The Don't Forget About Us video premiered on MTV today
Mariah looks gorgeous in the video....lots of performances scenes and another hot male model. There is a scene with her in this short black kinds tight dress.....another scene with her on the ground in like white lingerie.
There's a scene with her and this guy playing football and rolling around and playing in the net.....there is another scene with them in a pool and a scene by herself in the pool with her hair kinda up....then another scene with both of them in a car. Then there is a scene with her in the car by herself in his winter jacket.
So its like almost all scenes there is one with him and then one with her remembering in a sense.
During the bridge when shes saying she cant do it like me...the male model is looking at her laughing.
The video ends with her in his winter jacket and she looks so cute under the hood.

Is Belgium's "Get Your Number" 2 track single an exclusive version????????

The single is now available in Belgian stores and it seems we have a exclusive version. As the cardboard sleeve single is the only one which will be released in Belgium (we don't have maxi-singles anymore or just from a few artists), it seems the tracklist is different from what will be released in other countries.
Tracklist:
- Get Your Number
- Shake It Off Remix featuring Jay-Z and Young Jeezy
The single is also available online at Free Record Shop BE.
But the site messed up the picture, the one you find in Belgium is the one featured on the picture I posted.
International fans, you can buy it from Free Record Shop too, as they ship worldwide.  As the site is in French and in Dutch, if you need help, just ask me and I'll explain you how to proceed.

"Shake It Off" video received 2 million requests in 24 hours on Yahoo Music!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Music video audience migrates to Web
On Nov. 1, Internet media giant Yahoo will launch two music video services, and both efforts illustrate the Internet's growing dominance among music video media.
One will feature the online debut of a different music video each weekday. The videos will be available online at Yahoo exclusively for 24 hours. Most will be world premieres, though some will have simultaneous TV releases. The focus is mainstream acts.
"The Internet is now leading where the music video business is going," Yahoo head of programming and label relations Jay Frank says.
Even MTV has embraced the Internet. The network launched its Overdrive site to help keep music video fans engaged with the MTV brand.
Label executives equate featured placement of a video on AOL or Yahoo with appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone, in terms of exposure. For instance, Mariah Carey's "Shake It Off" video received 2 million requests in the first 24 hours it was available on Yahoo Music, compared with 500,000 requests on MTV's "TRL."

It was not Germany, it was Russia
This morning, we thought Mariah left New York to go to Germany (see the news below), but it was to go to Russia where Mariah is at the moment, she will be leaving tonight to go back to the United States.

Heroes comment: We don't know the reason at this moment, but it's maybe a kind of lil' performance for Russian billionaire businessmen like it already happened last January (see article I posted on February the 5th.)

"So Lonely" new version
B96 played the "So Lonely" version of the Ultra Platinum Edition, it seems the intro was different and right after it Mariah put her verse in it and it seemed it had less Twista on it....then towards the end it seemed as if the beat was slightly different and that Mariah rerecorded the high note part.

Merry Christmas re-issue in some US stores now
Not all US stores had the Merry Christmas re-issue on sale today, some stores didn't even know it was in their own stock until several fans asked them to check and finally found it.  The DVD side seems interesting. The "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" anniversary mix claymation is cute and another video of the JD remix of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town where the animated Mariah is the same one from the Heartbreaker video. The main menu screen has the CD cover with snow fallin down. When you play the songs off the dvd they each have a different holiday picture to accompany them.  There are some quotes from the bible on the cd sleeve.

Not directly Mariah related, but as Cam is one of Mariah's friends.....
Cam'ron Shot In Failed Carjacking Attempt
Rapper shot once in each arm early Sunday morning
Cam'ron is recuperating after being shot early Sunday morning in what appears to be a failed carjacking attempt, according to the rapper's representatives.
A spokesperson and a source within the the MC's Diplomats camp have confirmed Cam'ron was shot around 2:10 a.m. Sunday morning (October 23) in Washington, D.C. However, police have refused to release any details or even confirm the shooting as of press time.
Cam'ron was driving away from the popular D.C. nightclub H2O in his blue Lamborghini when an unknown number of men tried to carjack him, according to the rapper's camp. They pulled up in their own vehicle and demanded Cam turn over his car.
When Cam'ron did not cooperate, they fired multiple shots inside the car, shattering glass and hitting Cam'ron once in each arm, according to his rep. The leader of the Diplomats was taken to a nearby hospital and is said to be resting and doing fine.
Cam'ron has generally avoided keeping a team of security guards around him. He can often be spotted in New York by himself or with a few friends, cruising in one of his vehicles, shopping or signing autographs.
The rapper was in D.C. participating in the festivities surrounding Howard University's homecoming this weekend. He's promoting his new movie and album, both called "Killa Season" and due in February.

