. 8 at 9 pm ET. For the second year in a row, Canada's new Idol will be male, with four men remaining in the competition.

It's the conclusion to a season that many fans are calling one of the best ever.

Mariah Carey is a multi-platinum, award-winning superstar who has been making hit songs since her album debut in 1990. With worldwide sales now exceeding 160 million albums, she is the biggest selling female artist of all-time. Carey has recorded 18 #1 singles, surpassing Elvis Presley's previous record of 17 #1 singles, and is now positioned as the only active recording artist with the potential to surpass the Beatles (with 20 #1's).  Carey's current album E=MC², which is her eleventh studio album, debuted at #1 on the Nielsen Canadian Soundscan Album Chart upon release.  It is the follow up to her 10 million-selling, multi-Grammy winning The Emancipation of Mimi.

"Just Stand Up" lyrics
Since last night, you had time enough to find Mariah, I didn't post the lyrics yesterday evening when I found them on the following site, it was more funny to try to find Mariah first, so here are the lyrics now:

Beyonce: The heart is stronger than you think
It’s like it can go through anything
And even when you think it can’t it finds a way to still push on, though
Carrie: Sometimes you want to run away
Ain’t got the patience for the pain
And if you don’t believe it look into
your heart the beat goes on
Rihanna: I’m tellin’ you that
Things get better
Through whatever
If you fall, dust it off, don’t let up
Sheryl: Don’t you know you can go be your own miracle
Beyonce: You need to know

CHORUS
Sheryl: If the mind keeps thinking you’ve had enough
But the heart keeps telling you don’t give up
Sheryl/Beyonce: Who are we to be
questioning, wondering what is what
Don’t give up
THROUGH IT ALL, JUST STAND UP!

Fergie: It’s like we all have better days
Problems getting all up in your face
Leona: Just because you go through it
Fergie: Don’t mean it got to take control, no
Leona: You ain’t gotta find no hiding place
Keyshia: Because the heart can beat the hate
Leona: Don’t wanna let your mind keep playin’ you
Keyshia: And sayin’ you can’t go on
Rihanna: I’m tellin’ you that
Miley: Things get better
Through whatever
Rihanna: If you fall
Miley: Dust if off, don’t let up
LeAnn: Don’t you know you
Natasha: Can go
LeAnn: Be your own
Natasha: Miracle
Carrie: You need to know

Ensemble: CHORUS
Mary: You don’t gotta be a prisoner in your mind
Ciara: If you fall, dust it off
Mary: You can live your life
Rihanna/Carrie: Yeah
Mary: Let your heart be your guide
Rihanna/Carrie: Yeah yeah yeah
Mariah: And you will know that you’re good if you trust in the good
Ashanti: Everything will be alright, yeah
Light up the dark, if you follow your heart
Mary: And it will get better
Mariah: Through whatever

CHORUS
Fergie: You got it in you, find it within
You got in now, find it within now
You got in you, find it within
You got in now, find it within now
You got in you, find it within
Find it within you, find it within
Everyone: THROUGH IT ALL, JUST STAND UP!

R.I.P Paul Starr

Paul Starr (48) has been found dead in his Los Angeles home.

He was the man behind the awesome make-up for Mariah's numerous photoshoots.  From The emancipation pictures to Glamour and very recently the pictures of Mariah on cover and inside the ELLE magazine.

Last July, he told in an interview about how he created this breezy look for the ELLE magazine.
SKIN:
Paul started by telling us that Mariah has "Absolutely gorgeous, flawless skin." Her skin needs hardly any prep because it is naturally luminous. All Paul used to prep Mariah's skin was a little bit of his staple, La Mer The Mist. "The highly charged waters in this refreshing mist help heal, hydrate and rebalance even the driest complexions...Marine and botanical extracts soothe surface irritations and gently relax dry lines to restore skin's appearance."

Next, Paul mixed a dab of Make Up For Ever High Definition Invisible Cover Foundation with Laura Mercier Bronzing Gel and blended it over Mariah's face with his makeup sponge for a soft, light, sheer bronzed effect.

