| Los 40, #1 Radio Station in Spain, asks fans
"not to bother requesting Mariah at this station anymore"
Jeremy received that reply from the radio when he asked how it came last week, "We Belong Together" moved up from # 30 to # 26 and this week, the song disappeared from the chart. Apparently, there's a problem with that station, if a Spanish fan could find the reason why that station doesn't want the fans requesting Mariah anymore, please let us know. I hope it was not due to a "spam" request from non Spanish fans, it's not good at all to request in other countries, please be careful with that. Don't ask fans from other countries to request in your country, radio DJs are not that dumb, they always find it out. Posted on July the 31st. |

"We Belong Together" in the Belgian charts Official Belgian sales charts: July the 30th. - Ultratop 50 Singles Vlaanderen (Dutch speaking part of Belgium) -#19 (last week, #22) - Ultratop 40 Singles Wallonie (French speaking part of Belgium) -#30 (last week, #35) This is good news, as in Belgium they only released the cardboard sleeve 2 tracks single and at an expensive price (around 5 Euros = $6US) and there's no promotion for the song. Mariah Carey had to be carried around the set of her new video Shake It Off because she couldn't walk in the high-heeled shoes she chose for the shoot. But keen to dispel reports that her refusal to walk around was a further example of her bid to become a top pop diva, Carey told a TV crew covering the promo that she was in agony - and then insisted her make-up artist made it clear that the fancy shoes had left her feet bleeding. She complained, "I can't walk in these shoes and it's not because I'm being a diva... Laugh all you want, my feet hurt." Caring director Jake Nava immediately called for a pair of comfortable slippers, so his star could rest her weary feet - but that failed to impress Carey because she can't wear flat shoes. She explained, "My feet repel them." But British video director Nava still insisted working with Carey was a treat. He says, "She arrived on the set early and we worked well together. | The Karlsruhe concert was almost cancelled
too
A few days ago (see July the 22nd.) I reported that the city of Karlsruhe faces deficit due in part of the costs of the Open Air concerts. A German article reports now they almost cancelled Mariah's concert in Karlsruhe like they did for Bonn, due to poor sales. The contracts were signed by the mayor without the legal 2 required signatures from representatives of the city. It became a politic case but the attorneys in charge of the case didn't charged mayor Groh. Posted on July the 29th. |

Mariah Carey shakes it off in her next video — so much so that she's practically nude, twice. Not that we get to see much, of course, but Carey keeps viewers guessing during the Jake Nava-directed "Shake It Off" as she costume-changes her way through a breakup that starts with her in the bath and ends when she drops her robe. Carey reaches the realization she has to "shake you off" while lying in a bathtub overflowing with water and rose petals: "Just like the Calgon commercial/ I really gotta get up out of here." So she leaves a message for her lover while sitting on top of the dining room table, decked out in bright blue makeup and high heels: "By the time you get this message/ It's gonna be too late/ So don't bother paging me/ 'Cause I'll be on my way," she sings into the phone. Still, her mind must not be that made up, because she manages to change yet again, before grabbing her bag and heading out the door as she sings, "So I packed up my Louis Vuitton/ Jumped in your ride and took off." It takes her a bit to jump in that ride, because first she has to stroll down "Emancipation Street," where shops are called "So So Fetch" and "Pink Yet Lavender," and schoolgirls do a sort of shake dance at the pay phones. Jermaine Dupri, who produced the sparse, thumping, mid-tempo track, also pops up on a television screen and on street corners to give a little guidance, with suggestions like "Check this out" and "Bounce." When Carey does get in the car, with a possible new love in tow, it's time to leave another message to remind her ex that she's found out about his cheating ways "with this one and that one/ By the pool, on the beach, in the streets." Her phone breaks up as she drives past the "Hollyhood" sign, so she tells him, "Hold on," singing, "Save this recording, because I'm never coming back home." After performing the chorus in two more settings — the bleachers of a football game and a stage with her name in lights ("Mimi," that is) — Carey finally shakes off the song itself, lip-synching the second track where she does more of her vocal gymnastics, instead of the main melody. She then slips out of her robe and walks into the sunset, with the glare obscuring whether she's wearing anything at this point. | No "Walk of Fame" for Mariah yet, but an honorific
place in the "Straße der Stars" in Leipzig.
