No Mariah at Lyrix in Nashville
Well, it seems these infos weren't true, at least it's what Tanya owner of the Lyrix told Gordon on the phone, tomorrow they have a show at 6pm with Brice Ash and Marc Lonsway and at 8pm it's the Lee Rascone night, but if you're in the area, go take a look in the afternoon, if there's something going on, you should see cars, material, etc....

Mariah rumored to be at Nashville's Club Lyrix on March the 1st.
Surprise appearance!(not official, it was announced by Robbie at Pulse forum)
Mariah could probably be there to perform her scene for the movie, its a non-smoking family cafe-bar thats mainly open nightly for new talent to showcase songwriting and singing, which is the case for Mariah's role!
More info on the bar- it was named 2nd place in the top 10 new bars of 2006!
Bar's review-
In Short
Perched on a hill near LP Field, the round room at this family-owned bar lends a cozy vibe among its indigo walls and pitched roof. Floor-to-ceiling windows opposite the oak bar offer sweeping views of downtown, but the biggest draw here is music. Three weekday songwriters' nights and bands on the weekends attract young songwriters in baseball caps toting guitars and middle-aged couples in Wranglers and cowboy hats to the low tables before a small stage.

Heroes note: Warning, it's rumored, but if you're in the area try to go take a look, you never know....

Mariah Carey's diva home
Mariah Carey would only sell her lavish apartment to another diva.
The singer, who lives in a 12,000sq ft three-floor New York apartment, says only a true star could live in such plush surroundings.
Mariah told Britain's Hello magazine: "If anyone ever buys this place, they had better be a diva or they can't live here."

The Fall Creek Falls State Park Inn's rooms in Pikeville stinks
A Tennessee native shared with MariahDaily some information about Mariah's filming in Tennessee, where Mariah was filming near his hometown:
- Mariah stayed the first night in Pikeville, TN at the Fall Creek Falls State Park Inn, but left and stayed the next night on her tour bus at a the campsite because of an odor in the room.
- On Monday 2/26, Mariah filmed in Dunlap, TN at the high school football field. On the way back, around dusk, her bus stopped and looked at a deer standing in a field nearby. Mariah's bus was tan and black, and she had about 15 people with her on the set.

Carey Street
IT’S Mariah Carey. She’s here to prove once more that so much Glitter does not equate to so much gold.

Carey is opening up her heart and the doors to her 12,000-ft triplex apartment in Manhattan.

“In life there can be ups and downs,” she opines. “You can’t be happy every day, because then you wouldn’t appreciate it.”

For sure. And as Hello! nods at such sage words we wonder if Mariah would appreciate the vast splendour of her home in the sky more were she to be evicted and forced to live in a studio flat or a cardboard box?

But Mariah has known hardship. She tells us how she once owned only one pair of shoes; how she would look at her money and wonder if she hold have lunch or a ride on the Subway; how she starred in the film Glitter.

But what of her new movie? Against what looked like insurmountable odds (see Glitter) Carey is filming something called Tennessee.

But while Carey talks about that, Hello!’s eye wanders about her massive home.

There is a dressing room modelled on a scaled up version of Bergdorf Goodman’s third floor.

There’s the Marrakesh Room, so called because it is exactly the same size as Marrakesh. And the Mermaid room, which would be a great place for real mermaids to live in with a school of blue whales for company.

And it would have to be filled with water – something Mariah has tried. Hello! relives the horror of the burst water pipe and how Carey’s home was, momentarily, transformed into the world’s largest inland sea.

Luckily, everything can be restored. Things were put back together piece by piece. Carey’s 1,000 pairs of shoes were placed back on their shelves in their racks.

The palace is rich with what Hello! calls “symbolism”. Carey says the butterflies on the handcrafted fireplace symbolise freedom.

The climate-controlled closets in which clothes are cross referenced by colour, fabric and occasion are symbolic of a woman in tune with her past, reality and the streets many, many feet below her windows...

"Tennessee" update, Wednesday in Nashville

Hollywood comes to Nashville and singer Mariah Carey is the star.
Carey's last movie , "Glitter," garnered neither big box office numbers nor critical acclaim.  She is, however, thinking good thoughts for her new Indie movie entitled "Tennessee.”
In the film, Carey plays a waitress whose two brothers travel to Tennessee to find their dad.