"So Lonely" remix?
Last night, I took part to a worldwide online chat where I talked to a lot of DJ's from almost every part of the world.  It was really great!!! Ok, you don't care .
While talking, I discretly talked about Mariah lol, suddently a DJ (a big name) talked about "So Lonely" and the remix , I was like, whaaaat?  He then said that Twista's album " The Day After" has been completely remixed by Paul (I was ...hum, oh yeah....), all the DJ's began to talk about Paul's work and how his "Peoples Champ" made it to #1 on Billboard, etc.... they then talked about a lot of other interesting stuff.  We ended the chat at 3am and I was very tired.  Sooo, today, while reading all the notes I took, I quickly found out who was Paul, it was Paul Wall, and yes he made the Screwed and Chopped version of Twista's "The Day After" which will be released early November.
To make it short:
On Twista's "The Day After (Chopped & Screwed) remixed by rapper/DJ, Paul Wall, there will probably be a remix of "So Lonely"
You can already preorder the album on Amazon.

More pics of Mariah at Power 106
Soooo, as you know, Mariah was on Power 106 in LA yesterday,  and towards the end of the interview they were joking around by "rollin out" Mariah because she kept singing "Big Boy in the morning" in a really low whispery tone and they were pretending to be pissed and were like "OK Mariah, we get the fact that you're a singer, damn already"... so then they did a "roll out" while playing Ludacris's song 'Roll Out'

Behind the scenes at the world's glitziest fund-raising event
Organiser Dylan Jones rubs shoulders with the rich and famous and reveals all
The event I'd spent the last year and a bit planning, Swarovski Fashion Rocks, was finally taking place. Due to the enormous hard work of hundreds of incredibly talented people, and with the help of 12 of the world's most celebrated fashion designers and 14 of the world's biggest pop acts, it was actually, really, spectacularly happening.
After the show, there was an Alain Ducasse dinner for 900 attended by Blondie, Rachel Stevens, Donatella Versace, Vivienne Westwood, Emma Bunton, Simon Fuller, Victoria Beckham, Roberto Cavalli, Jon Bon Jovi and many others. As the Universal boss Lucian Grainge led Mariah Carey through the throng, and the Arcadia chief Philip Green chatted to Prince Albert, it suddenly seemed like we were all swirling around in a modern day Fellini movie, the sweet life accompanied by Moët champagne and Swarovski necklaces. It was a blast. Not only did we raised vital funds for the Prince's Trust, but Swarovski Fashion Rocks was, in the words of one resident: "The most glamorous event Monaco has ever seen." As my wife said at the dinner, sandwiched delicately between Ozzy Osbourne and Jeremy Irons: "Darling, this is rather nice."

Mariah called in to the Russ Parr morning show this morning
Mariah called in to the Russ Parr morning show (hot 102.1) this morning on air. It was so funny because at first, they attempted to play "Don't Forget About Us" but I guess it was the instrumental version because the beat just kept going on and on and on! So they played "Shake it Off" and THEN Don' Forget About Us right after that. Then Russ was like "Hey! We got Mariah on the phone! What's up Mariah?!" Her interview was short but good. Russ acted like he had a huge crush on her and said she should call the song "Don't Forget About RUSS" lol. So she sang it like that and he acted crazy! It was a great interview.

"Don't Forget About Us"
Don’t Forget About Us. That song sparked label head L.A. Reid to instigate the relaunch, Carey says. She and Dupri were trying to figure out what to do with the song because we loved it so much, we didn't want to wait until the next album to send it to radio.

Mariah loves and practices the English accent
First we were saddled with wannabe Englishwoman Madonna, now gorgeous Mariah Carey is intent on perfecting her English accent.
Our Kiki overheard Mariah, 35, practising her clipped vowels on her old friend Donatella Versace during the Fashion Rocks dinner on Monday night.
"Dahling, I won't stop working on my accent until it's perfect," she told 3am. "I do this thing where I call my friends in my English accent to see if they can tell who I am. It's so funny when it works but I can only do it once as all my friends have caught on."
The soul diva couldn't stop gushing about her love for Blighty, saying: "I can't wait to get back to London but I'm stuck in LA until after the American Music Awards in November. But nothing will keep me away for long, dahling."
That's music to our ears, Mariah.

Who is Mariah's mysterious suitor? (no guys, it wasn't me )
A mystery man has been wooing stunning singer Mariah Carey with buckets of bling.
The curvy 35-year-old was sent a diamond ring and matching bracelet at the Hotel de Paris ahead of the Monaco show. And staff there were run off their feet finding vases for the enormous bouquets of flowers the singer was receiving.
A source told us: "Mariah was so excited with the diamonds she wore them for her gig on Monday. The guy is definitely after a date and with all the effort he's been to who knows what might happen?"
Mariah, whose single Don't Forget About Us is out in December, was decked out by top designer and pal Donatella Versace. Our mole continues: "Mariah looked amazing in one of the most expensive dresses Donatella has ever made. She loved her outift saying she felt like a mermaid in it and the Swarovski crystals made everything extra dazzling."
Come on Mariah, tell your 3am pals, who is this Romeo?

