Woman goes from fun-loving tourist to fund-raiser
By Lisa Chamoff

Norwalk -- For years, Deborah Castillero went to Panama to visit family and vacation at the San Blas archipelago -- a group of about 300 islands in the Caribbean and a popular destination for European tourists.
About two years ago, the Norwalk woman was staying on the island of Nalunega when she came across a tiny church. After speaking with the pastor, she discovered it was established by Christian missionaries for the Cuna Indians, native Central Americans who live on the islands.
Castillero sat in on the services and spent time with the Cuna children, speaking Spanish with them. Shortly after she returned home, she received a telephone call from the pastor, who told her several of the Cuna children had died, mainly because the water they drank was not properly filtered for bacteria. The Cuna live without electricity or running water.
"I just got the sense that I couldn't just go there as a tourist any more," Castillero said. "I had to do something to help them."
Since then, Castillero has been collecting donations of over-the-counter medicine, school supplies and clothing for the Cuna. She is trying to raise $40,000 to install a water filtration system. A concert Castillero organized Friday night at the First Cathedral in Hartford, featuring the Christian hip-hop group The Cross Movement, helped to raise money for the project.
Castillero has been back to San Blas several times, visiting several of the islands and bringing a guitar for the church in Nalunega, and medicine such as Tylenol. There are no hospitals and the nearest doctor is a 2-mile canoe trip away, she said.
"I don't want to go down there to modernize that place," Castillero said. "I don't want to change their culture or their customs. I just want to be able to bring them something simple, like clean water and electricity."
Castillero's 10-year-old son, Joshua Blair, has visited the islands with his mother and played with the Cuna children.
Joshua, who will enter fifth grade at King & Low-Heywood Thomas School in Stamford, has spoken at schools and churches in Fairfield County about the Cuna and organized donations at his school. He even convinced singer Mariah Carey, whom his father knows from his job as an executive at Columbia Records, to make a donation.
"I have a big heart for the Cunas, and once I understood how they lived I felt bad for them and I just wanted to help them more," Joshua said.
He has made a friend, a Cuna child named Ricky, and visited his family.
"When I walked into their house, I saw they didn't have electricity, they were sleeping in hammocks," Joshua said. "They eat fish and sometimes they get rice, and that's it. I couldn't imagine eating fish and just rice every day. I wouldn't make it."
Castillero and Joshua were to leave yesterday for Panama along with the pastor of the New Life Christian Fellowship in Darien, Elayne Cassara, and her 6-year-old son. They will bring flip-flops, school supplies, a puppet stage and puppets for the Cuna children.
Cassara said she is excited to learn about the Cuna and expose her son to the culture.
"I really want him to experience how children live who are less fortunate than he is," Cassara said.
Despite their lack of comforts, the Cuna children are like many others he knows from home, Joshua said.
"Sometimes we just chase each other around or play tag, or play baseball," Joshua said. "They're not sad or anything. They're happy."

Rumor land
Warning guys, a lot of rumors are flying around.  Some people are cheating the fans about the upcoming album title and secret infos.
Do you really believe that someone who works for MonarC, Island Def Jam or Universal, will give out secret infos and post them on fan message boards?  If this is the case, I think these people should be fired and sued.

U Make Me Wanna debuts on Billboard
Mariah's latest collaboration with Jadakiss, "U Make Me Wanna" debuts on the Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart at #22. Will the song have a performance similar to that of "What Would U Do" or could it even possibly do as well as "I Know What You Want"? Of course that remains to be seen.
The debut of "U Make Me Wanna" gives Mariah yet another week of minimal chart activity in this downtime between projects. The Remixes finally exits out of the Top Electronic Albums chart after an impressive run in that format. The album spent a total of 39 weeks on the chart. Twenty of those weeks were spent in the top ten with eight solid weeks at #1. The album could make some re-appearances in the coming weeks and/or when Mariah releases her next effort.