Filming started Monday in Dunlap, Tennessee, outside Chattanooga.  Cameras will start rolling in Nashville on Wednesday.
Producers tapped the 70-year-old Cardwell's Market on Hermitage Avenue near Riverfront Park for one......scene.  Owner and Metro Trustee Charlie Cardwell said filmmakers liked the old-school feel of his place.

Other locations include historic Second Avenue, honky-tonk packed lower Broadway, the Greyhound station, Printer's Alley, the Willow Street Railroad Crossing and the riverfront, where the new Sounds’ Stadium is will be.

The filming will continue through Friday.  City officials said there won't be any street closures.

Jeff, the Mariah fan banned from his favourite pub, may go there again
You probably remember the story of Jeff who was banned for life from his favourite pub 'cause he played constantly Mariah tracks on the juke box.  Well, here's good news for him:
"Since the unexpected publicity and Jeff’s incessant pleading to be allowed back in, Roy has relented and lifted Jeff’s ban under the condition that he undergoes a self imposed two-week ban from the jukebox.
And Roy is resolute: "If he plays another song constantly he will be banned immediately, no questions asked."
The Gordon Arms is now enjoying a much anticipated period of peace and quiet to the delight of both staff and customers. The Mariah Christmas track has since been removed from the jukebox to avoid any future anguish to patrons."

Mariah Carey Says She's in No Rush to Have Kids
Mariah Carey is "more or less" in a relationship right now, she reveals in a new interview – but doesn't name her beau, saying: "I don't talk about that anymore."
The 37-year-old singer does reflect on her ill-fated marriage to Tommy Mottola, telling Hello! magazine, "If I could go back again, I wouldn't do it."
Mottola – the former Sony Music boss who discovered Carey – split with the singer in 1997, after nearly four years of marriage.
Carey has also dated baseball star Derek Jeter and rapper Eminem, who in November blasted her on his "uncensored hip-hop channel" for denying they dated.

So, will Carey get married again? "We'll see," she answers.
The Grammy-winning singer also says she's not in any rush to have children. "What I want is to have children in a good way, with the right husband, with the right family life."
Asked if that means she'd only have children if she were married, "I think so," she says. "But who knows? Five years from now I might get hysterical and say, 'I have to have kids!' But I don't think so."

"Tennessee" filmed at Sequatchie County High
A Tennessee High School turned into a Hollywood sound stage Monday night.
Filming began at Sequatchie County High for a movie starring actor Val Kilmer and singer Mariah Carey.
Filmmakers are using the school's auditorium and football field for a movie about a road trip between New Mexico and Tennessee.
It was a closed set tonight, so our crews were not allowed on set.
Neither Kilmer nor Carey were on scene.

Too black or not black enough....
Here's an interesting article on how in the US some people are too black or not black enough to be taken seriously and about minorities.
"What does "Black enough" mean? It can mean astuteness, pride in one's culture and paying one's dues for the improvement of the Black race. But who should decide who is in and who is out?
"Black enough" can also carry a negative subtext and symbolize internal oppression.
For example black Ebonics-speaking students often deride those who speak standard English as "not Black enough." I have seen how in Washington D.C., a politician who smoked crack, blamed a Black women for his down fall and grossly mismanaged funds is lauded over a nerdy professional who pulled the city out of financial doldrums. Why? The nerdy mayor "was not Black enough."
Does the term mean as New York Daily News writer Stanley Crouch wrote that "other than color, Obama does not share a heritage with the majority of black Americans, who are descendants of plantation slaves."

Can you see that standard being applied to Whites that none could run for president unless they could prove they were descendants of slave masters? Do you rule out Blacks who were indentured servants or were rescued from slavery by Native Americans? What about the millions of Blacks whose parents or themselves were immigrants from Africa, the Caribbean, Australia or other parts of the world, such as Shirley Chisholm, Gen. Colin Powell or Sidney Portier? Are their contributions invalid?
When the Rev. Jesse Jackson ran for president, he was disliked for being "too Black" because he had the audacity to raise issues critical to people of color, farmers and others locked out of the system.

What is the heritage of Black Americans?

Surely it is victimization, but it is also bravery, fighting in many wars, even as we were treated worse than the enemies; of being the moral compass of the nation and dying for freedoms that helps define this nation as a democracy.

Is there anything about Sen. Obama that disqualifies him from that heritage?