Making The Video - Mariah "Get Your Number" on MTV Europe
Weds 19th October at 2030 CET
In this video for her funky new duet with Jermaine Dupri, watch as Mariah gets down in a club and - surprise, surprise - gets her cleavage out yet again!
See Jermaine work the room trying to get numbers for his phone, meet Jack, Mariah's prized, and slightly temperamental pooch, and check out the largest pink sofa ever, as Mariah cavorts over it pouting and posing as if her life depended on it.
But Mariah isn't just a pretty pouting face - no - just listen to her amazing English accent, gawp as she pours herself into a skin tight rubber yellow dress, and ok yeah, she can sing pretty damn well too!
But Mariah Carey video shoots just don't run smoothly, and this one is no different. After the first day of shooting Mariah gets sick and leaves the poor director to attempt to shoot a Mariah video without Mariah. Managing to fumble through day two, day three of the shoot eventually arrives, but not until 10 days later when Mariah returns to full health. And you can't help but think that director Jake Nava gets a certain amount of satisfaction from making her crawl and climb all over a giant sized telephone to complete the video. That'll teach you to play the diva Mariah!
Tune in a check it all out for yourself, right here on Making The Video Mariah Carey "Get Your Number".

Where's Michael? Is he or isn’t he making a Katrina benefit CD? Only Michael Jackson knows.
Nothing is ever easy or quick when it comes to Michael Jackson projects. The latest example: Last month, the fading pop star loudly trumpeted plans to record an all-star charity single for Hurricane Katrina victims. Now that plan, which called for a CD to be ready in two weeks, is either falling behind schedule or simply falling apart, depending on whom you ask.
Charles A. Bobbit, executive vice president of James Brown Enterprises, said, "We heard from Michael's people last week.... It's been pushed back about one or two more weeks. We're told that the song wasn't as Michael wanted it but that it is going forward."
But the manager for a Grammy-winning artist whose name was on the list of Jackson's star-studded choir wasn't as confident.
"It's going nowhere," he said. "We had one phone call and nothing has happened since, and I'd be surprised at this point if it did. We're not really wanting anything to do with Michael right now anyway."
That manager spoke on condition of anonymity, which happens frequently these days when the subject is Jackson, a figure who inspires the willies in many music industry folks, although a good number of his artistic peers retain some measure of admiration for his lifetime of influential hits.
It's been a while since he topped the singles charts ("You Are Not Alone" led the Billboard Hot 100 for one week in 1995), and when he proposed on Sept. 6 the recording of an all-star sing-along in the style of "We Are the World," there was a sense among some cynics that the goal was to help Katrina victims and his own career.
Jackson's spokeswoman, Raymone K. Bain, said Wednesday that all questions will be answered in short order and skeptics will be proved wrong. She said Jackson flew to London last week, where (between a visit to Madame Tussauds wax museum and the stage show of "Billy Elliot") the 47-year-old star was in the studio recording for the song.
In his Sept. 6 announcement, Jackson named the heavyweights he said would be joining him in the project: Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, R. Kelly, Lauryn Hill, James Brown, Wyclef Jean, Lenny Kravitz and eight other acts. A publicist who works with one platinum-selling act on the list said the announcement was met with a ripple of irked surprise.
"A lot of the people on that list found out about their commitment when the release came out," the publicist said.
As to the status of any participants other than Brown, everyone seems to be in the dark. "Do you know who is going forward with it?" Bobbit asked. "What I have heard is that some of the singers will not be there. I think some of them may have been enthusiastic at the start but that the delays might be a problem. People are busy."
Bobbit said he heard that R. Kelly had dropped out. Kelly's manager, Derrel McDavid, would say only that the singer's schedule is in flux and that he is uncertain where the entire project stands. Laura Swanson, senior vice president of publicity for Island Def Jam, the label home of Carey, would only say, "I don't believe Michael's done any recording for his benefit single. At least not that I've heard of."
Bain did not answer when asked which artists were expected to join in, nor did she address the suggestion that some artists had been caught off guard by the use of their names.
She did e-mail: "The project is continuing on a fast track as it has been less than a month since Mr. Jackson announced his plans regarding his Katrina Relief effort.... Mr. Jackson looks forward to the participation of the artists whose goals and objectives are the same as his."
(There may be a name issue: The title mentioned in the initial announcement, "From the Bottom of My Heart," turns out to already be in use — Stevie Wonder's new album "A Time 2 Love" has a track with that name and also comes on the CD bundled with a Katrina benefit single, "Shelter in the Rain.")
Originally, Bain said digital technology would make it easy for stars to send in their vocal contributions from wherever they were, but Bobbit said he'd heard the plan was to assemble everyone on a soundstage in New York, London or Los Angeles. "Mr. Brown will be there, wherever it is," he added.
Jackson has two wildly different experiences with all-star songs written to raise money in the wake of catastrophe. He famously participated in the "We Are the World" recording, which raised millions for African famine relief in the 1980s. His efforts to record a charity single called "What More Can I Give" in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks did not fare as well. It was delayed, downsized and ultimately became a symbol of his feuding with executives at Sony Music.
Since his acquittal in June of child molestation charges, Jackson has been spending most of his time as a houseguest in the palace of Sheik Salman ibn Hamed Khalifa, the crown prince of Bahrain. The charity single is scheduled to be released on 2 Seas Records Inc., a label owned by the Bahraini royal, who accompanied Jackson to London for the recent recording sessions.