Who lets the dogs in?
If you think this hot weather is getting you down, what about your dog? After a walk around the block on the city's steamy summer streets, your pooch no doubt would appreciate a sip of water - and you might be in the mood for a drink yourself.
Of course, most of New York's watering holes frown on patrons bringing their pups into the bar, because it's a health-code violation to have a dog around food (such as lemon wedges and peanuts).
But the rule isn't always enforced, and some of the city's comfiest neighborhood bars - and even a couple of swanky establishments - are adamantly dog friendly.
So, grab the leash (and a plastic bag) and head for one of these spots, where you and Fido are both in for a treat.
The Yard at the Soho Grand Hotel - 310 W. Broadway, at Grand Street, SoHo.
Also owned by the Hartz Mountain group, the SoHo Grand is well-known for its kindness to canines, which is why Alanis Morissette, Hilary Duff and Mariah Carey stop here with their pooches from time to time. While the Soho Grand offers dog-walking services and squeaky toys to its guests, the hotel's month-old outdoor space, the Yard, is where Soho fashionistas enjoy $9 vodka tonics under the summer sun. Dog owners are advised to bring their own bowls and water, as the food-handling staff isn't allowed to touch the terriers. The Yard opens at noon daily and operates until midnight on all days but Sunday, when it closes at 7 p.m

NBA Star Artest Adds Allure to His Label
At a time when female R&B groups are few and far between, the trio Allure is returning to the scene.
New York-raised childhood friends Alia Davis, Lalisha McLean and Akissa Mendez are polishing "Chapter III," their debut for NBA star Ron Artest's Truwarier Records, which will be released Sept. 28.
Truwarier is Allure's fourth label. Its first, Mariah Carey's Crave, folded after the release of the group's self-titled debut. After appearing on the Columbia soundtracks to "The Best Man" and "Runaway Bride," the group segued to MCA. That label issued the trio's second album, "Sunny Days," but shuttered soon after.

Gig: Westlife
By Beth Pearson
Only four months after their fans carefully cut Bryan's face out of their posters, Westlife are back. Early reports suggest he isn't too sorely missed, but his departure not only reduces the average height of the band, it cuts their stage presence by at least a fifth (Bryan used to be a bit bigger; see OK! magazine for diet tips).
This burning issue is second only to that of whether the whole Westlife enterprise can be dragged out any longer. True, their cover of Barry Manilow's Mandy had black-metal fans singing along, but that was just a tiny moment that roused an otherwise ballad-fatigued nation. After all, where does any band go after duetting with Mariah Carey?

Kinou's moment: Wow, very good analyse Beth, I'm really impressed, mmm let me think... with who were YOU duetting again...?  William Shakespeare?  Sorry for you dear, I'm in a very good mood and you can't hurt me today .

A US fan got a really great idea to promote Mariah's upcoming album, please if you live in the US, take part .
Pass the Promotion
The Pass the Promotion project will take anywhere from one to two weeks to complete, but MONTHS to put together.  Let me explain it.
Lambs, we will drive from L.A. to New York City to promote Mariah's new album.  We will decorate our cars and drive.  There will be one banner that travels from LA to NYC.  Probably a magnetic one, so it is easy to put on and take off.  There will be pass and pick up points throughout the United States.  The banner and the final car will reach New York City on the day of the album release.
Click here to see the approximate route for the banner to pass through.
If you live along those highyways, and would like to help promote the new album please let me know.  Either post on here or email me at mymusicbox931@hotmail.com
What's wrong? You don't live along those highways?  Well you can still help!  You can still paint your windows with car window paint and promote her right there in your hometown as you go about your daily tasks.  By hitting smaller towns and cities, she is getting MORE publicitiy.  We need to promote her in the cities she can't get to.  Like all of those mom and pop towns!
The label needs help promoting her, and who better to help them than her loyal fans?
We can have more than one car traveling at the same time.  For example 2 or 3 cars can travel across the same state, or 100 cars!!  The number is UNLIMITED!!  The more the better!
I am going to get in touch with MonarC to find out the US release date.  So when I find that out, that is when the drive start and end date will be set.
There will also be check in points to make sure that the banner is making it's way across the US successfully.
Who is with me?!