Moreover, when you look at people like Tiger Woods, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, CNN's Soledad O'Brien, they are mere reminders that we are seeing the rise of a blended America. In the last decades the growth of ethnic so-called minorities in America has been phenomenal. Since 1980, the Asian American population has almost tripled, Hispanic Americans more than doubled, Native Americans increased 62 percent, and African-Americans increased 31 percent, while the non-ethnic population has remained almost the same. The U.S. Census Bureau predicts that by the year 2050, people of color will comprise fully half the U.S. population.

Mariah attending Dani's Oscar party?
When it comes to Oscars, there's only one party that really matters: Dani Janssen's. It's the most private, the most star-studded, the most relaxed in town. Only my pal Dani is a bundle of nerves on the phone with me because she just found out her condominium had stripped a lobby wall the day before. So the first thing greeting her VIPs when they arrive is a demolition mess. Trust me, no one will be looking. Not with guests like Jack Nicholson, Barbra Streisand, Steven Spielberg, Reese Witherspoon, Jim Carrey, Jennifer Aniston, Vince Vaughn, Harrison Ford, Al Pacino, Owen Wilson, Mariah Carey,  Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Oprah attending.

Mariah is looking to buy a flat in London
Mariah Carey is the latest diva to sign a mega deal with a fashion giant - she's now the new face of Pinko. On the subject of size zero fashion models, Mariah balked at the issue and told me she had no idea why girls would want to look like that.

The multi-octave diva also let it slip that she was looking to buy a London flat in the heart of Knightsbridge. Her reason? "Well, a girl loves to shop," she told me.

Mariah was viewing properties up to the value of £8 million, but stipulated: "They must have high ceilings so that I can practice my vocals."

Heroes comment: There's no wonder Mariah would like to have her own property in London, she loves the city, her great friend Jasmine lives there, Dame Dash has also his property where Mariah goes often, and London is a very nice city who never sleeps.

Producer Jon-Jon Traxx, also known as St. Louis' John Webb Jr., can put "Grammy Award-winning" in front of his name. He's one of many producers on Beyoncé's "B'Day" CD, which won a Grammy last week as best contemporary R&B album. Jon-Jon was a producer on Beyoncé's single "Déjà Vu."
"I'm a very determined person, but I never thought this would come this soon, the big brass ring," Jon-Jon says. "It says a lot, and I take it as a blessing."
Now he's looking ahead, lining up material for Chris Brown, Mariah Carey, Lil' Wayne, Bobby Valentino, Kelly Rowland and Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger.

How "Glitter" saved a life
A soprano soloist who dreamed of a recording career, Sara Botkin followed a path taken by many musicians.

Instead of returning to the Pittsburgh area where she had been raised, she went straight from her 1999 graduation from the University of Virginia to the storied music halls of New York City.

Two years later, her love of music would prove not only to be life-changing but also lifesaving.

On her way to the 105th floor of the World Trade Center South Tower, where she worked as a financial analyst, Ms. Botkin chose to dawdle in the tower's concourse. It was the day her favorite artist, Mariah Carey, was releasing a new album, "Glitter."

"I'm a huge Mariah Carey fan. I always, always buy her music the morning it's released. I went to Sam Goody to buy that CD, which was why I was a little behind.

"I was waiting for my elevator when the first plane hit," she said. "When I saw people running, I did think, is this a bomb or something intentional? I thought about Oklahoma City and said, 'Wow, I wonder if I'm going to be hurt today.' "

Ms. Botkin was not hurt, but more than 100 of her co-workers at AON Corp. would perish as United Airlines Flight 175 crashed 20-some floors beneath them. The full impact of what had happened didn't dawn on her, she said, until she headed home on the subway.

As her train emerged from the Manhattan tunnel onto the elevated tracks in Queens, she saw the two towers in flames.

Mariah working with Scott Storch?
I know the rumors will start, or already started a few weeks ago with a fake album title, then a song with Sean Paul. Now a fan posted on fomm that his sister is friend with Scott Storch and apparently he told her he was working with Mariah last month.... it's maybe true, maybe not, only time will tell.  Scott Storch is a great and very busy producer and he already worked for Mariah with I think a remix of "It's Like That" and  "We Belong Together", but also produced "You Make Me wanna" (I'm too tired to check right now). I would like it, he has very good "Urban" sounds and I like that.  Anyway, more rumors and unconfirmed news will appear in the next few months, damm, more than 6 months rumors will kill us