Tourism manager of Leipzig reports that starting from August, the city of Leipzig (Germany) will have a kind of "Walk of Fame" called "Straße der Stars". Richard Scrink got this idea in 1998 when he already made the first hand prints of Thomas Gottschalk, Mariah Carey, Joe Cocker, Jon Bon Jovi and Aerosmith. The three-dimensional hand prints are made in a special material. He also added personal effects of other famous people. This can be seen in the old city and will be part of a tourist attraction. 500 to 800 visitors a day are expected to visit the Leipzig "Walk of Fame". Posted on July the 28th. |

Universal Music Group First Half: Universal Music Group's (UMG) revenues of EUR 2,092 million were up 9% on a comparable basis(2) and at constant currency, driven by very strong sales in North America and growth in Germany, the U.K., Australia and Latin America. Digital sales represented 4.9% of UMG's total revenues. Best sellers were new releases from 50 Cent, Mariah Carey, The Game and Black Eyed Peas in addition to very strong carryover sales from Gwen Stefani, The Killers and Akon. In the U.S., total album unit sales for the industry as measured by SoundScan (3) fell 7.6%; however, UMG outperformed the market with a 9.3% increase in sales driving a 5 percentage point increase in market share to 32.0%. Second Quarter: UMG's revenues of EUR 1,054 million were up 5% on a comparable basis and at constant currency, reflecting very strong sales in North America and growth in on-line and mobile activity. Even though it is only halfway through, summer 2005 has provided us with quite a few tunes that have the scent of summer all over them. The biggest hit so far is Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together." The song, which has been No. 1 on The Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, makes a little chart history this week. | N.O.R.E's "1 Fan a day" finally out in September?
We're waiting for such a long time now for that album which features "Friendz" with Mariah. Apparently we can expect a September release. A lot of problems surfaced when N.O.R.E switched from Def Jam to sign with Roc-A-Fella. There was a lot of confusion and now he's back to Def Jam to finally putting out his new album "1 Fan a Day" and later this year his reggaeton album, but he still don't know on what label it will be released. Also, he says that he will give the joints who were not used for his album to the streets. A couple weeks ago, Nas and N.O.R.E had an altercation at a club and N.O.R.E threw a flower pot at his friend. They were ready to make "Body in the Trunk Part 2" but it will probably never gonna happen. N.O.R.E just released his new mixtape "Hang Hang Sangria". Posted on July the 24th. |

In the music industry, as in solid-waste management, recycling is a thorny issue. Debates still rage over whether the effort to recycle is worthwhile, and the laments continue over how hard it is to find a market for recycled material. This summer, however, musical recycling is suddenly all the rage, Like Akon’s appropriation of Bobby Vinton’s “Mr. Lonely” for the hit “Lonely” (Universal), Kanye West’s “Diamonds of Sierra Leone” (Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam) shows how potent it can be to take a known song – in this case, Shirley Bassey’s “Diamonds Are Forever” – and twist it into something new. West’s single not only carries the flag for the Roc-A-Fella rap dynasty, mixing serious and jokey the way Jay-Z did, but it shows that his production skills continue to improve as well. West even cleverly drops in the “Forever? Forever-ever?” line from OutKast’s “Ms. Jackson,” though Mariah Carey goes him one better on the remix of “We Belong Together” (Island). While Carey teases old-school fans with a hint of The Deele’s 1987 hit “Two Occasions” on the original “We Belong Together,” she busts out the whole chorus on the remix, which gets roughed up, in a good way, by appearances from Jadakiss and Styles. Mariah was soooo incredible at the press conference, all the questions were related to the album and today the press has been releasing some good articles about her visit, which is awesome and, of course, good promotion for the album! I arrived in Barcelona on 21st and I’ve just come back home. I got to see Mariah a couple of times at her hotel. I was also at the press conference. Then, she changed clothes and got an appropiate outfit because she wanted to visit the Tibidabo Amusement Park, but first and before she left her hotel, me and my friends were able to talk to her for 10 minutes, get some autographs and a picture in group! Thanks much Mariah for being such a great person!!!