Mariah Carey 'bribed' by hotel owners
Mariah Carey has been sent expensive gifts by hoteliers in Monte Carlo, who are desperate for the star to appear at their parties.
The pop singer will attend charity gala Swarovski Fashion Rocks for The Prince's Trust on Monday night, and she is in massive demand to show up at events afterwards.
"Everyone knows Mariah in Monaco and they are all begging her to go to their party," a source told the Daily Star. "They know that they will get tons of publicity if she turns up. So they have been going the extra mile in a bid to win her over.
"Mariah has been sent gifts ranging from designer dresses to exclusive holidays. But she is planning to make up her own mind about which party she'll go to and is selling the presents to raise money for charity.

"From The Bottom of My Heart" with or without Mariah?
With the exception of Babyface and Ciara, the participation of artists announced as guests on Michael Jackson’s all-star charity single is news to them.  He reportedly began recording the song "From the Bottom of My Heart" this past weekend at London's Metropolis Studios with his financial backer, Prince Abdullah Hamad Alkhalifa of Bahrain. But Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly and the rest of the stars who were supposedly confirmed to participate were nowhere to be found.  Ciara has publicly confirmed her involvement to MTV, and Babyface told EUR that he had been contacted about the project, but had yet to see or hear the track, the proceeds of which will go toward Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

Mariah Launches THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI: PLATINUM EDITION As “Don't Forget About Us” Heads To Top Of Charts!
With her fourth single, Don’t Forget About Us, headed for the top of the charts, performer and songwriter Mariah Carey focuses her attention on the completion of THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI: PLATINUM EDITION, the expanded new configuration of her quadruple-platinum Island Records album that arrives in stores November 15th, it was announced today by Antonio “L.A.” Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group.
PLATINUM EDITION will recap all 14 tracks on THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI, whose original version has sold more than 4 million copies in the U.S. and over 6 million worldwide to date. The new CD will add four tracks: Don’t Forget About Us, which was #1 most-added at Pop, Rhythm and Urban radio formats; So Lonely (One and Only Part 2), Mariah’s collaboration with Twista (with a new extra verse written by Mariah); the remix of We Belong Together featuring Jadakiss and Styles P. (previously only available digitally online); and What It Look Like, featuring Jermaine Dupri.
PLATINUM EDITION is also available as a special deluxe limited edition two-disc (CD + DVD) package. The exclusive DVD will feature the full-length video clips of It’s Like That, We Belong Together, Shake It Off, and Get Your Number (featuring Jermaine Dupri, which will be making its U.S. debut on this DVD), plus a link to access the brand new video for Don’t Forget About Us.
PLATINUM EDITION is the latest chapter in Mariah’s 2005 juggernaut, which has earned her four nominations for this year’s 33rd annual American Music Awards – the most nominations by any artist – including: Best Pop/Rock Female Artist, Best Pop/Rock Album, Best Soul/Rhythm & Blues Female Artist, and Best Soul/Rhythm & Blues Album. The AMAs – Mariah’s next scheduled tv appearance as the show’s opening performer – will take place November 22nd at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, broadcast by ABC-TV.
One week prior to the AMAs, on November 15th, UPN will air the 3rd annual VIBE Awards, where Mariah is leading the pack for a single album with four nominations for The Emancipation of Mimi: Artist Of The Year, Album Of The Year, R&B Voice Of The Year, and Best R&B Song for We Belong Together. In other awards news, readers and fans are casting their votes for this year’s 2nd Annual Seventeen magazine Entertainment Awards, for which Mariah is nominated as Favorite Female Artist, Best Comeback By An Artist, and ‘The Track That Was On Every One Of Your Playlists’: We Belong Together. Teen People magazine has also named Mariah ARTIST OF THE YEAR in its year-end issue (Dec./Jan.).
While We Belong Together (which secured Mariah’s place as the #1 most successful female artist of all time when it became her 16th song to top the Hot 100, where it stayed for 14 weeks) and Shake It Off (#1 for 3 weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100 Airplay chart, in a new remix with Jay-Z and Young Jeezy) continue to reverberate across all radio formats – Don’t Forget About Us has soared to #1 on AOL Radio’s Top 40 chart with 89,000 plays last week after world premiering via the AOL First Listen program. The song has also accumulated over 400,000 combined plays on AOL and Yahoo Music thus far.
At radio, Don’t Forget About Us – written by Mariah and co-produced with Jermaine Dupri – has already picked up more than 2,000 spins and is over 25 million in audience. The video for Don’t Forget About Us was shot last weekend in Los Angeles with famed director Paul Hunter. He last worked with Mariah back in 1997, on the clip for her #1 Pop/#1 Dance/#2 R&B smash Honey (from the 5x-platinum Butterfly album).
In early September, Mariah had the distinction of being the first female lead artist in the 47 years of the Billboard Hot 100 ever to occupy the #1 and #2 spots in the same week, with We Belong Together and Shake It Off, respectively. The biggest single in the history of both Mariah and the Island Def Jam Music Group, We Belong Together hit an astonishing 14 weeks at #1. This positions Mariah as the only active artist with the potential to match or surpass the Beatles (with 20 #1’s) and Elvis Presley (18 #1’s) in the modern era.