Drug laws to get rapped
By Lloyd Grove
Security will be so tight during next month's Republican National Convention that protesters will be kept blocks away from Madison Square Garden - out of sight and out of mind for President Bush and his co-partisans.
But hip-hop impresario Russell Simmons - with the AIDS activist group Still We Rise, the New York Civil Liberties Union and other like-minded folks - has somehow managed to obtain a permit to march right up Eighth Ave. to the Garden, on the convention's opening day, Aug. 30.
There they'll stage a rally against the so-called Rockefeller Drug Laws, Simmons told me, noting that he expects to be joined by Sean (P. Diddy) Combs, Jay-Z, the Beastie Boys and Mariah Carey.
Their target: Gov. Pataki, who Simmons claims is stopping the Legislature from correcting inequities in the laws that mandate harsh sentencing by judges.
"I'm saddened and I'm disappointed and I'm heartbroken that the governor is now seen as the stumbling block to fixing the situation," Simmons said. "These are the most severe drugs laws in the country - and they're insane and unjust."
Simmons continued: "Ninety-four percent of the people who go to jail under the laws are black and brown and poor. There's a lot of prosecutorial discretion, but there's zero judicial discretion."
Simmons, who last year was sued by the state Lobbying Commission for his anti-drug-law advocacy (which the commission said was lobbying that required Simmons to register), defended his efforts as free speech.
"I spent $600,000 on lawyers to fight this, so please make it clear that I'm not lobbying anybody, I'm just giving my opinion as an American citizen," Simmons stressed.
Also on hand for the protest will be Russell's older brother, Danny, who helps run the RUSH Philanthropic Arts Foundation. In 1973, when he was a 21-year-old New York University student and the Rockefeller laws were new on the books, Danny Simmons was prosecuted in an FBI sting for conspiracy to possess an ounce of cocaine.
Faced with a mandatory sentence of 25 years to life - for letting undercover FBI agents into a dorm to buy drugs from another student - Danny copped a plea and spent 18 months in prison.

Heroes note: Look at the note I posted on July the 20th. :
"Heroes note: The biggest Hip-Hop gathering ever will take place in New York on August the 30th., this event is called The March on New York, Russell Simmons declared on HSAN.org"This will be the biggest hip-hop gathering ever, and we intend for our voices to be heard. We will not be silenced. The March on New York is going down. It will be the illest march in history." Dr. Benjamin Chavis emphasized, "The March on New York is a march for freedom, justice and equality. We are saying 'no' to Rockefeller Drug Laws and we are saying 'yes' to youth voter registration and mobilization, as well as saying 'yes' to equal, high quality education for in all public schools. We are saying 'no' to the war in Iraq and 'yes' to a war on poverty and ignorance in America. Hip-hop is about spitting truth in the face of injustice."
I wonder if Mariah will attend this March ."

"We're not doing the diva thing," Benny said.

Last week, Mariah's friend Jasmine promised to publish news about the trip she made with Mariah in Richard Bronson's private island, Necker Island.  I posted the whole article, 'cause Jasmine is too funny .
Jasmine's Juice
By Jasmine Dotiwala
I am truly blessed! I’ve just spent the past week at Sir Richard Branson’s private place in the Caribbean – the very isolated Necker Island. It took three plane rides and two boats to get there but, trust me, it was totally worth it.
A huge Virgin logo-ed boat arrived at Tortola’s Beef Island, near Antigua, to pick me up, and on arrival Sir Richard himself was standing on the beach waiting to greet me.
As the boat slid up the sandy beach, he yelled to me: “Welcome to Necker! I don’t want you to get your feet wet, so just jump on my back.”
Horrified that he would expect me to straddle his back after having only made his acquaintance a couple of times in the past, I declined. But he’s not businessman of the decade and well-known ladies’ man for nothing. “No – I insist,” he said, so I began my mad week on Sir Rich’s back.
Mariah Carey and I had arrived simultaneously and were required to quickly change into all-white clothes for Richard’s “all-white beach party”, which was under way.
Joining us were Richard’s wife Joan, his gorgeous model son Sam and sweet training-to-be-a-doctor daughter Holly. Also present were 20 of Sam and Holly’s university friends. It was lavish with silk cushions scattered around the sunset-lit beach and the choice of drinks was mimosas.
Myself, Mariah, Mariah’s choreographer Rachael and friend Karen were all put up in Bali-Hi, which was just stunning. It’s a three-tiered Balinese fashioned house with its own plunge pool, huge outdoor kitchen, dining room and lounge with lovely princess-like bedrooms.
The open-air lounge was a bit unnerving at night, but it’s at the top of a cliff so the panoramic hillsides, ocean and beach below were spectacular.
We had to use the craziest bathroom ever. It was an actual room cut out of the cliffside with no fourth wall, so you’re showering and sh***ing in the open air, with a view of the whole ocean. So now all the wildlife on Necker have seen my butt and other bodily parts. I guess that’s one toilet that never needs air freshener!
One night there was a steel and reggae band, so we were able to teach the posh folk how to “blasé, row de boat and do the dollar dance”.
After dinner on a couple of evenings Richard took us to his rooftop to lie on the outdoor beds and watch shooting stars light the sky. Heavenly. We also indulged in some religious and spiritual conversations on the rooftop – how adult of us! He informed us that in the past he’d also had Peter Gabriel, Princess Diana and Janet Jackson out there, so we were in good company. I, in turn, informed him how his record label V2 was doing and educated him on V2’s new signing Est’elle.
Then July 4 came around so Mariah showed us Brits how to celebrate Independence Day in style with a huge red-white-blue dinner and an amazing fireworks display. As if that wasn’t enough I was treated to numerous exclusive listens to Mariah’s new music, which is gonna blow up.
My favourite track is possibly going to be titled To The Floor, which is where I’m headed now to recover from my astounding adventure!