Excited and nervous young people,TV cameras... What happened yesterday evening in the luxurious Hotel Gran Florida in Barcelona? The answer. Mariah Carey presented her new album "The Emancipation of Mimi" in Spain. In the press conference, journalists were tired of waiting and a group of fans who won a contest and ready to wait the needed time to see their idol. got the idea to do a same action for "Shake It Off" in Atlanta and asked
me if it would bother me if she used the Heroes of Mariah idea, of course
not, it doesn't bother me, go ahead guys, if only everyone in each state
and country could do the same, wouldn't it be awesome .

A lot of Spanish articles are now appearing on the net, the Spanish press seems to discover only now that Mariah has a new album out. That Deutsche Bank event was a good promotion. A lot of fans waited outside the hotel, driving nuts the security. Mariah, hopes she can come back soon for a Tour. Also she would like to sing some songs in Spanish but not before she has a good Spanish accent. Too bad, some press thought it was spiritual to make fun of her  .

Ka-News reports today that the city of Karlsruhe and Messe-Manager are facing critics about a deficit of 13,5 Millions Euro and talks about the 2 Open Air concerts that they call Open Air-Flops. (Seal and Mariah Carey). The benefits didn't cover the costs of the concerts and the city lost 150.000 Euro ( +/- $180.200US) I attended Mariah's concert in Karlsruhe and it was far of being sold out, too bad the concerts were not promoted in a good way, many people in the Karlsruhe area didn't even know there were concerts, not even in the hotel were I stood in the city center. | Mariah at the "Staatslotterij" show
Yesterday, I attended the taping of the "Staatslotterij" show in Amsterdam. Mariah arrived by boat at this wonderful place. The stage was on the water and a lot of boats were in front. Mariah performed "It's Like That" and was very funny, as she could barely move in her beautiful blue dress, she said: " That dress is a drama" .
Then she performed "We Belong Together" and got a lot of applauds from the crowd. At the fans' great surprise the third song was "Stay The Night". Mariah was absolutely great, nice and funny as usual. It was a great night, the sun was shining, the place was wonderful, the people were festive and it was really a great experience. A special thanks to the wonderful people I met during the performances and who helped me out with the translations and stuff .
I also met Josephine who was there with her cutie lil kid . Sadie and
I couldn't stop waiving bye bye .

A lot of websites, media, radios, TV channels are reporting the dress incident that happend during Mariah's concert in Karlsruhe. Some go way too far, Power 92 radio station in Peoria even invited their listeners to join their message board to see a picture of the incident, which was a false, of course as nothing happend. Yesterday, even Jay Leno reported it and made fun of Mariah. Also, some fans e-mailed me to tell some fan site posted a false picture of Mariah in their news and asked me if it's a real picture, I can't believe what some are ready to do to attrack people on their site. A fan site is not a gossip magazine, a fan site is normally made to support Mariah and help other fans, well that's my vision. I already posted on July the 12th. that it's all rumors and lies. Cris, a spanish fan and his friends went to see Mariah's concert in Germany and they had the chance to talk to Trey and some others from Mariah's staff and they told them that Mariah will go to Barcelona (Spain). She will arrive on July the 21st. at night (between 9.30pm and 1am) and the 22nd. she will do some interviews for tv and radio and she will leave Spain at night. Her bodyguard said that the hotel is not decided yet, but Mark looked at the itinerary and he said that it could be the hotel "Eurostars Gran Marina" in Barcelona, a 5 stars hotel near the port and the beach. Also, Trey and Raychel said "MC WANTSSSSS to see the beach!!". So the fans think it could be that hotel. The nearest subway station is called: Drassanes (green line L3). After the dress incident, worldwide press publishes a lot of rumors and lies about the Karlsruhe incident. Worse, the site "The Bosh" (I don't know if it's exactly a media site) uses a picture taken by a fan to illustrate their rumors, a picture where you can't see anything, 'cause there was nothing to see. Peter, if I were you I would claim copyrights for the picture.