Not directly Mariah related but interesting article
EU introduces single online music sales license
Brussels - Companies that want to sell music online in the     European Union can now get a single license to operate in all 25 member states, the     European Commission said on Wednesday.
"These licences will make it easier for new European-based online services to take off," Internal Market and Services Commissioner Charlie McCreevy said in a statement.
Starting an online music service in Europe such as Apple's iTunes currently requires the consent of dozens of license holders in each country -- record labels, royalty collection societies, music publishers, and, in some cases, from the artists themselves.
The resulting lengthy negotiations pushed back the launch of services such as iTunes and     Napster by months, and some popular U.S. music services such as Yahoo have yet to appear in Europe in part because of licensing red tape.
The Commission said in its guidelines to the industry on Wednesday that societies collecting royalty income on behalf of authors of music should henceforth have the right to operate across the EU, scrapping any territorial restrictions.
"I will be monitoring the situation closely and, if I am not satisfied that sufficient progress is being made, I will take tougher action," McCreevy said.
The Commission hopes this will end a situation whereby royalties owed to authors are not always distributed to them because of national barriers.

Why Everyone Hates The Music Industry
Musicians hate them for habitually sucking the creativity out of the music and the profits from the CD sales. Usually they do it legally, if not morally, but all too often naïve musicians with few options end up swindled out of their rightful earnings.
And music lovers—don't call us consumers; music can't be consumed—see the record companies as greedy, clueless profiteers quick to jack up prices while placing limits on what music gets released and how you can listen to it.
Record companies add little real value to the process of creating and distributing music, and technological advancements make their role increasingly irrelevant. Movie studios and publishing houses still stand for something, some artistic orientation, but the big record companies don't. These days, who knows or cares which label their favorite artists happen to have signed with?
The only people willing to defend the record labels seem to be a handful of superstar performers who have gotten rich on the blockbuster mentality pervasive in the music industry. Or in the film industry—movie studios seem determined to follow the same antagonistic path. Oh, and a smattering of radio DJs who rake in the payola to play what they're told to play.
The Five Stages Of Musical Death
Adapting Elisabeth Kubler-Ross' famous five stages of death and dying to track the music industry's suffering (no, I'm not kidding), it argues that the industry has moved beyond "shock and denial" (stage 1) over Napster to "anger" (stage 2) by suing file-sharers, through "bargaining" (stage 3) by offering digital music subscriptions and into "depression" (stage 4) when it realized that approach wasn't going to work. The fifth and final stage, "acceptance," comes as iTunes exceeds half a billion legal downloads and the industry tries new download services.
Making Money From Those Who Won't Pay
One positive sign: Universal Music, the world's largest record company, recently announced that it's "transforming itself into a broader entertainment company that derives more revenue from untapped sources like advertising and apparel," according to Reuters. The goal is to "tap into the enormous demand for free music, and generate revenue from those who can't or won't pay." Instead of being obsessed with controlling how people listen to music, a few record execs may finally be starting to recognize that they need a new business model, that selling recorded performances can no longer be the cash cow it was during the 20th century. (And really, is that such a bad thing? Most of the money from CD sales never reaches the artists anyway, and it makes more sense for records to be loss leaders for live performances and other merchandise. Mariah Carey might have to sell one of her houses, but she'll be OK.)

Mariah fans, the best and the worst...
Mariah's huge and supportive fan base is well known in the music industry, by DJ's, magazines and even by other artists, isn't that awesome?  Mariah knows she can count on most of her fans to support her without any condition.  We all know how thankful she is and how much she loves and appreciates us.  But, 'cause there's a but... some Mariah fans are also too critical, rude, they expect too much and always want it all their way.
An example?  There are always critics over some "playback" performances, remember the "specialists" opinions after the "Tickeld Pink" performance, well I already posted my answer to that one on October the 3rd., we also got the critics over Mariah's performance at the French Star Academy, well, David saw yesterday's Star Academy show with Céline Dion as a guest, she didn't perform live, I don't care it's not my business, what I want to point out is, why is Mariah critisized even by some of her own fans and why are Céline Dion's fans pleased when they see her perform even "playback" at a show?  Got it???  It's called  r.e.s.p.e.c.t  for the artist you support.

Mariah attending the MTV Europe Music Awards?
There's still no official news on this, but today a South African source is claiming:
"Twenty-year-old former Idols contestant Zamajobe will be sharing the stage with Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey at one of the world's premiere music events - the annual MTV Europe Music Awards which will be held in Portugal next month."
What's strange is that a South African publication posts news which is still not confirmed by the Official MTV EMA's site itselfs.  Also, like I posted before, as Madonna is annouced as THE big star of the event, I can't see Mariah being considered as a second row artist.  On another side, it would be a great exposure as the EMA's have an expected audience of 1.000.000.000 viewers, yes you read it right, 1 thousand million . As usual, wait and see.

Feeling Club Tracks - "Shake It Off" remix review
Mariah Carey
What do you give the pop star who has everything? A brand new remix, starring two of the most sought-after rappers, the veteran Jay-Z and the surging Atlanta rookie Young Jeezy. On the remix of "Shake It Off," available from iTunes, Jay-Z spits double-time rhymes over the slow, synthesizer-driven beat, and Ms. Carey does some nimble syllable-spitting of her own. Young Jeezy, who usually raps in a slow-motion groan, humors his host by delivering his first four bars in double time. Then he unwinds and stretches out, finishing the verse at his normal speed. And with his normal gruff demeanor, as well; an indecisive potential partner learns that her date chases "nothing but the money."