BROWS:
Paul used his fave Le Sourcil De Chanel Perfect Brows Compact to shape Carey's arches. "The art of perfect brows is simplified with this all-in-one brow kit. Features three powder shades, mini tweezers and mini brush for professional results." Paul tells us this brow compact is a Must-Have item because it includes light, medium and dark shades that can be blended together to create any shade you desire.

EYES:
Paul lined Mariah's upper eyelid with Make Up For Ever - Eye Contours Eye Pencil in Black. And he smudged Make Up For Ever - Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Shimmering Plum along the bottom lash line. Paul added depth and dimension to Carey's eyes by blending a taupe eyeshadow from Make Up For Ever's - Matte Eyeshadow Palette collection across her eyelids.

To finish Mariah's eyes, Paul curled her lashes and applied Neutrogena® Weightless Volume® Mascara in Rich Black - to her top lashes only. Paul adores this mascara because it is 100% wax-free - so it creates soft full lashes without weighing them down with clumpy wax. He added a 2nd coat of mascara using, Make Up Forever Volume Mascara in #1 Black, to create even fuller lashes. Paul wanted Mariah's lashes and eyes to be the focal-point of the entire look.

Along Mariah's lower lashes, Paul applied one coat of Kevyn Aucoin - The Volume Mascara in Rich Black, which has a small, fine brush perfect for applying mascara to the lower lashes.

CHEEKS:
On Mariah's cheeks, Paul used Kevyn Aucoin - The Creamy Moist Glow in Tansoleil (a sheer apricot blush) which "creates a sheer wash of color on the cheeks. It gives a radiant youthful vitality to the skin and an instant healthy glow. This subtle blush is perfect for adding a slight flush of color." On top of the Kevyn Aucoin cream blush, Paul added NARS Blush (powder) in Orgasm (a peachy pink color with shimmer) for an added pop of color.

LIPS:
To complete Mariah's fresh look, Paul finished by lightly lining Mariah's lips with Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner Pencil in Nude Beige 1C (a light neutral beige) and then added By Terry Lip Gloss in Coral Pink (a colored balm) to hydrate, plump and create a shimmering finish to her pout.

Heroes comment: Let's hope everyone will have the decency to buy the single and not pirate it, it's even worse to steal a song for a charity, everyone of us, international fans,  has a friend or can ask on a forum, messageboard, site, to buy the track and send it.  Remember karma is a bitch......

Mariah live appearance on UK radio in September
According to Travis Baxter, managing director of Big City Radio - Bauer's network of 35 local stations across the UK -, two new Scotland-wide shows will be launched,  the 7pm to 10pm slot fronted by Radio Clyde's rising star Romeo, real name David Farrell, and the 10pm to 1am show presented by the same station's Gina McKie - will go live from September 15.

"A Scotland-wide show, broadcast from Radio Clyde where we have our most developed technology, will be better able to attract big name celebrities and that is what we feel the audience want. That is the reason we are doing this," he said.

The new show will launch with live appearances from singer Mariah Carey and Welsh rockers Stereophonics, Baxter added. He said he expected the audience for the earlier programme to remain constant with a "30% uplift" for the Late Night Gina McKie programme.

New equation in Carey’s life
Mariah Carey surprised everyone in the industry with her recent wedding to Nick Cannon. Despite her hectic schedule, SonyBMG Music managed to catch the diva in the Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo, Japan recently where she shares some insights into her work and marriage.

On shooting her next video I’ll Be Lovin’ You Long Time in Hawaii

"Honestly, what I do know is that I’ve never shot in Hawaii before except for my concert Around the World video which I loved. Anyways, the video is going to utilise a lot of beautiful nature you get in Hawaii. There’s another element to it that’s really fun, that I don’t think anyone else has done yet so I’m looking forward to that. By the way, Chris Applebaum (who directed Rihanna’s Umbrella video) is the director and I’ve never worked with him but I like his work."