Mariah had no chance in Germany this time, first the "Gottschalk & Friends" humiliation, now all the lies spread around the world. In Karlsruhe, at the moment of the incident, Mariah said " if I let it go, it will be a scandal all over the press accross the world", well she was right, it's all over the press but with lies. By Jasmine Dotiwala For Live 8, MTV had me working under overwrought but exciting circumstances in the director’s gallery cutting the show for MTV America’s transmission. It was 13 hours of being seated in the same seat in a dark, multi-screened room where my usual garrulous self was put to rest and I had a bird’s-eye view of the most exclusive footage of the biggest musical show in the world. Ever. Most exciting was editing Mariah Carey’s performance set as I was really mixing business with pleasure and was proud of her. Before she went on stage she confided to me, “they love calling me a diva in your country so I’m going to be just that.” She then she asked for her water person onstage and demanded a mic stand at the last minute – oh how we sniggered when the press responded as they always do. Pulll-eezzz! Get a life peeps, at least she turned up in her free time and actually sang-in tune for y’all unlike Madonna who admitedly worked the crowd; but when she attempted those long high melodic notes I saw animals across the globe collapsing in shock. What you didn’t see was the time and love-Mariah gave the 50 kids in the African choir backstage whose parents have all passed away from AIDS-related illnesses. Snoop was hype and really was the only act to have the 200,000 strong crowd jumping and partying. (Everyone was bitchin’ ‘bout Paris Hilton who wouldn’t let fans take a pic with her – daft girl!) After the show we all had a private screening at MC’s penthouse suite at the Sanderson Hotel before collapsing exhausted at 6am. The next day we both had call times at 8am for
full days of press. During the afternoon I walked both Mariah (and her
ultra opulent manager the infamous Benny Medina) across to Mr Jerks shop
in Wardour St only for him to be shut! Our craving for West Indian food
was rescued by my mate Ian Burrell who runs Cottons restaurant in Camden
and couriered us over a carload of food so we were stuffed with plantain
and jerk chicken for the next week! Thanks Ian – you swung it on home for
our hungry bellies – you gangsta and we luv ya!

I watched again several times the interview of Mariah at "Gottschalk & Friends", and I'm not able to quote exactly what Mariah says, as it's dubbed in German and you can't understand every word Mariah says as it's covered by the voice of the German translator. Mariah is indeed talking about Amsterdam (what I didn't notice before Adi pointed it out) and her new video "Say Something". I checked Snoop's Tour dates and he's free on 13 and 14 July. | Mariah gave "Her All" in Karlsruhe
I'm not gonna give an entire review of each song performed by Mariah Saturday night in Karlsruhe, but as I already received a lot of e-mails regarding the concert, I'll post all what's needed here in the news, so I will not answer all of you guys, individually. - I arrived at the open air area by the special bus the city organised to bring people to the concert, there was a bus leaving from the station each 10 minutes starting 4h00pm. We were 4 people inside and the driver was making fun of the fact the bus was almost empty. - The security people checked the bags, no cameras, no bottles, etc... as stated in the rules of the Karlsruhe Messe. - We were very surprised and kinda sad to see there were at that moment only about 500 people. - The first act started to sing, Gino Castelli and his party band were huh... no comments, the guy sang 1h30 and repeated several times the same songs. - For some reasons, I couldn't stay that long at the same place, so I needed to walk a little, it was very hot, and a lot of people were sitting on the grass in the shadow. - The second act was an older guy, Stefan Gwildis who seemed popular and kinda loved by the crowd. - My dad went to talk a little to the organizers and following their infos, there were about 3.250 people attending the concert. Now, to make it clear, this was and was never announced as a Tour concert, it was announced and was a promotional concert. A guy announced Mariah, but some stuffs were not ready on the stage, they needed to fix something on the lights, Mariah was there and to entertain the crowd while waiting for the Messe crew to fix things, Rachel and Mariah were joking (behind the curtain, we could only hear their voices). Finally, Mariah appeared on stage and said: "Thanks to the organisators for their timeless settings" .