A time for reflection for many people including some Mariah fans...
The following extracts are taken from Blog Critics Magazine about the downfall of Britney Spears, but some of their thoughts can apply to a lot of celebrities, including Mariah
- "Building up celebrities and then dropping them deep in the ground is a favorite pastime of many Americans."
- "Still, we hate our pop divas to be movie stars: just ask Mariah Carey or Madonna!"
- "None of us are morally perfect, but it is certainly fun to say we are and then bash those who screw up."
- "We love to see our superstars scream, cry, overdose on drugs, have mental breakdowns, etc"
- "There seems to be a void in us that trashing a celebrity fills. It’s a void of extreme insecurity. If we live our lives to our fullest, achieve what we can without blaming people on our shortcomings, and get to the point where we feel comfortable in our own skin, we can then ignore celebrity breakdowns. If we can’t ignore them, then perhaps we can wish all the best for the rehab celebrity of the moment instead of turning their downfalls into victories for us."

Nothing really new, except what's in bold
Mariah Hooks Up With Bone Thugs-N-Harmony — And Willie Nelson?
Carey joins Bow Wow on new Bone track; Nelson co-writes track with Mimi for her new movie.
Mariah Carey is just getting started on her new album. And although she hasn't said yet who she'll be working with, if some of her recent collaborations are any indication, we could be in for some surprises.

First, Carey recorded a track with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony for the group's comeback album, Strength and Loyalty, due April 17, according to the group's label rep. "She promised that she was gonna do a song with us once, and she kept her promise," Krayzie Bone previously told MTV News.

Carey not only kept her word, but she brought along Bow Wow to sweeten her offering on the song "Lil L.O.V.E." "I call it 'Little Little,' " she told MTV Europe. "It's a favorite of mine. It's a nice song, and I think it really kind of gives you the back-in-the-day Bone vibe but also a very new take on who they are as artists."

Carey said that she and other artists owe a debt to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony because their influence is so widespread in rap and hip-hop. "A lot of times people are like, 'I will make up a part,' and people actually think they made up that part," she said. "But I am so influenced by their style that it kind of merges together. It's funny, because so many artists today are influenced by Bone, and they may not even realize it."

Carey's got another influence her fans might not recognize — at least for the song in her upcoming movie "Tennessee." Her character, Krystal, is a waitress — just like Carey's role in 2002's "WiseGirls" — but this time, she's also an aspiring songwriter. Through the course of the story, as she joins two brothers on their journey to find their estranged father, she writes a song and performs it in a bar.

Krystal's song is being co-written by Carey and Willie Nelson. Carey hasn't shot the scene yet (it will be filmed next week), but in another part of the movie, she'll hint at her influence by singing a bit of Nelson's "Help Me Make It Through the Night" a cappella, according to the film's rep.

"This character is really far from who I am in a lot of ways," Carey said. "There are some parallels, some internal things, nothing that people would ever look at and go, 'That's very Mariah.' But this is not me at all. The character is so not what you would think. This is not about hairdos and ensembles. The girl's in the trenches. And I'm the third lead, so it's nice to work with an ensemble cast and to really just be able to do my work and go home at night."
Carey started shooting "Tennessee" in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico, last month. She's back there shooting this week, before shooting her bar scenes in Nashville and wrapping her one month of production. No release date has been set for the film.

Meanwhile, her next album, "which is really early on in the creative process," is due this fall, according to her label rep.

Mariah and Bone Thugs new joint: "Lil L.O.V.E"
Mariah Carey is currently jet setting around the world, having just wrapped up "The Emancipation Of Mimi" tour, promoting her new role as the face of Pinko in London, and filming the independent movie "Tennessee" in New Mexico. This superstar sure knows how to multi-task!

In between jaunts, Mariah found the time to catch up with MTV News International and was enthusiastic to talk about collaborating with rap group Bone Thugs-n-Harmony on their highly anticipated comeback album "Strength & Loyalty".

Mariah Carey revealed that she will feature on their single "Lil L.O.V.E", and explained, "it’s a favourite song of mine, I love working with them, and Bow wow is also on that record, and it’s a nice song and I think it really kind of gives you the back in the day Bone vibe, but also a very new take on who they are as artists."

"I have always loved blending my voice with theirs, and a lot of times people are like, I will make up a part, and people will think they made up the part, but I am so influenced by their style, that it kind of merges together.

She went on to add, "It’s funny because so many rap artists today are influenced by Bone and they may not even realize it".

Fans knew it, now fashion world says it, Mariah was first
Low-riding pants are worn by dozens of celebrities such as Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Janet Jackson.