On the secret of longevity in her music career

"By the grace of God, because I really do believe that nothing in my life would be possible without being someone who’s only operated by faith. As a little kid, in the society where I grew up, a lot of the teachers were not very supportive. They said it’s unrealistic to become an entertainer and told me to ‘just do your math work!’ and I’m the worst in math, and that’s why E=MC2 (title of her latest album) is hilarious because trying to do an equation used to really give me a headache.

"I really do believe [my success stems] from praying and believing in yourself. I will say that my mother, who’s an opera singer, was very supportive in terms of believing in me. I have so much respect for her and all the opera singers because it’s all about discipline, and I am the opposite of discipline. That’s one of the reasons I write my own songs because I can sing them however I want.

"I also think because I didn’t grow up with money, I had a lot of drive, and ambition, and I do believe that because I always felt like an outsider (we moved around after my parents got divorced when I was three) and I didn’t feel accepted for the most part as a kid. It enhanced my need to feel unconditional love because I don’t think that I ever felt like anybody really cared about me in terms of just being a regular human being."

On planning a family with Nick soon

"There’ve been so many lies, to put it bluntly. It’s not that I’m not planning a family, it’s just that I got to figure out what I’m doing with my tour, and all those stuff first. Because people would always ask me ‘don’t you want to have a family?’ and my point was, NOT without a right person who has the same type of mentality that I do, and who wants to raise the children in the same way.

"I’ll be happy to have children, but I don’t want to do that in the middle of some obligation that I can’t get out of."

Her inspirations to write songs

"It really depends on the song. I like to collaborate, and there are certain songs like All I Want For Christmas, I sat down and wrote it. It was really a simple song, but for the most part I just write the music on this little keyboard and then I write the lyrics. That kind of stuff is fun, but melody-wise, my brain works way quicker than my ability to play the piano. My process differs with whoever I’m working with. If it was an amazing piano player, I can sit there and sing them the chords I’m hearing, and then we write from that, and I’ll take it and add the lyrics. I love writing. Writing songs to me is 80% of what I do."

Her message to fans in Asia

"I’d like to thank them so much for everything, and honestly I apologise for not being there as much as I feel like I should have. I look forward to more moments of being able to go throughout Asia. I’m very grateful for their support and I really would like to give back. I love you all!"

Mariah Carey Admits What She Does Best
By Roger Friedman
Mariah Carey told me on Saturday night she does one thing very well. What is it?

"Dance."

What about singing? "Oh, that’s business," she said with a laugh.

The occasion was about the most elegant, laid-back event of the Hamptons season so far, and also the most private: a belated wedding party for Mariah and her husband, actor Nick Cannon, at the home of Island Def Jam chief L.A. Antonio Reid and his gracious, beautiful wife, Erica.

It’s the only party I can ever remember attending at which swans — yes, large white swans — were rented for the night and placed in the host’s beautiful pond. I didn’t know you could rent a swan. They come with handlers, in case you want to know.

The Reids’ lavish Bridgehampton spread is low-key, and so was the party, even though DJ Cassidy was playing old-school R&B in a simple makeshift party tent. I was talking to Mariah and Nick when the music got fired up, prompting Mariah to declare, "I’m going to dance up a storm. It’s the one thing I do really well!"

The one thing? Her legions of fans might beg to differ.

And Mariah did, indeed, dance to DJ Cassidy. She twirled and dipped and had a fine time. Meanwhile, the Reids’ guests chowed down at various stations set up all over their backyard — on four different kinds of gourmet pizza, the best fried chicken and mac-and-cheese I’ve ever tasted and a selection of Greek treats.

Guests included her trusty manager, Benny Medina; plus Mary J. Blige with hubby, Kendu Isaacs; Samuel L. Jackson and wife, LaTonya Richardson; Russell Simmons; Gayle King; Jessica Seinfeld; Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa; opera great Kathleen Battle; producer-director Lee Daniels; Universal Music Chief Doug Morris; Kerzner Resorts’ Jerry Inzerillo; and, oddly enough, Gwyneth Paltrow.