She sang: It's Like That - Dreamlover - My All (followed by My All/Stay Awhile) - Heartbreaker (followed by Heartbreaker remix) - Shake It Off - Always Be My Baby - Close My Eyes - Honey (rap version) - We Belong Together - Make It Happen - Hero. Encore: Vision Of Love - Without You. Trey sang 2 songs and was very funny and entertained the audience. Trey and Sadie danced on the stage. Sadie was really, really cute and she looked like a mini Rachel. We Belong Together was almost the same version as for the MTV Movie Awards, with a longer Glenn Miller intro. At one moment, Mariah asked for a micstand and said: "but not in 20 years darling" and when someone brought it, she was like: "ohhhhhhhhhh".
When Mariah sang the last note of Vision of Love, her dress had a problem, one of the straps broke and it was so funny, she was holding her dress with one hand, saying: "I was gonna do Without You, but thanks to the dress... I'll need to say Guttenacht." Then, talking to the styling team (which was backstage), "You need to fix your things together" then Mariah laughed and said... "if I let it go, it will be a scandal all over the press accross the world... does someone have a sweater?..." .
Mariah talked almost all the show the way she talks in her voice messages. The night was warm, the stars were shining, there was such an emotion in the air that I saw more than one person with tears in their eyes, me included. When the concert was over, there were no busses to return from the Messe to the city, so we needed to walk very far to take a tramway, my legs and my feet still hurts, ok, you don't care .
A lil' conclusion: Mariah sang all the songs live and full voice, don't start to comment about it if you weren't there. Another little note, it's not Mariah's choice to go to one or another country, it's up to the promoters to invite Mariah for a promo concert, appearance, etc... Last little note: These were the most beautiful performances I ever saw and heard. Like I said, for some reasons, I can't stay that long at the same place and 6 hours standing was way too much for me, but if I had to do it again, I would do it without hesitation. I'll probably need a few days to be in good condition again, but I'll never forget that night. | ZDF Issues An Apology To Mariah & Fans
The German show "Exclusiv" (aired on RTL) just reported the following information regarding last night's "Gottschalk & Friends" show: "Exclusiv" has received a huge amount of e-mails and calls from fans urging them to report Oliver Pocher's horrible behavior towards Mariah. Some of the mail was read. Although she remained calm during the show, it was reported that Mariah had left the studios angry. Mike Krüger, another guest on last night's show was interviewed and commented that he applauds Mariah for not walking out in the middle of the show. He said that any other artist would have probably left the studios. The TV channel ZDF has issued an apology to Mariah and her fans for the horrible treatment she's received on the show. The management of Oliver Pocher, the offensive comedian, was not ready to comment on the matter. The big German newspaper "Bild" commented on the incident, saying Pocher completely misbehaved and that is not the way to treat a superstar like Mariah. The radio station N1 also commented on the show, stating that Pocher was tactless and that Gottschalk should have stood up for Mariah. They praised Mariah for being down to earth. Friends" show
As I critic every show or article which disrecpect Mariah, I needed to make a comment on the "Gottschalk & Friends" show we have seen yesterday evening on the German channel ZDF. I understand German enough to follow a show and understand mainly what's going on. And the images spoke for themselves too. Last night, Thomas Gottschalk lost the control of his show. At first before Mariah arrived they were making jokes about her. When Mariah arrived in the studio Thomas Gottschalk began to interview Mariah but was always interrupted by a so said comedian who seems popular in Germany. The guy made remarks about Mariah's dress and even spit water on her. She looked confused and kinda mad, but as a great professional she played the game and said something like: "This is not fair, you're making fun of me in German, imagine you were sitting between me and Snoop and Jay-Z and we talk in slang " This show was messed up, people in the audience were laughing as hell with the stupid jokes of that guy. I'm almost sure there were no fans in that show, even if I saw some with a board and a HBF t-shirt, 'cause if there were some, I don't know why they didn't booed the guy and supported Mariah. Mister Gottschalk, when you invite a guest at your show, you should at least show some respect and ask the other guests and the audience to show some respect too. Guys, e-mail the show like I did, tell them how bad you feel with what happend. By Roger Friedman So much more to report from the London Live 8 concert, both from backstage and all around. But the big question remains: What happened to Mick Jagger? He was supposed to appear at the end of the show with Paul McCartney. But Jagger was a complete no-show, never setting foot in Hyde Park. McCartney, meanwhile, changed his planned set