And with their midriffs and thongs showing during television appearances and within the pages of a plethora of magazines, the craze over low-riding pants may seem like the newest passing trend.

But the commotion is nothing new.

Instead, Tonya Twist, Mariah Carey’s former stylist, is to blame for what she started some four years ago.

“She cut off the waistband of Mariah Carey’s Levi’s and that caused a sensation,” said Suzie Yalof Schwartz, executive fashion editor for Glamour. “Ever since then, we’ve been seeing them everywhere.”

Heroes note: Read of course Tonjua instead of Tonya, and I don't know if it's an old article which surfaced, but it's not 4 years ago, it's almost 7 years.  We all remember Tonjua Twist who commited suicide in 2000 and to whom Mariah dedicated her song "Twister".

How strange, news or rumor?
Priest sent to greet Mariah at Pinko opening
Mariah Carey was shocked when she was approached by a Catholic priest at the recent opening of fashion store Pinko in London.
Pinko president Piero Negra flew his friend, Friar Nasr, to the UK to deliver a special message to the diva after she became the new face of the designer label.
"I handed her the prayer card of St Benedict. She looked pleased," the priest said.
Negra insists Catholicism was nothing to do with signing up Carey, whose mum is Catholic, to promote the brand.
"Religion is important to our family - we are all churchgoers. But we didn't ask Mariah to work for us for any religious reasons - business is business," he said.

At first, when I read Perez Hilton's today's post, I was like... what, what happend to the guy, him who always trash Mariah was complimenting her (in his own style), he even said he loves her..... until you read the last sentence , the beast will stay a beast.
I know we shouldn't give him hits, but when you search for Mariah news his site appears everytime and of course you want to know what he has to say, oh well we need to deal with haters.  If you want to read what he has to say, click here.

Mariah fan Prince Azim was at Claridge's
Last Friday, a host of celebrities, actresses and big hitters from the fashion world were on hand to check out the Marc Jacobs' London Fashion Week debut. Sitting front row at the Claridge's hotel event were Legally Blonde actress Selma Blair, Bob Gelfof's stylish daughter Pixie and Lady Gabriella Windsor.
Also checking out the new offerings for next autumn/winter was supermodel Naomi Campbell, who was accompanied by the Sultan of Brunei's 24-year-old son Prince Azim. The prince is no stranger to celebrities, having lavished £2.9 million-worth of diamonds on songstress Mariah Carey last September.

Good girl Liz, you read your e-mails
Kinou and I (we wren't maybe not the only ones) sent an e-mail to Liz Smith about the mistakes in her Feb.13 column, in today'scolumn she corrected with Bernie Mac not being part of "Tennessee", she didn't correct James D'Arcy not being part of the movie yet, nor any word on the rumor she spreads about the plane stuff even if we sent her that Mariah denied it on MTV International.

Did we know?
Maybe we knew it and I totally forgot it... at the gala of Milstein Hall of Ocean Life at the American Museum of Natural History last fall, the auction  inluced a walk-on role with Mariah Carey in producer Lee Daniel’s new film Tennessee.  Wow, what a great oppotunity

International Tour in 2008
My mate Pete who met Mariah in the lobby of the Claridge's after the Pinko party, was told afterwards by Darryl (Mariah's bodyguard) that Mariah was doing the final two weeks of her film then writing and putting her next album together. Darryl also stated that it was the intention to have an International Tour in 2008.

So cute and so sad at the same time
While searching some news, I found the following article on mental illness and it made me sad:
"The social worker found him waiting for a cab outside his mom's home with his packed suitcases, wearing a winter coat and hat in August, insisting he was going on tour with pop singer Mariah Carey. An accomplished musician, the man swore he was booked on a flight to Japan, where the superstar and her band were waiting for him.
“In his mind, he was really on his way to Japan,” social worker Tanya Feliz said."

Mariah ill in London?
There's something weird.  I was looking at the dates of the pictures from London, according to the pictures notes Mariah left the Claridge's on Feb.17, wait a minute, the last update we got was posted on MariahConnection and Mariah was expected to leave on Feb.16 around noon, and that was already later than expected as at first it was the 15th.
I got an e-mail from Matthew telling me Mariah wasn't able to leave the 16th. 'cause of a health problem, can someone confirm this? (not that I don't believe you Matthew, but several sources are better than one).  I know we don't need to know all what happens in Mariah's life, but this could explain she was not smiling the way she always does and her very late arrival and 10 minutes stay at the Pinko party.
Poor Mariah, let's hope she doesn't get a flu or something.