But back to Mariah and Nick. They are very cute together. He’s really in love with her — it’s quite obvious — and very protective. Mariah, who was married once a long time ago to a record executive, seems almost shocked to get so much attention. Good for her! Good for both of them!

Gywneth Paltrow and Mariah Carey Party in the Hamptons
Paltrow and others headed to a party at L.A. Reid’s Sagaponack pad for Mariah Carey and her new husband, Nick Cannon. For those who have been living under a rock, Mimi’s emancipation ended when she married Cannon, a 27-year-old rapper and actor whom she’d been dating briefly. Napkins at the party said “Summer of Love” and though some have wondered whether the marriage would last longer than that, the couple’s behavior on the dance floor suggested the relationship is still going very strong. “They were all over each other,” said one guest. “It was really cute.”

Mariah in Fashion Rocks Magazine
Over the years, many have dismissed Mariah Carey as nothing more than a freakish vocal acrobat. Her melismatic runs commonly hit a dozen or more tones in a single syllable, and her range pierces the whistle register; few but dolphins can sing higher. Some sneered at her weakness for hot pants and halters in the 1990s; others called Carey a lightweight because of her kitschy passion for butterflies and Hello Kitty. (She has described herself as being "eternally twelve" innumerable times). Yet in fact, Mariah Carey is Long Island's answer to Dolly Parton, a woman whose bodacious body and over-the-top style have distracted many people from her rare and substantial talent.

By the time you read this, Carey's newest single will probably have inched her one notch closer to overtaking the Beatles' world record for the most number-one songs. (They had 20. This spring, she knocked Elvis Presley out of second place with "Touch My Body," her eighteenth.) At the age of 38, Mariah Carey is the best-selling female recording artist in history. She has written and produced more number one songs than any other female composer or producer, and was the first mainstream artist to blend pop with R&B and hip-hop.

Carey's multiethnic background is often cited as a source of her eclectic sound and style. (She was raised by her mother, an opera singer of Irish heritage, and barely knew her father, an aeronautical engineer who was part African-American and Venezuelan). Less noted, but equally important, is her ambiguous class identification. As with most bling-besotted female singers, Carey's aspiration to G4 style seems an effort to make up for her bridge-and-tunnel background. Unlike some other strivers', though, her reaching seems optimistic, not angry. Carey's appeal, again like Parton's, owes much to her mirthful candor about the longing that drives her. "From the time I was little, I had such a huge desire, and such an enormous ambition, driven mainly by the fact that I didn't have the money to get the latest outfits, or even really enough food," she says. When describing her new love -after a courtship that lasted exactly one month, Carey was married in April to the 27-year-old actor and rapper Nick Cannon - she roots her remarks within a childhood memory: "When I was a kid there was an ice storm in the suburbs," she says. "We went to Manhattan to stay with a friend of my mom's. There was nobody on the road. It was this moment that could have been scary for a kid, but she made it festive. That's what Nick is like: He takes the hard part of a situation and makes it celebratory."

These days, Carey has much to celebrate. In addition to the success of her new album, E=MC2, which debuted at number one, she won praise at the Tribeca Film Festival for her performance as a waitress in the independent movie Tennessee. Next, she'll play a social worker in a film adaptation of Sapphire's verse novel PUSH, then make a feature-length HBO musical adaptation of Merry Christmas, her 1994 holiday album - which is, by the way, the best-selling Christmas album... of all time.--Michael Joseph Gross, Fashion Rocks magazine

Adam Sandler about Mariah in "You Don't Mess With The Zohan"
Adam Sandler who is currently on promo tour in Europe for "The Zohan" talked about Mariah.

One cast member who took it all in her stride was Mariah Carey.

“She was great, great girl,” Adam says.

“I met Mariah a long time ago on Saturday Night Live. Then, when we wrote in the original draft, we thought it was cool that the only thing that the Israelis and Palestinians could agree on was that Mariah Carey was hot. While on set, she worked hard and I got to listen to her new album. I was in the room with her deciding which should be the first single.”