at the last minute, adding "Drive My Car," with George Michael on vocals, and "Helter Skelter." The latter was a surprise and a weird choice, since it's a John Lennon song and one embraced by monstrous serial killer Charles Manson. I know McCartney likes people to think he's edgy, but really, "Long Tall Sally" would have been better suited to the occasion. So what of Mick? He was seen in the first-class section of a New York-to-London flight earlier in the week, working hard on a laptop computer. Maybe he's finally remembered enough anecdotes to put together an autobiography. Or he's putting the finishing touches on the new Stones album. In any case, I'm told he was very amused by the goings-on in his first-class cabin concerning our very own Mariah Carey. Now, mind you, at Live 8 I had an extremely pleasant time with Carey in her dressing-room area, where she entertained fans seeking autographs, as well as Snoop Dogg and the legendary Charlie Wilson of the Gap Band. She also played hostess to Bob Geldof, who stopped in to thank her for coming such a long distance. (Carey had a July 4th gig in the U.S. that she couldn't miss, which meant an instant turnaround.) Here's the thing about Mariah: She is a diva, and she doesn't even know it. While I sat with her, she sent back her spaghetti-and-meat-sauce dinner three times — because it had cheese on it. It's not like she's allergic to cheese, either. It's that she could smell that the grated parmesan came from a jar and wasn't fresh. ("It's a thing I've had since fourth grade," she said.) It was kind of hilarious. On the other hand, Mariah's performance at Live 8 was, I thought, spectacular. And by the way, did you notice that Randy Jackson of "American Idol" fame, her longtime producer, was her bandleader for the night? On "Hero," Mariah went into what I would call a triple lutz, a complicated, fluttering note that sent goosebumps into the audience. The British fans loved her, no matter what their critics say. I was standing in the middle of a crowd, including Oscar-winning actress Faye Dunaway, that could not get enough of her. But Mariah is Mariah. She was supposed to sing "Vision of Love," not "Hero," but changed her mind at the last minute. The reason? She told me she wanted to accommodate the African Children's Choir, and with "Hero" they could get more singing time. And Carey — unlike Madonna and many other stars — stuck around and participated in the big finale. She gets credit for that in abundance. But I digress. Back on the flight, where Mick was furiously word-processing, Carey — my spies reveal — did not like the placement of her first-class seat. She felt on inspection that Jeff Kwatinetz, owner of the Hollywood management company The Firm, had the better set-up. So she politely asked if she could change with him. Kwatinetz was sitting with his colleague, Peter Katsis, who complied with Carey. That left the singer sitting with Kwatinetz for six hours, while her own manager — the incomparable Benny Medina — was left to his own devices. Making Mariah's presence in the first-class section even more interesting was her personal entourage, who apparently did not leave her unattended for a minute of the six-hour flight. "Even Mick looked a little shocked that there was always a circle of people around Mariah," my spy observed. A circle — and a cloud of powder. Mariah, meantime, gets the last laugh. She has the No. 1 album of the summer, two hit singles (and maybe two or three more to come) and can look forward to a passel of Grammy nominations and lots of other less reputable but highly publicize-able awards when the fall season kicks in. She's off to the island of Capri for part of the summer, but not before Island/DefJam's L.A. Reid charters a yacht for her, Medina, their gang and his family to float around the Mediterranean and celebrate "The Emancipation of Mimi." The city did a great job to organise travel facilities from the station to the Messe (where Mariah will give a concert), Every 10 minutes, starting at 16h00, a bus will leave the main station to bring people to the fair and the same when the concert is over. Mariah Carey says that Snoop Dog was her favourite performer at Live 8 this weekend. Speaking as a guest on today's TRL, the mightily chested superstar vocalist who herself performed at Live 8, reflected upon the gigantic concert and singled out Snoop as her highlight. "I enjoyed everybody," Mariah told Dave, looking resplendent in a shiny blue dress (Mariah, not Dave). "There were huge legends there that I was just honoured to be sharing a space with." We Belong Together Belgian Challenge For the release of "We Belong Together" in Belgium, Heroes of Mariah launched the We Belong Together Belgian Challenge. The goal of this action was to contact the most possible Belgian radios and to ask them to play for sure the track on July the 1st., even if it was not added to their playlist. July the 1st. was the We Belong Together Belgian Challenge day! A lot of radios agreed to take part. Roland-Pierre, student in media and marketting (Université de Liège) did the evaluation. Following his stats, this action reached approximately 4.700.000 people in Belgium out of the 11.000.000 people living in Belgium.