Why Liz, Why???
Remember, on February the 13th., Liz Smith columnist for the New York Post was claming that Mariah bought out every seat in economy to flew alone in an economy cabin. Too bad, worldwide press reported that rumor and Mariah appears again as a capricious diva, well done Liz !!!  Until now I thought Liz was a person who always respected Mariah, even when America turned his back and hated on Mariah.
"It's not true" says Mariah
MTV News International caught up with the star and got to the bottom of the recent diva rumours. Mariah explained, "No it's not true, that is probably one of those things that is going to haunt me for the rest of my life, but that would be pretty funny if somebody was stupid enough to do that."

She went on to say that she didn't even fly to the set in Tennessee, she took the bus to give her a better experience of being from that part of America.

She explained, "I took my tour bus down because I wanted to be in the environment, like experience what it would be like to live in the area where we are filming and just go to real places to eat, and meet people along the way and stuff like that, the real people who are living down more towards the southern western area."

Let's now see if the medias will correct it, or what other stupid stuff they will find out

Playboy craziness in Brussels
It seems Mariah on the cover of Playboy encounters a big success here in Brussels, the magazine is in stores since yesterday, when I went to buy my copy today, I checked a lot of stores and they all told me the same:
- "It's pure craziness man, I never sold them so quickly"
- "I have no copies anymore, 2 days and pfioutttt, it's all gone, I have already a list to order more copies, not sure I can have more, I need to order them 3 weeks in advance, if I had known it was Mariah Carey on the cover, I would have ordered more"
- "When I received them, I knew it would sell well, it's Mariah so..."
Belgian fans, if it's not done yet, buy or order your copy very quick, it will be sold out very soon, I was lucky to find the last copy out of 25 in stock at my usual store, be sure to go very quick.
Please let me know how it goes in the other parts of Belgium.

"Tennessee" infos
Speaking about the film, Mariah said: "It is a complete departure for me. It's a great role for me to play and it's totally different from my persona."

Carey says that if it wasn't for Wise Girls she wouldn't have been chosen for the role. "Lee Daniels saw Wise Girls at Sundance (film festival) and we knew each other sort of and it all came together," she said.

"He (Lee) is a creative genius. He is a risk taker but I feel safe. The script was amazing.

"All three (characters) find their way in the end. It will hopefully come out in the fall."

The film is being shot in New Mexico and filming is expected to finish by the end of March.

New Album infos
Dammit guys, you didn't believe me when I told you I got infos from several Universal European offices and that the album was scheduled for a last quarter release, well, we now have the same info from a member of Mariah's staff
A fan was able to talk to Mark Sudack in London and got the following infos:
- The album title is not Illusions: The Butterfly Within (another lil' dumb ass who created rumors on Wikipedia)
- The album is not in a complete or near complete state. Mariah will be putting her full focus on it immediatly after completion of the Tennessee.
- If there are two albums this year, one will be the mainstream studio album and the second will be a Christmas one.
- The album will be released last quarter. Nothing until after September.
- He mentioned the DVD,  telling that it was still being considered, although it was one of the only topics he didn't seem as sure about.

Back-to-back, diva-to-diva

A-list celebrities kept away, when the world's two biggest hissy-fit throwers, Naomi Campbell and Mariah Carey were placed in the same room.
Only boutique staff and D-list celebrities were left quaking in their boots, in anticipation of the ultimate cat fight, when Naomi joined Mariah at the Pinko Boutique in Knightsbridge last night.
Carey, renown for her excessive dressing room demands and pre-performance strops, is in London as the new face of the Pinko fashion label.
Meanwhile Campbell has been ordered to attend an anger management course after pleading guilty to assaulting a staff member.
Luckily for on-lookers the night went smoothly, without the spoilt stars turning on each other.
Amazingly, their pulling power looked dwindled when only a clutch of D-list celebrities turned out for the launch, including Calum Best, Ronan Keating and T4's Steve Jones.
The two divas hit it off so well they ducked into the nearby San Lorenzo restaurant for a meal afterwards.

Once again, great article from Rashmi!!!!
Mariah Carey at Pinko
By Rashmi Shastri
Mariah Carey needs no introduction. She is an award-winning superstar with total sales of her records in excess of 165 million worldwide, making her the top-selling female artist in history. Leading Italian fashion house Pinko announced Mariah as the new face of their London inspired fashion brand.