Billboard Hot 100 Chart 50th. Anniversary

Fifty years ago, in the Aug. 4, 1958, issue, Billboard launched a revolutionary chart called the Hot 100. After nearly two decades of tracking songs distinctively by sales or plays (on jukeboxes and at radio), the Hot 100 was the first list to measure popularity by incorporating both radio play and sales. Scoring the chart’s inaugural No. 1 was Ricky Nelson with “Poor Little Fool.” Billboard.com is celebrating this milestone in a big way, as we post all kinds of Hot 100-based charts each week leading up the September unveiling of our special All-Time Hot 100 chart and the commemorative Hot 100 Anniversary issue of Billboard Magazine.

Most No. 1s By Artist (All-Time)
- The Beatles
First No. 1: I Want To Hold Your Hand (1964) - 20 number 1's
- Mariah Carey

Most No. 1s By Artist (1990-1999)

Mariah's Summer Splurge

Mariah Carey is finally getting the wedding party she always dreamed about.

Sources say Carey paid an astounding $125,000 to rent Stone Meadow Farm in East Hampton for one week this month. At the 10-bedroom, 18,000 square-foot, 8-acre spread, the diva and her new hubby, Nick Cannon, will "chill out" - as opposed to whatever else they've been doing since they married. But we hear she's also finally getting around to celebrating her quickie April wedding to Cannon. The party will be hosted by Def Jam boss L.A. Reid, and all the guests who bought Carey presents through her Bergdorf Goodman registry can finally toast the couple.

If all goes well, Carey has the option to buy Stone Meadow, which is listed at just under $20 million and is the site of the Red Cross Ball on Aug. 23. Carey's rep and Corcoran listing agent Gary DePersia had no comment.

The "Guilty By Association" press release
When I came online today, I was very surprised to see I received a lot of e-mails regarding the press release (even sometimes several e-mails from the same fans, hey, I'm located in Europe and I sleep sometimes  ).
I didn't remove the press release and will not, I will do it only if I'm asked to.  By the way, the news about the book was already posted here on Heroes of Mariah in October 2006.   Seriously guys, do you really think Damizza would ever do anything to hurt Mariah?
And am I the only one who understand the press release correctly, we all know they have a strong relationship and we all know he (they) hided stuffs from the press, we try it to protect Mariah too, right? .  Damizza and Mariah know each other since so many years, they went through a lot together, funny and sad times, he was the one who stayed at her side in the bad times when the entire world turned his back on her.  2001 anyone?  He was there when she was in hospital and when she left the hospital, he was there....  I can assure you, that book is gonna be interesting and funny as hell.  Don't you want to know the kind of stories of how Mariah and granny Baby Ree burned the dinner and Mariah was throwing it away, both hidden in the kitchen , don't you want to know how he calls Mariah when they phone, meet , his stories are hilarious.  I'm not gonna tell you all what will be in that book on Mariah and on many other artists and I know for sure he will not trash her for her way to sing, her way to dress, etc... like some of her own fans.
I know Damizza, he's my bro, I'm his label representative for Europe and I swear if there's something written in his book which could hurt Mariah,  I will never put his name again here on Heroes of Mariah (but this is not gonna happen).

Elvis demoted in new Billboard historic chart
Poor Elvis. Random sightings of the King of Rock 'n' Roll have tapered off in recent years, and now he has mysteriously disappeared from the upper echelons of a new list that ranks the artists with the most No. 1 hits on the U.S. pop singles chart.

Until April, Elvis Presley and Mariah Carey tied at No. 2 on Billboard's list of the top acts of the rock era with 17 No. 1 tunes each, behind the Beatles with 20.

But then Carey took sole possession of the silver medal when her single "Touch My Body" hit the top spot. That should still make Presley No. 3, but not according to Billboard which has demoted him to No. 14 with seven No. 1 hits, a ranking he now shares with Phil Collins.

