Keith recently sat down with journalists to answer questions about his experience on American Idol and how it's great to have Mariah as a judge.

"I certainly think having somebody like particularly Mariah—Inarguably one of the world’s great vocalists period.  This is a global vocal powerhouse and any girl, I think, would love the opportunity to sing for Mariah and get feedback from her and get direction from her.  I think that’s been a real plus for the show to have somebody like her on the panel. "

Slow start on US radios.  But, the movie and the video aren't out yet.....

As far as I know, in Europe the single will not be sent to radios as the labels dosn't see it as a Mariah project (even if they put it on iTunes, go figure...)

Last and not least, for the Twitter lurkers out there, I never said I didn't like the song, I said it's not a 100% Mariah song and in my opinion,  it must feel weird to see people praising and quoting some lyrics you didn't write (the co-wroters make it clear enough on Twitter...) while they rejected the ones you wrote and were close to your heart .... Triumphant.
Anyway, it's an honor for Mariah to be part of that project and I'll support it to the fullest like I always do for all her projects.

Songbirds Mariah Carey and mom, Patricia Hickey Carey, take in 'Phantom of the Opera' over the weekend to celebrate mom's 76th birthday

When Mariah and her mother, a former opera singer, arrived at Broadway's Majestic Theatre, 'the crowd went nuts!' a source said.

 It's only fitting that Mariah Carey and her mother, Patricia Hickey Carey, celebrated the weekend in song.

The 42-year-old five-time Grammy winner and her mom, a former opera singer, celebrated Patricia’s 76th birthday this weekend by taking in a Friday night performance of “Phantom of the Opera” at Broadway’s Majestic Theatre. Afterward, a waiting Rolls-Royce took them to Lincoln Center, where they walked around the courtyard fountain while a performance of “Rigoletto” was letting out at the Metropolitan Opera.

“Both looked gorgeous,” a source on the scene told  “Mariah Carey was in a black dress with hair pulled into a cascading fall. Mom was in a pantsuit.”

When the ladies arrived at the Majestic, the “crowd went nuts!”

 An insider said it was a sentimental journey for Patricia, a big “Phantom” fan who’s seen the long-running musical several times. Early in her singing career, she performed Verdi’s “Rigoletto.”

After a stroll around the performance center’s grounds, the two songbirds said they were going to get dessert before calling it a night.

A new Mariah song has been registered on ASCAP, it's titled " "Make It Look Good"

Featured in the forthcoming Disney feature Oz: The Great and Powerful, starring James Franco and Mila Kunis, directed by Sam Raimi and scheduled for a theatrical release on March 8, the pure pop track was co-written by Carey with Simone Porter, Justin Gray, Lindsey Ray and co-produced by Stargate (Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen). It goes to radio on Tuesday, Feb. 19 and will be available on iTunes the same day. An accompanying video, directed by Carey's frequent collaborator David LaChapelle, will premiere in the coming weeks.

The vocals for “Almost Home” sit comfortably in Carey’s mid-range, as opposed to leaning more heavily on the breathy falsetto for which the octave-defying performer is also known. Recorded in New York City at Roc The Mic Studios and featuring overlaying harmonies, the song marks a return to form for the multiple Grammy winner, who’s sold more than 200 million albums since her 1990 debut. "It's a feel-good record," said Carey in a statement announcing the tune whose lyrics pine to "find a kingdom I believe in in my heart." "It gives you the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love," she added.

In an interview with blogger That Grape Juice, JD talks about Mariah's new album

We hear that you're hard at work at Mariah Carey's new album. How is that album shaping up?
JD: Well, it's funny - I never said that either. I said I've worked on some records. Some people seem to forget that I'm the one who produced "Triumphant" with Rick Ross and Meek Millz. I just let people know I've done that and a bunch of other songs for that album.
Now, when she starts putting the album together, I'm sure to have 4 to 5 songs on it. I don't know what those will be at this point though, because I'm not involved in that decision process. So, I'm waiting to find out just like you guys are.

Any hints on what we can expect sonically?
JD: I don't think any of the other songs are like "Triumphant." We have a couple of dance records - and no I don't mean EDM, I mean more for the clubs. I don't know if they have a "type." I usually do what I think people want. I can't really tell you what genre it would fit in.

Co-writer Lindsey Ray talks about "Almost Home" in an interview:

"One of my co-writers, Simone Porter had a meeting with this guy at Disney® last summer. I guess he told her in the meeting that they were looking for songs for this new movie. She called me and asked me if I wanted to write it with her...or try writing something for it with her. I went, "Yes." I write on the piano but I'm not a producer. I ended up calling Justin Gray who is [another] co-writer. He's a friend of mine. He and I have worked together a bunch in the past. He's an amazing producer. …The three of us got together back in July. It was a really long project. We never knew if it would even be used or anything. I'm sure there were lots of other people writing for it as well. Yes, it's crazy now sitting here in February being like, "Oh my God. Six months ago we were working on that, and now here we are with a song that Stargate and Mariah Carey co-wrote and collaborated on and Mariah Carey is singing it. It's crazy.