Mariah Carey in Publishing Pact with Universal
By Melinda Newman
Los Angeles - Mariah Carey has signed a long-term publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group.
The worldwide pact covers 135 copyrights -- including 14 of Carey's 15 No. 1 hits on The Billboard Hot 100 -- and future works. (Her remaining No. 1 was a remake of "I'll Be There.")
Carey previously was signed to Sony/ATV, a part of her former Sony Music label.
Universal Music Publishing worldwide president David Renzer said he has had his eye on Carey's catalog for some time.
"There are certain artists that you always inquire about," he told Billboard. "I had been asking (Carey's attorney) Don Passman for years about her and when her catalog might become available. She was an artist who I respected, not only for her vocal range but for her songwriting."
After Carey's deal with Sony/ATV expired and her catalog reverted to her, Universal "stepped up in terms of how aggressively we were chasing her," Renzer said.
He declined to give a dollar figure for the multialbum deal, but called it a "very significant commitment. We made a deal where we're obviously projecting aggressively on her new studio album, but also looking at her back catalog."
Carey's next album for Island Def Jam (which, like Universal, is part of Universal Music Group) is tentatively scheduled for fourth-quarter 2004. Among the producers on the set are Kanye West, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Swizz Beatz and Pharrell Williams.

P. Diddy's Got a Brand-New Beat

Sean "P. Diddy" Combs launched a voter-turnout campaign yesterday in a push to make politics sexy and fashionable among minorities and young folks. It's called Citizen Change, a ho-hum name that doesn't exactly validate Mr. Diddy's bad-boy image. No wonder the stylin' item among activists who attended his New York media event, complete with DJ and flashing lights, was his new T-shirt bearing a more direct command: "Vote or Die."
Vowing to use his "God-given talents" as a marketer, hip-hop impresario and fashion trendsetter, Combs has assembled a team of strategists, most with ties to the Democratic Party, including James Carville, to roll out the campaign. The Post's Michelle Garcia reports that Combs's "coalition of the willing" includes Mary J. Blige, Jay-Z, Ellen DeGeneres and Mariah Carey, who will make TV appearances. Combs wouldn't reveal how much the effort will cost, but said, "It's a lot more than I thought."
He also issued a plea for Republicans to join the nonpartisan campaign, saying RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie has expressed interest. "We have the power to make things cool, hot and sexy, from the clothes we wear to the bling we buy," Combs told the crowded auditorium. And politics is no different, P. Diddy declared. (Except politicians rarely say "bling.")