Official Press release
GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION
By Damion "Damizza" Young & J. Marshall Craig
With Eddie Gurrola
One of the music and radio industry's top producers and executives for the last 15 years, Damion Young is lifting the veil on what went on behind the scenes in the burgeoning, ongoing and, at times, recovering careers of just about every major recording star in his explosive new memoir, "Guilty By Association."

Fans will be enthrawed with Damizza's first-hand account of watching Eminem record "Hi My Name Is …" in Dr. Dre's home studio — and minutes later Dre taking Damizza aside, enlisting his friend's advice on "how to break the white boy."

Dre wasn't the only one tapping Damizza for his expertise: The young producer and radio wunderkind was hired by L.A.'s fledgling Power 106 hip-hop station to turn it into what became, during his tenure, arguablythe world's most influential music station.

In "Guilty By Association" readers will be treated to the behind-the-scenes stories of some of Mariah Carey's biggest hits — and her incredible comeback after the disastrous "Glitter" fiasco, orchestrated through her triumphant post-9/11 Super Bowl performance. And for the first time anywhere, Damizza finally goes public with the ups and down of the intense four-year personal relationship they shared and worked diligently to disguise from the world's press.

From Al Gore's insightful assessment of "Glitter" to Billy Bob Thorton's attempt to record an album under Damizza's direction, the landmark reunion of Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre on "Chronic 2001" and a nearly endless list of every imaginable celebrity who sought Damizza's help, "Guilty By Association" is a who's who diary of how our world of popular music has evolved, all told by one of the few people who was standing in the room at nearly every moment.

But it's also more than a recollection of anecdotal remembrances: Damizza spends considerable time discussing the hows and whys of the songs that have topped the charts for more than a decade came to fruition, from the writing and recording to the sometimes uncomfortable and combative machinations of the record, radio and promotionalindustries and the egos that propel them.

While entire chapters are dedicated to Dre, Snoop, Mariah, Warren G., Eminem, Ludacris and Jay-Z, readers will be hard pressed to come up with a famous name that doesnotplay at least a passing role in "Guilty By Association." Axl Rose, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Quincy Jones, Paris Hilton, Prince, Tobey McGuire, Tony Bennett, Hulk Hogan, Michael and Janet Jackson, Tommy Lee & Pamela Anderson, David Lee Roth, Harry Belafonte, Puffy, Jermaine Dupri, Nas, The Game, 50 Cent, Suge Knight, Tupac, Biggie … the list literally goes on for pages … a manic trip that finally pulls over at the side of the road for a little "breather" at the Betty Ford Center.

"It's been — it continues to be — a mindblowing journey," Damizza says. "I really felt fans deserved to hear some of my first-hand accounts of how some of their favorite records came to be. Besides, it's been a while since my mailbox has been filled with cease-and-desist orders."

Will Mariah Carey be holding Hamptons wedding reception?
Will there be a celebrity wedding at music mogul L.A. Reid’s Sagaponack home after all?

Last summer, the wedding between singer Usher and fiancee Tameka Foster which was set to unfold at Reid’s Hamptons home was abruptly canceled at the last minute. The couple eventually tied the knot in Atlanta.

But there’s a chance that Reid may be host to another star-studded union as early as this weekend.

A source tells Newsday that singers Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are set to hold their wedding reception at Reid’s estate this Saturday. The couple's marriage ceremony was held April 8 in the Bahamas.

Carey and Reid could not be reached for comment.

A Hamptons wedding would bring Carey back to her Long Island roots. She was born in Huntington and attended Harborfields High School. Cannon is a California native.

Reid’s home is reportedly a 7,000-square-foot, five-bedroom, five-bath spread on 3.27 acres, with a swimming pool, pond and tennis courts. Public records show that Reid, who is chairman of The Island Def Jam Music Group, bought the home on Sagg Main for $10 million in 2006.