We read the script. They sent us the screenplay. We did read the script, and we knew that they wanted it to be an uplifting and inspiring song. They wanted it to sound poppy enough that it could be a song that could be a major artist single or be on the radio. They also wanted it to make sense with the storyline as well. We had to toe that line of writing something that would work on the radio but that also works with the story. We did have some guidelines, and of course every time we sent in a version that would give us feedback. It was a long process.

Global Superstar Mariah Carey Records "Almost Home" For Disney's Oz The Great and Powerful 

Disney announced today that multiple GRAMMY Award-winning superstar Mariah Carey has recorded the song, "Almost Home," for Oz The Great and Powerful, the studio's highly anticipated fantastical adventure, directed by Sam Raimi, releasing in theaters nationwide on March 8, 2013.

"Almost Home" will be released as a single by Carey's label, Island Def Jam, on February 19, 2013. Award-winning photographer/director David LaChapelle will direct Carey in the music video for "Almost Home." The two long-time collaborators are reuniting in what LaChapelle describes as "a duet between Mariah and the movie." LaChapelle photographed Carey previously for album covers, and directed her in the music video "Loverboy." American Idol has been a huge success for Mariah Carey. Not only has she been a great addition to the show because of her singing knowledge, she’s also provided great entertainment for fans who may not have been aware of her witty side. Mariah’s role on the show has proven that she is not forgotten and there’s no doubt that there is still a ton of interest for new Mariah Carey music.

In an interview with Mariah’s longtime collaborator Jermaine Dupri, YouKnowIGotSoul exclusively learned some details regarding the potential sound of the project.

“We have a crazy relationship. We have a very interesting working relationship. As Hip Hop as I am, she wants to be double Hip Hop. When we go in the studio, it’s like I turn into the R&B person and she turns into the rapper. It’s a real weird situation. She wants to do everything that all the rappers are doing like everything that’s happening in the club. I’m more like “Yo, can we make this singing song like a beautiful ballad please?” I’m tuned into what I believe the fans want when I work with Mariah. I believe Mariah has been making music for so long that, like I said, as an artist she wants to change her sound and do this and do things differently than what she’s done. As an artist that’s had a long career like hers, you have to respect that. At the same time though, I’m the person that is always there to be like “Listen, the fans want this.” We go round and round, but it’s a really creative process because we find a happy medium.”

Furthermore Jermaine Dupri, who is set to celebrate the 20th year anniversary of his So So Def imprint, gave some details on a song that he believes is a hit waiting to happen.

“I don’t know what is coming and what ain’t from what we’ve done, but I do know I did do a song with Mariah almost a year ago that y’all haven’t heard yet. I know if it gets on the radio, it’s going to blow up and go crazy. I can tell you that. I don’t know what she’s going to do with the song, but I tell her every day that the song is crazy.”

The “American Idol” diva was home suffering from a bad cold Friday night while her hubby Nick Cannon hit the MTV “Wild ’N Out” wrap party on at the Ava Penthouse Lounge at the Dream Hotel in midtown. “Everyone was asking Nick where Mariah was,” says our spy. “He said that she was home resting.” We’re sure Mariah is feeding the flu with fabulousness.

Fortunately for Cannon and wife Mariah Carey, 21-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, are showing no signs of the terrible twos.

“My kids — it’s a blessing — they’re extremely disciplined,” Cannon, 32, tells PEOPLE at Godiva‘s Decadent Pop Up Chocolate Photo Booth in Rockefeller Center Thursday.

“They try misbehaving with other people because everyone gives them so much attention, but when it comes to my wife and I, we only have to say something once,” explains Cannon, who called himself a “stern father.”

“We ask them to have a seat, they sit down, cross their legs and put their hands in their lap. I hope it lasts!”

While his superstar wife’s high notes are legendary, it’s the volume of Cannon’s voice that gets the twins to fall in line.

“I’ve got the loudest voice in the house,” he notes, “so they’ve always responded to that ever since they were newborns. They hear my voice and they freeze.”

One thing that may end up getting “Roc and Roe” in trouble is the love of sweets they inherited from their chocolate-loving dad.

“We have a candy store inside of our L.A. house, and the basketball court is beneath it. My son tricks me. He’ll say ‘basketball,’ and then every time, when we walk to the court, he runs to the straight to the candy and takes a handful,” Cannon says with a laugh.

“He’s not even 2 yet, but he knows how to play the Jedi mind trick!”

First, they will face the judges and sing a cappella, trusting only in their talent to make it another day. Those that survive will then join forces with one another – trusting in friends and, possibly, foes – for the heart-pounding, sleep-deprived group day. Those who stand out will move on to the solo day, giving the remaining contestants one more chance to impress the judges and make the Top 40.

Drama and desperation escalate behind the scenes as the pressure mounts during the intense “Hollywood Rounds” which kick-off with the guys, competing on Wednesday, Feb. 6 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, Feb. 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The girls get their chance to win over the judges beginning Wednesday, Feb. 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). At the end of the girls’ second and final “Hollywood Round,” on Thursday, Feb. 14 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), only the Top 40 semifinalists – 20 guys and 20 girls – will remain.

American Idol contestant admits lying about military service
Judges pushed a lot of "awwww 's" when the contestant came on stage with his lil' girl.  Telling his veteran stories (lies) he even made Randy thanking him for serving the country.  He lied, he's out!!!