P. Diddy launches group for youth vote
By Nekesa Mumbi Moody
New York-- Trendsetters, fashionistas, rappers - P. Diddy wants you. Specifically, he's looking for the "sexy people" to help him entice young people and minorities to vote in the presidential election, as part of his new nonpartisan voting initiative called Citizen Change.
"Now we're going to make voting cool," the hip-hop mogul/Broadway actor/marathon runner/fashion designer/perpetual A-lister proclaimed as he trotted out fresh young faces, supermodels and even Democratic strategist James Carville at an event to begin his drive.
"For the first time in history, we're going to make voting fashionable," he said.
Of course, this hardly is the first time a celebrity has been involved in politics, or that rockers or rappers have tried to get out the vote. In recent years, Rock The Vote has enlisted stars including Madonna to appearing in public service announcements urging young people to vote, while MTV and BET have had campaigns to increase voter registration. And another hip-hop mogul, Russell Simmons, has had his Hip-Hop Summit Action Network hold several gatherings in cities across the nation to register voters.
"I think that Rock the Vote and the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network has given birth to this organization," said P. Diddy. "(But) I wanted to launch a new energy at a new time."
Citizen Change plans to link up with MTV, BET, Clear Channel and other media outlets to increase voter awareness, and P. Diddy said there will be registration drives on college campuses and education initiatives to make people more aware of the election and the issues.
The organization will hold functions tied to both the Democratic and Republication conventions. P. Diddy also said both President Bush and Democratic challenger John Kerry will be invited to participate in Citizen Change events.
"It will be equal, 50-50," P. Diddy said.
P. Diddy already has enlisted stars Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige for the effort, and labels such as Ecko, Phat Farm, and his own Sean John have been tapped to create clothing featuring the initiative's motto - "Vote or Die!" - which Diddy himself wore at the news conference.

Bridal suit gets to the point
Wedding couture queen Vera Wang's clients are walking on pins and needles — literally. Two women have filed a lawsuit claiming they had to undergo surgery after pins punctured their feet while they were trying on Wang's wedding gowns. Lawyer Max D. Leifer, who is representing perforated plaintiffs Melissa Brennan and Alexandra Harwin, told Page Six's Tom Sykes: "In each case, a needle got into their foot and a part of it broke off and traveled into the foot. They needed surgery and were on crutches for six weeks." Leifer said each woman is seeking about $75,000 from Wang, and they sued because Wang's insurers had taken a "negative attitude" toward their injuries. Wang is apparently taking pains to make sure none of the city's other affianced social types get speared. Spies at her Madison Avenue boutique report a "big sign" now in the fitting rooms asks customers to wear shoes while trying on gowns. Wang, who has designed frocks for Uma Thurman, Sharon Stone and Mariah Carey, didn't return calls.

It's Good To Be Mariah little review
Yesterday, July The 18th. , It's Good To Be Mariah was premiered on E!
The US fans told that the show was really good with exclusive little footages.  Mariah was looking fine and they explained that Mariah was rich, but that she deserved it 'cause of all her hard work.  There were funny moments and Kris said he can do Mariah's make up when she's sleeping.  At the end, all Mariah's people said nice stuff about her.
There were a few little mistakes in the show, they told Mariah has 3 Russel Terriers. But nothing really worse.
So, in conclusion, it was a really good show for the lucky US fans.

More news about the Vision Of Love Legacy Edition
Like I already said here on Heroes of Mariah on July the 5th. the Legacy Edition was confirmed by Sony Music, but that they weren't allowed to give details regarding the tracklist of the album, as the offcial press release hasn't been published yet
Mariah Connection Sweden got the info that Sony postponed the release till the beginning of September.
Once again it was confirmed that the release would be a double cd album, with the second cd containing extra material like the other Legacy albums.
Sony Music in the US told that there has been "no official announcement" on the re-issue or on the title. They also say that there "definitely will not" be any release on Aug. 30th.

Mariah at Richard Branson's Necker island
Speaking of partying, I’m off to re-energise my A-list, top-notch, jet-set, diva lifestyle at Sir Richard Branson’s Necker island – I’ve been invited to film an MTV Cribs show at his home. Being the polite young lady that my mum brought me up to be, I thought I’d better not turn up without a gift, so I took… Mariah Carey!
I figured what with it being Independence Day and Mariah loving to spend time on tropical islands, we should buck up and kill three birds with one stone. Richard Branson would meet Mariah, Mariah would get a free party on an exclusive island with her mates, and I would get to mix bizness with pleasure and top up my tan. So I’ll catch you rain-dwelling Brits on the other side. First-class everything, palm trees and butlers to do my every bidding – Necker island here I come!