"I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" too indecent for The Netherlands!
If there was a country you didn't expect these kind of reactions, it was The Netherlands.  TV music channel TMF Netherlands says the "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" video even if it's hot, is too indecent for young people (probably children), 'cause according to them it contains indecent moves, even if  the video has been approved by the censorship commission.
It really surprises me coming from a country were you become almost high while walking by the coffee shops (we all know you don't go there to drink coffee) where everyone smokes his joint even with children at their side and where prostitutes harass you at almost every street corner (at least in Amsterdam).
I really think TMF Netherlands has lost it, if Mariah wearing a bikini can be shocking, what about 50 Cent who put his hands where we all know  (), Britney, Madonna, Beyoncé and so many others who open their legs, it's absolutely insane!!!!!!
Mariah, sweetheart, next time you go to The Netherlands, don't forget your big shawl and your accessories to knit...... or is it indecent too there?????

Mariah Carey wasn't happy with her fans last night. (not her fans...)
No, not the 5,000 or so people who showed at the Hollywood and Highland mall in L.A. for Mimi's free concert, but the electric ones responsible for keeping her hair billowing throughout the gig.

"My hair keeps sticking to my lipgloss," Carey said at the end of her first number. "You got to turn up the fans!"

Carey, who was performing as part of the Samsung AT&T Summer Krush concert series, also had something of a mike problem.

"I want my mike stand," she said at one point. "I don’t know what happened to my mike stand."

A stagehand quickly popped on stage with a glittering crystal-covered stand that matched her crystal-covered mike.

And what did she bring along for the fans. Darn if we'll ever know.

"I haven't forgotten to bring my bag of festivities," she said. "I'll be distributing those in a moment."

She then walked off stage, but she returned empty-handed!

I'm told hubby Nick Cannon was there, but stayed backstage. His family and friends were given VIP seats overlooking the stage.

Which meant a few not so VIP's were booted from their chairs.

"These seats," a security guard said, "are for Nick Cannon's family."

A smidgen of the concert was also broadcast on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she was a guest earlier in the evening.

Mariah bares her killer cleavage
Mariah Carey certainly knows how to please her audience - and it's not just with her voice.
The Touch My Body singer flashed an eye-popping cleavage during a recent gig in LA, donning a figure-hugging top that was slashed halfway down her torso.

Hubby Nick Cannon must be counting his lucky stars for bagging such a beauty.

Mariah was performing as part of the Samsung AT&T Summer Krush concert series.

The newlywed will release her next single I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time on September 1. (in the UK).

She's too funny...
Mariah Carey Talks Wedding, Stevie Wonder and Baseball
Mariah Carey chatted with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night.

Here are a few show highlights:
On Stevie Wonder honoring her in Time Magazine
That's incredible because he's been my hero my entire life. He's a very inspiring person.

Throwing first pitch in Japan
I was so wonderful at that. [In high school] people used to help me throw the ballthey would stand behind me and help me and I would just run to the bases. They don't let you do that in the stadium.

On Nick Cannon
He's an incredible person.

On keeping her wedding a secret
It's not the easiest thing in the world. We wanted it to be private and things of that nature. Basically we told everybody we were shooting a video and we kind of did shoot a video and then in the process also got married. Isn't that what everybody does?

On Nick's large tattoo.
I quite like that.

On her smaller tattoo:
It's so not the size of the walnut! I was on time today and everything. The tattoo thing was both of our first experience getting a tattoo. He didn't have one before and neither did I. So we got the tattoos at the same time and that was almost a bigger shock than the people around us. Its kind of a big deal. Oprah wasn't first!

On having a small wedding:
This was a very intimate moment.

Mariah Carey gets efficient on Hollywood Boulevard
Mariah Carey may now largely avoid the daring vocal acrobatics that marked the beginning of what would become one of the most successful music careers of the last two decades. Hitting the high notes, therefore, wasn't much of a concern Thursday night in Hollywood. Instead, the singer faced other challenges.

Chief among them: Can one of the most recognizable divas in the world emerge from what looked to be a giant plastic mascara box -- one that's placed upon a stage in the middle of a shopping mall -- with grace? And do so while ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" is coming back from a commercial break?