According to Music newswire, Mariah Carey has teamed up with super producer Dallas Austin for The Emancipation of Mimi re-release. Apparently LA Reid set up the meeting between the two superstars and they were eager to work
together on the project. Dallas Austin is known for his smart retrospective "issue of the moment" type songs (think TLC: Unpretty, damaged). Dallas Austin's credits include: The #1 single Hit 'Em up style recorded by Blu Cantrell, the #1
single Unpretty recorded by TLC, the #1 single's Don't let me get me and Just like a Pill recorded by Pink. Along with countless top 40 hits including the classic hit "secret" by Madonna. With Jermaine Dupri and Dallas Austin reportedly working on this re-release package; industry insiders are saying it could be the finishing touches on a flawless album.

Mariah Carey's extreme preparation
Mariah Carey spends 15 hours a day sleeping in a room full of voice-preserving humidifiers before every live performance.
The sexy diva has confessed she insists on the extreme preparation to ensure her amazing voice is in top condition when she sings live.
She admitted: "It's bleak, but you gotta do what you gotta do."
Mariah has also revealed she never gets out of bed before 5pm.
The stunning singer also goes to sleep at 7am most days, and usually eats her main meal around 2am.
She explained: "I live in my own little universe."
Meanwhile, Mariah has revealed she used to live on just one dollar a day. Despite being a multi-millionaire diva now, the singer has revealed she used to struggle to make ends meet.
She added in an interview with Britain's Glamour magazine: "There were times when I had one dollar to last all day. So it was, 'Do I go on the subway, or do I have a bagel?'
"But I didn't care, because in my mind I knew, 'I'm gonna succeed one day, so this is my moment where I have holes in my shoes.'"

Mariah Carey Not Afraid of Bad Publicity Anymore
Singer Mariah Carey has recently revealed, during an MTV show, that she's not afraid of bad publicity anymore, and “joked ” on her Diva reputation consequences, like working out in a pair of stilettos and such.
Carey, 35, confessed that, because of her ex-husband, Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola's advices, she was a shy and introvert person and that she never revealed her true personality while talking to the press.
As she said: "It was like:'And here I am on my exercise bike! I guess I just expect people to know it's a frigging joke.
I'm a very campy person, but for a long time in my career none of my true personality ever came out.
In my former life, as a married person, I was intimidated - I was taught, don't trust the press, say as little as possible and don't be yourself.
Consequently, I was viewed as a one-dimensional person, so I understand it when people have perceptions about who I am."
Mariah Carey, born on March 27, 1970, rose to prominence in the 1990s, when she became America's most successful recording artist for that decade, according to Billboard magazine.
The World Music Awards recognized her as the world's biggest-selling artist of the 1990s, and in 2000, the show declared her the best-selling female pop artist of all times.
She has produced every one of her ten studio albums, with the exception of her debut, and directed music videos. Since 1999, she has occasionally worked as an actress and supports a variety of charitable organizations.

Sexy singer Mariah Carey is furious airlines won’t let her beloved dog Jack fly first class with her.
The diva was left fuming after she was informed her Jack Russell was “too big” and not famous enough to join her in the executive cabin.

"And they also said: ‘We’d only allow it for a famous dog.’ Please! He has three websites dedicated to him!"

Jacko Seeks Deal With L.A. Reid, Bahrain Prince
By Roger Friedman
The next act picks up in London, where Jackson is ensconced at the very expensive Dorchester Hotel. He's there on the dime of Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, a Bahraini prince, who's picking up the tab for everything.
Jackson and the prince are not alone, however. They are joined right now by attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr., who so brilliantly defended Jackson in his trial.
Also there are fired-then-reinstated publicist Raymone Bain, as well as Jackson's three children and their nanny, Grace Rwamba.
But even more interesting are two more people new to the crowd: Atlanta music-business attorney Joel Katz and Island/DefJam Records chairman Antonio "L.A." Reid.
Their project is simple. My sources say that Katz has come to represent the Prince in a deal that would fund a record label for Jackson at Island/DefJam's parent, Universal Music Group.
Coincidentally — that is, if you believe in coincidences — Katz represents Reid as well. (Jackson probably does not know this. Maybe someone at the Dorchester can show him this column.)
It was Katz who negotiated Reid's deal that made the latter head of Arista Records in 2000. He later got Reid out of that deal and made the current one at Universal.
If the project comes together, and it should, the first order of business would be to record that charity single Jackson has been promising since Hurricane Katrina.
Even though Stevie Wonder turned him down, Jackson has been campaigning among various other stars for weeks.
Katz, whose Rolodex is filled with star R&B and hip-hop clients, would be a tremendous asset in lassoing contributors. First up would be James Brown, the man whose dance steps Jackson copied at an early age.
Next to be tapped, I'm told, might be Jay-Z and Beyoncé, thanks to the Universal connection. Jay-Z, believe it or not, is now president and chief executive of Def Jam. Beyoncé is his girlfriend. And so on.
Universal is the No. 1 music company right now, boasting everyone from Eminem and 50 Cent to Bon Jovi, Kanye West and Mariah Carey.
Under the right circumstances, UMG could cajole any of its stars to appear on Jackson's single or even on a comeback album.