A Golden Voice Commands Ski Trips, Wardrobe Fixes, a Mogul's Love and Filthy Piles of Cash
Her eight-octave voice is in the Guinness Book of World Records, but there's so much more to Mariah Carey than her chart-topping vocal cords. Where to start? How about her penthouse worth $9 million, or her 500 pairs of high heels, or even her a $2,500-a-day habit of looking beautiful.
This heartbreaker is living large as a pop diva should, but you'd never guess to what extreme! Our new episode, It's Good to Be Mariah Carey, premiering July 18 at 10:30 p.m., lifts the lid on her days of luxury.
Before this songbird raked in millions in album sales, Carey lived a humble life. She shared a one-bedroom apartment, unfurnished except for a mattress on the floor. Carey also worked as a waitress and coat-check girl for $7,000 a year, while dishing out her music demos to anyone who would take one.
Finally, a demo landed in into the hands of music-biz honcho Tommy Mottola, and the rest is money-minting (and romantic) history. With a fairy-tale wedding, hit records and sold-out concerts, Carey became a megamillionaire with a jet-set life to match.
There's the 10-day, $100,000 ski getaways at Aspen's St. Regis resort. (This ski bunny only wears Chanel when she hits the slopes.) There's also the $600,000 piano formerly owned by Marilyn Monroe that no one is allowed to even touch. And if you're Carey, it even pays to get fired. You won't believe how many millions she was given to leave her record label.
And that's the warm up. Tune in to find out why Carey's first nickname was Mirage; how much she's willing to shell out keeping her dogs sleeping soundly; and how many times a day she changes her outfits.
Designer clothes, expensive wines and courtside seats at Lakers games. Don't doubt that it's really, really good to be Mariah Carey.

Carey Lands Diva Role In Dash Movie
Singing superstar Mariah Carey has filmed a cameo role as a disgruntled diva in Damon Dash's forthcoming movie State Property II.
The Roc-A-Fella Records boss is starring in, producing and directing the crime drama sequel to his 2002 film State PropertY, about three gangsters fighting to control the streets of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - which Dash has dubbed "an urban Snatch".
And despite reports over the years suggesting Carey is demanding and difficult to work with, Dash insists she was very down-to-earth and professional.
Dash explains, "She's very professional. Didn't complain. It's not the biggest movie. She didn't have the biggest trailer. It was cold. She just weathered the elements. She was a real trooper."
The hip-hop mogul, who used to be engaged to late singer Aaliyah, met up with the Honey hitmaker after she returned from her world tour.
Dash says, "I was telling her I was doing a movie and she said, 'Where's my part?'
"She said, 'Just make sure I look good.'"
When Carey arrived on set in Yonkers, just outside New York City, Dash said, "She had the whole world in a tizzy".

Anything Wrong With "I Love You"?
In a public park in Ipoh and in KLCC, lovers holding hands can be booked. Parts of the movies shown in the French and Japanese film festivals have been inexplicably blocked, while absurd dress codes have been imposed on Mariah Carey's concert in Kuala Lumpur.

Hamptons diary
A Fourth of July soft ball game between teams led by Russell Simmons and P. Diddy was rained out Monday — which gave Simmons a fine excuse to go sneaker shopping in East Hampton.
The hip-hop honcho took Kid Rock, Reverend Run of Run DMC, and Serena Williams and her boyfriend Brett Ratner to Blue and Cream where "Rush Hour" movie director Ratner bought Williams (size 8) a pair of trendy white crocodile Nike HTM kicks, which retail at a cool $400.
The sneakers are so hot, songbird Mariah Carey also phoned the shop recently to secure two pairs for her pal, birthday boy Randy Jackson (size 13).