But Carey's every stride comes equipped with a happy elegance that would shame beauty pageants the world over. Indeed, while she was performing a free five-song mini-set at Hollywood & Highland's outdoor mall, which was taped for ABC's late-night show, Carey might as well have been on a moving parade float, as nary a verse or a chorus was sung without a wave, a nod or a wink to a fan.

That's not to say Thursday evening went off without a hitch. It was a little more than an hour before the 8:30 p.m. show time, and a crisis was brewing. A podium for photographers had been placed stage left, but this would fail to capture Carey's good side. It must, those working the show bustled, be moved to frame Carey's right side at once.

By the time Kimmel introduced Carey, everything was in its right place, and the singer offered a swift medley of current single "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" and "E=MC2's" runaway hit "Touch My Body." A few minutes later, the singer even stopped to let the crowd photograph her. "Let me pose," she said, asking the audience to shoot her "at the angle I prefer."

A crowd estimate wasn't available from on-site security, but earlier Kimmel's music booker, Scott Igoe, said about 1,000 people would be allowed on the ground floor and an additional 1,000-plus around the upper levels. Some, such as 21-year-old L.A.-resident Stephanie De La Cruz, had been there as early as 9 a.m., and she said she would have been there 24 hours before that had her mother let her.

What they witnessed was a brief but professional showing and an unbilled appearance from Southern rapper Young Jeezy. He joined Carey on "Side Effects," his gruff intonations providing a surprisingly effective counterbalance to Carey's pleasantly light phrasing.

Since her career rebirth with 2005's "The Emancipation of Mimi," Carey has abandoned the wild vocal wailing that gave rise to "American Idol" and has emerged a thinner-voiced, but far more efficient, singer. Check "I'm That Chick," where the lyrics are embarrassing drivel (Carey compares herself to ice cream), but she was able to somehow pull it off by letting her voice sway with the song's rhythmic R&B shuffle.

The concert was the latest from Kimmel's show to be performed out on the streets of Hollywood, which launched in 2003 with an appearance by Coldplay on Hollywood Boulevard. Although most Kimmel performances happen inside the studio across from the Hollywood & Highland complex, or on the outdoor stage behind the studio, that wasn't the original intention.

"We had this grandiose idea when the show started that we'd be doing these concerts every Friday night on Hollywood Boulevard," Igoe said. "Then they saw the price tag. 'Oh, $250,000 every Friday night? Don't think so.' "

Now, the happenings are largely contingent on sponsors or record labels chipping in to defray costs, and Carey's performance was part of a national summer concert series from electronics company Samsung. Although Kimmel didn't have to close Hollywood Boulevard to have Carey perform, Igoe put the production costs as "probably about $250,000," noting that Carey doesn't come cheap. "There was a financial contribution Samsung had to make on top of the production to get her out here," he said.

To those who had spent their day getting sunburned waiting for Carey, it was money well spent. When a group of fans was asked why it was worth 12 hours of standing in the Los Angeles heat to see a five-song set, this reporter was booed by the crowd for suggesting such a negative question.

Other notes:

A diva becomes human: Carey is a pro, and her between-song banter consists of pointing out audience member T-shirts and reading aloud their signs. One female fan caught her eye, holding a placard that declared that she had left her 14 children at home to see Carey perform. Said Carey, "You left your 14 kids for me? Seriously? Wow." A moment later a member of Carey's team came onstage to help the singer get ready for the next song. Said Carey to her staffer, "That literally said she left her 14 kids...."

The sentence trailed off when it was pointed out to Carey that the microphone was on. She smiled, turned to the crowd, and said, "It happens."

Up next: Igoe says Kimmel hopes to have an outdoor show on Hollywood Boulevard the night before Thanksgiving. As for who it will be? "We don’t know. The Jonas Brothers, the Killers, a big rock act. It'll come down to money again."

So what was in the bag? Before Carey disappeared offstage for a commercial break, she teased the crowd with this: "I haven't forgotten to bring my bag of festivities with me, so I'll be distributing that in a second." A bag of festivities? Joy! Yet when Carey returned, she carried no bag.