Most of us have no words for Mariah's performance at the Live 8 concert, as there are no words for Perfection, unfortunately some of course needed to trash. BBC for example, as they didn't find anything negative to say about the performance, decided to slam Mariah 'cause she drank water on the stage, ok, when other people drink, they are thirsty, when Mariah drinks, she's a diva .
Some fans, the same ones who become deaf, spit out their critics too, but who cares about these ones, not me anymore. 
Oh, did you notice Victoria Beckham singing along "We Belong Together" in David's arms? And Randy Jackson was playing bass on stage. And Paul McCartney who asked Mariah to sing her style at the finale. Oh.... what else? Mariah Carey overhauled her Live 8 set in London yesterday (02Jul05) after hearing the Children's Choir of Africa on Friday night (01Jul05). The pop star's singing teacher Mary Ann was working with the choir as Carey was putting the finishing touches to her performance plans, and she urged the diva to include the youngsters in her set. Carey tells MTV News, "I changed my set list because of the Children's Choir of Africa because once I heard their voices I had to have them. "I was like, 'Oh, I have to do Hero with them.'" | Absolutely AMAZING!!!!!
I'm sure you have all seen by now Mariah's performance at the Live8 in Hyde Park, London. No words can be found to describe that great performance, so I'm not gonna write anything, and just let you watch it over and over again like I will do myself. However, I'm gonna say a little something, in my opinion (and not only 'cause I'm a Mariah fan), Mariah was the only performer who clearly gave the message, who better than Mariah with her black roots could pass the message with such a tenderness. Oh, another little word, did you saw how Victoria Beckham sang along "We Belong Together"? Thanks Mariah for all what you give!

| Not 'cause of some rules
The reason why Mariah will not sing "We Belong Together" is not because of some Live8 rules as reported before by a UK fan. We all just saw Snoop's performance, and he sang "Drop It Like It's Hot" and his latest single "Sign", so there aren't some said rules. Who know, maybe..... Mariah will perform "Make It Happen" and "Vision of Love" at the London concert. "We Belong Together" was originally on her set list but was dropped because there's a rule that performers can't sing their current songs. Also, on BBC news Mary Ann was rehearsing with a kids choir, so expect "Make It Happen" with a kids choir. We can definitely forget the duet with Snoop, as the rules don't allow it. - The organisers of the Live 8 say that those who miss out on a ticket should stay away from Hyde Park on Saturday, as room will be severely limited. - Saturday will be hell in London, as a lot of roads in the city will be closed due to the London Pride 2005. - Check the subway stations who will be open/closed, as a lot of stations in the Hyde Park area will be closed. - Remember, Mariah will rest Friday, Saturday until the concert and will spend the day in her hotel Sunday. "Hi, I was in front of the hotel where Mariah stays in London, I was there since 3pm, it seems Mariah arrived late and one of her bodyguards came out to tell us that Mariah wouldn't come out anymore. I waited a little more and then I left a little disappointed but I'm aware Mariah doesn't owe us anything, it's our fault if we wait in front of her hotel. It's a risk. But today, I read Mariah came outside later for photographs and greeted the fans who still waited outside. I'm not mad, I'm disappointed. Why does her staff need to lie to the fans? I travelled over from France to see Mariah, it's my fault . - The record company launch party for "We Belong Together" was held at the "Funky Buda" nightclub in London. Mariah was not expected to attend. - Mariah confirmed yesterday that she would not sing "Never Too Far" or "Always Be My Baby" at the Live 8 when her fans requested it outside the hotel. The reasons given: Never Too Far - nobody will know the lyrics! Always Be My baby - the song was not popular enough in the UK! - Mariah loves the UK limited edition "We Belong Together" 12inch Picture Vinyl. She was suprised (she had never seen it before) when she was presented with it to get autographed yesterday outside the hotel. - Mariah has a mild throat infection and is under vocal rest.