Rapper faces charges
By Stacy Peterson
The rapper Jadakiss was charged in Fayetteville on Monday afternoon with having two concealed, loaded handguns and marijuana, lawmen say.
The rapper, whose real name is Jason T. Phillips, has the No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart this week.
The charges are misdemeanors, and Phillips is scheduled to appear in court 9 a.m. July 28.
Phillips was cited about 2:45 p.m. when an off-duty police officer saw someone throwing firecrackers from a window of Phillips' 2004 recreational vehicle.
The off-duty officer was working at the Food Lion in Cape Fear Plaza at Eastern Boulevard, according to Fayetteville police reports. According to a report by officer George Blanco, the citation was issued at 360 Eastern Blvd., near Grove Street.
The officer approached the RV and asked the occupants to stop throwing firecrackers.
The occupants continued, and he stopped the vehicle and saw the marijuana, the report said.
Concealed weapons
Sgt. Alex Thompson said the officer asked for a consent search and found two concealed .45-caliber Ruger pistols. Police found two clips that contained 15 bullets each, the report said. The guns were loaded, police say.
An internal memo from the supervising officer listed Phillips as a musician and the rapper known as Jadakiss.
The report says the officer found less than an ounce of marijuana in the RV. The handguns were under a pillow in the vehicle.
Thompson said Tuesday that eight people were in the RV, but only Phillips was cited.
He had been in town for a weekend appearance at the Carolina Live club on Raeford Road, said local promoter and playwright Garrett Davis. It is unclear why he and his crew were still in town Monday. His Interscope Records publicist could not be reached and did not return calls Tuesday. Owners of the Carolina Live club also could not be reached for comment.
The citation came the same day as the Foxy 99 Summer Jam 18 at the Crown Coliseum, which Davis helped to organize. The concert featured rappers Lloyd Banks and Young Buck of G-Unit. Rapper 50 Cent had been scheduled to perform, but did not appear.
Phillips, who found fame as Jadakiss, began his career in his hometown of Yonkers, N.Y. He was a member of the groups the Lox and Ruff Ryders, who rose to fame with the Notorious B.I.G. tribute "We'll Always Love Big Poppa." He went solo for his 2001 debut "Kiss That Game Goodbye" and "Kiss of Death," which was released in June.
That album features guest spots from Mariah Carey, Eminem, Kanye West, Pharrell and Snoop Dogg, among others.

Heroes comment: I posted this article, 'cause it could have an influence on the release of Jadakiss' next single from his album "Kiss of Death", let's hope the next single will be "U Make Me Wanna".

Olympic theme song
The news that Mariah could sing the Olympic Anthem is spreading very fast all around the world.  What surprises me is that all these news are refering to the Olympic Anthem and not to the Olympic theme song which is more frequently sang by celebrities.
Also, we don't have any news of what kind of song it could be.  We already know that in 2002 the Athens Olympic Committee asked to George Michael to write the theme song for the 2004 games, remember that George Michael is born in London from Greek parents and his real name is Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou.  So, will Mariah sing a George Michael song at the 2004 Olympic Games?  Wait and see.

More on Ralph Fiennes
At this moment, there's no official confirmation of his part in "The Prince and the Showgirl" as "The Prince".  But just in case, here are some infos on his career.  Ralph Fiennes is born in England in 1962.
Among the numerous movies where he acted are:
- Schindler's List (1993)
- The English Patient (1996)
- Red Dragon (2002)
- Maid in Manhattan (2002)
He was also the actor behind the voice of Ramses in The Prince of Egypt (1998).

Mariah Carey's search for leading man
Singing superstar Mariah Carey is still searching for a leading man to star opposite her on the London stage.
The Honey hitmaker is due to make her theatre debut in The Prince and the Showgirl in the West End this autumn (04) - and is reportedly pursuing Maid in Manhattan hunk Ralph Fiennes.
She tells British newspaper the Daily Star, "I need a strong Englishman, someone who can hold his own when next to me on stage and of course someone who is drop dead sexy."

Mellow Mariah?
Mariah Carey plays a disgruntled diva in Damon Dash's upcoming movie State Property II – but the sexy songbird was no prima donna on the set, says the hip-hop mogul. "She's very professional," he tells Daily Insider. "Didn't complain. It's not the biggest movie. She didn't have the biggest trailer. It was cold. She just weathered the elements. She was a real trouper."
Carey landed the cameo role just a few weeks ago after calling her pal Dash when she got home from her recent world tour. "I was telling her I was shooting a movie and she said, 'Where's my part?'" says Dash, who is directing and acting in the film, which he calls "an urban Snatch."
Two days later they met to go over the storyboards. "She said, 'Just make sure I look good.'" Apparently he did: When she showed up to the Yonkers, N.Y., set three days later, he says, "she had the whole set in a tizzy."