- Don’t believe those reports that Eminem has written a letter to Mariah Carey, suggesting that they patch things up and become friends. “He’s not a guy who plays nice like that,” Eminem’s spokesman tells The Scoop.
- Mariah Carey may never have children, because she fears they would struggle with the pressures of having a superstar diva for a mother. The We Belong Together hitmaker, 35, likes the idea of having a baby but insists "the baggage of being my child" could become too much. And she is anxious over her search for the perfect man.

Something that would be a great look however is if Mariah could get her first UK number one this week with her double A side single Shake It Off/ Get Your Number so let’s do this folks - let’s show the power of the black pound. Respect!

All eyes on the "Get Your Number" video
The entire fan community was waiting since September the 28th. as the video was announced to be aired on that day in the UK.  We were all excited, waiting for news, reviews, etc... but apparently, until now, no one has seen it on any UK TV channel.
Too bad the single is already in stores in the UK without the support of the video.  In my opinion, it was a bad move, the single needed a video and radio airplay before a commercial release, but hey, I'm not an expert.
Note that in Belgium they will only receive the video this week and then it's going on TV the week after.  Maybe the UK didn't receive the video yet, which could explain the situation. But then, why was the single not postponed?
But, here again, I'm not a marketing expert.

Eminem calls truce with Mariah Carey
Eminem has reportedly called a truce with Mariah Carey. The two stars have had a long-running feud since they were romantically linked several years ago. But now sources claim Eminem, who recently checked into a rehab clinic, has written a letter of apology to Mariah, asking her to put their differences aside and be friends.
An insider is quoted by Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Em wrote to Mariah saying he wanted to call a truce. And she has always believed in peace and love so was really happy about it. "Facing up to the past and writing to people who have been closest to you is one of the steps people take in rehab."
Mariah recently branded Eminem a liar after he claimed to have had an affair with her. Just days after the troubled rapper checked into a rehab clinic for a sleeping pill addiction in August, the pop diva has vehemently denied he bedded her. She said: "I knew him, I hung out with him a few times, but nothing sexual occurred. Maybe he thought he'd look bad or something."

"The Day After" review
Long known -- and, in parts of the country beloved -- for his mile-a-minute style, the Chicago rapper Twista recently became an unlikely mainstream star with some help from Kanye West. Twista's fast but heavy rhyme style doesn't often leave room for charm or narrative or wit. (The album's first couplet is a clunker: "Now it was a war, it was like I was in Vietnam/But I killed 'em all, 'cause 'Kamikaze' was the bomb.") But his intricate verbal rhythms are more important than the words, anyway, and the album has a fistful of wild beats (though West's presence is missed) and well-chosen cameos, including one by Mariah Carey.

Twista shoots his mouth, and mostly misfires on 'Day After'
Twista's ''The Day After" opens with the sound of an explosion, complete with terrified screams and breaking glass, all of which sounds a little too much like a Baghdad marketplace or a Bali restaurant being blown to smithereens.
Instead, as a ''newscaster" informs us, it's the result of an accident caused when the rapper smashed his car into a building. ''Apparently," she says, ''he went kamikaze."
It's a reference to the Chicago rapper's 2004 album, ''Kamikaze," but it's still in magnificently bad taste. None of this is helped by photos in the CD booklet of him walking into what appears to be a record company with a bomb under his peacoat. Add to this fake newspaper articles juxtaposing the greed of music executives with artists who sign such bad deals they wind up bankrupt.
So begins Twista's fifth album, in stores today. Instead of a setup for a sharp commentary on terrorism, or record company larceny, it's just an attention-grabbing way to kick off a CD that doesn't veer far from the blueprint that made ''Kamikaze" the best-selling album of Twista's career.
Certainly, he's still got one of the most nimble tongues in the rap game, a flow that manages to be both lightning quick, yet fairly articulate. He doesn't sacrifice lucidity for speed, which makes listening to him more of a pleasure (albeit an acquired one) than a chore. And he's got guest turns galore from such names as Snoop Dogg on ''Had to Call" and Lil' Kim on ''Do Wrong," which samples Al Green's ''Love and Happiness."
Unfortunately, the rub is an old one -- subject matter. It's all women, cars, and hollow-point bullets. Even though Martin Scorsese is best known for gangster epics including ''GoodFellas" and ''Casino" -- both big influences in hip-hop -- he's always proven his versatility as filmmaker with such diverse works as ''Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" and ''The Aviator."
Mainstream rappers aren't so industrious. In ''Lavish," featuring the ubiquitous Pharrell, Twista mentions his ''24s" -- that's shorthand for high-price rims that make cars look snazzy and ride lousy. This wouldn't matter except he also raps about ''rolling down the street on some shiny 24s" in ''Chocolate Fe's and Redbones," featuring Johnny P.
Much better is ''So Lonely," featuring Mariah Carey. Twista appears on her comeback album, ''The Emancipation of Mimi," so she returns the favor on this sort-of love song that, at times, recalls Ludacris's ''What Your Fantasy" with its checklist of potential locales for lovemaking. At her cooing, breathy best, Carey makes the song a lot more enjoyable than it might otherwise be.

In the fan community,  the "experts" comment about the "Tickeld Pink" performances, and of course the "experts" know it all.  Let me say one thing, I personnaly never care if a performance is live or not, I'm so happy to see Mariah that I don't pay attention at the "live" or "not live", I simply enjoy the fact that she's there, that she loves her fans and that normally a lot of us love her without playing the critics.  If you weren't there you can't comment, also if you were there and I mean until the last moment when she left the Royal Albert Hall, only then you can comment.  After Mariah's performance almost every fan left the concert in order to go waiting outside her hotel.  Kinou, Jack and I also left the concert but we waited outside the artist entrance until Mariah came out.  Every artist who came out had his fans waiting outside, except Mariah, there were only autograph hunters for her.  So, we were only 3 persons to show her love and support and she really enjoyed it a lot.  If I'm in a good mood, I'll share the picture of that moment (taken by a nice photographer, 'cause of course, I didn't bring my photo camera).
About the live or not live, I remember mainly live parts, well I think so, like I said I'm so impressed, yes, still impressed and proud of her that nothing else count around me.
I'm gonna let the "experts" do their favourite hobby now and let them all in their ignorance, 'cause only 3 fans (me, Kinou and Jack) in the world know what happend and why it was partially non live (I hate the words lipsynch or mimed).
Just like Mariah says, I'm gonna shake, shake, shake it off....
Have a nice day .

Riffing on the Grammy
Handicapping some Grammy favorites--and how do you solve a problem like Mariah?
One of the other most intriguing questions on the eve of Grammy nomination voting has to do with the remarkable commercial comeback of Mariah Carey, whose "The Emancipation of Mimi" ranks among the year's few real blockbusters and who has been the top singles artist of recent months.
A decade ago, this would have made her a slam-dunk in top album and song Grammy contests. But since the Recording Academy moved to let select committees choose the final five nominations in many categories from the top 20 vote-getters, the question arises of whether Carey is a "credible" enough artist to get a nod.
"She's the story of the year," says former Vibe, Spin and Rolling Stone editor Alan Light, noting the redemptive angle of Carey's return from personal problems and seeming commercial irrelevance. "But can you really see enough people considering it the album of the year? Within other category awards, she'll be major."

"Your Girl" (Baby Be Mine) remix feat. Cam'ron and Juelz Santana a hit in Belgian clubs
I went to my favourite DJ corner this afternoon here in Brussels, this is the place where you meet the DJ's and where you get the latest news and joints, at my great surprise they were all crazy over "Your Girl" (Baby Be Mine) remix feat. Cam'ron and Juelz Santana, it seems it's the hottest song of the moment and is even added to a lot of mixtapes.  I could listen to the entire track and know where and by which US DJ the track was leaked, not sure if I'll put his name on here .

"We Belong Together" in the Belgian charts
The song is now since 15 weeks in the sales, airplay, downloads charts in Belgium, this is kinda the Belgian Billboard.
This week the track is #8.
Official sales chart:
Ultratop 50 Singles Vlaanderen: #16 (last week #12)
Ultratop 40 Singles Wallonie: #33 (last week #33)
"The Emancipation of Mimi" goes again 1 spot up to #28 on this weeks Official Belgian sales chart "Ultratop 50 Albums" (For the French speaking part of Belgium).
Heroes note:I know our charts are strange, our little country has 3 charts, one for the Dutch speaking part of Belgium, one for the French speaking part of Belgium and one who combines the sales, airplay and downloads,  this is how messed up we are!

"Don't Forget About Us" review
By Bill Lamb for About's Top 40 Pop (Yes! Bill Lamb, you read it right )
Rating - 4 out of 5
The Bottom Line:
After 3 singles from The Emancipation Of Mimi, Mariah Carey drops a new single not included on the album. "Don't Forget About Us" is another collaboration with Jermaine Dupri, Mariah's key artistic partner of the moment. This is more of the formula that made "We Belong Together" so huge. Mariah Carey sounds confident, composed, and assured of another hit.
Visit AOLMusic to hear "Don't Forget About Us."
Pros:
It doesn't mess with the brilliant formula of "We Belong Together"
Mariah is clearly settling into a more mature style of vocals
Cons: Those wanting variety from Mariah Carey need to look elsewhere
Description:
Midtempo beat between "We Belong Together" and "Shake It Off"
Confident vocals in a lower range than early in Mariah Carey's career
Lyrical musings on reluctance to let go of memories when a relationship goes sour
Review:
Mariah Carey certainly knows a hit formula when she sees one. After three hit singles from her comeback album The Emancipation Of Mimi, she has unveiled a new single only release put together with the help of Jermaine Dupri. "Don't Forget About Us" is cut from a similar cloth to "We Belong Together," Carey's massive hit single from earlier in 2005. This new cut is nearly as strong as "We Belong Together" and marginally better than "Shake It Off." It shouldn't be long before we see "Don't Forget About Us" in the pop top 10.
Carey sounds very comfortable in her new, lower register singing voice. There is occasional, mostly background, trademark warbling in the upper ranges, but the focus is on a more mature, soulful vocal style. "Don't Forget About Us" is tailor made for the radio. If you are a fan of the post-comeback Mariah Carey, this song is for you.