The Pinko campaign featuring Carey was shot by photographer Michelangelo Di Battista and art directed by Giovanni Bianco. The images depict Carey in strong sultry poses wearing Pinko’s signature urban designs.

I was one of the few media and fashionistas to receive an invite to Pinko's cocktail party to celebrate the new campaign and their newly refurbished store on Brompton Road. The store was lit up and there were paparazzi and police surrounding the area, not to mention the many fans waiting outside in the cold to catch a glimpse of their idol. Inside the store was a different story, it was full of glamorous people sipping on the neverending glasses of pink champagne and cocktails, and waiters handing out canapees (tiny sized food to us little people). As time went on, more and more celebrities arrived including Kimberley Stewart, Calum Best, Duncan from Blue, Ronan and Yvonne Keating, Benny Medina (Mariah's manager) and JC Chasez (from 'N Sync).

Suddenly the cameras outside started clicking like crazy and I caught a sneaky peek at Naomi Campbell (a previous model for Pinko) outside posing with her new look hair style. Not long after, Mariah Carey herself joined her looking relaxed but she spoke little words. They entered Pinko together and the paparazzi took photos of them. Naomi went off to circulate while Mariah was whisked upstairs. The place was packed and everyone wanted to speak with her. Making our way back down the stairs was a mission and Benny Medina was looking a bit frustrated, he said "Why can't people think of waiting and not going down the stairs like everyone else?!" and then started bopping to a Mariah song.

After only about ten minutes, Mariah and her entourage made their way to the door. I was introduced to her by Michael Richardson and she autographed my invitation (bless her) which proves she never turns down autographs no matter how busy it is around her. Michael let me know where they were having dinner so I made my way there. San Lorenzo's on Beauchamp Place had paparazzi waiting outside already to take a few more shots after dinner. The restaurant was very cosy and they had their own big table on the top floor with candles scatting the surface. Benny Medina, Michael Richardson, Connie Filippello, Mark Sudack and Mariah were all there together and looked like they were having a grand old time. I said my goodbyes and went home while they went back to Claridge's. I finally met Mariah Carey, my favourite singer and most probably the most talented person I will ever meet.

Pictures and tidbits
Rashmi (music journalist) sent me infos, she was able to enter at the Pinko party and later saw Mariah and her staff at the San Lorenzo's at the dinner. When Mariah entered, paparazzi were clicking like mad. Mariah and Naomi Campbell posed for a picture with each other. Mariah wasn't in the store for long, maybe about 10 minutes. She didn't speak much. At the party, Rashmi spotted Naomi Campbell, Duncan (from Blue), JC Chasez, Ronan and Yvonne Keating. Later at the San Lorenzo's where they were having dinner, they ate by candlelight and then made their way back to Claridge's.

I’ve got thighs and buttocks — I’m never going to be a size zero
Mariah Carey, now the face of the Pinko label, reveals her stylistic highs and lows
After a difficult childhood, Mariah Carey, 37, began her musical career in her late teens. Her big break came when her demo tape was given to Tommy Mottola, then the head of Sony Music Entertainment. They married in 1993, and divorced five years later. She is the bestselling female artist in history, with record sales of more than 165 million worldwide. She has won five Grammy Awards and is the world’s richest female recording artist. Despite what she calls the “debacle” of her debut film, Glitter, she is shooting Tennessee in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with Lee Daniels, who produced Monster’s Ball. She flew to London this week to promote Pinko, a high-end, high-street label with which she fell in love after visiting its store in Capri.

You’re rumoured to have a serious walk-in closet.
I have four if you include storage. I live on three floors of a block in Tribeca, so I have space. There’s one for lingerie, a shoe closet I designed with the architect Mario Buatta, and a pretty area for clothes with moving wardrobes and a bunch of shelves where I do fittings with stylists. The closets are a big part of my life, but it’s a work environment, too. It sounds obsessive — and it is pretty fabulous. But when I was 17 I had to wear my mum’s shoes and my feet poked through them. It was a really snowy winter and I thought, “One day I’m going to have so many shoes”. The money thing was weird, like I went to bed poor and woke up rich.

How do you accentuate your best features?
I’m not sure I have best features. I had things I hated about myself. But I always believed in my voice and my music writing. At the start, I was offered $5,000 for my music rights and that was a fortune to me, but I knew enough about the business and my talent not to accept it. I would have ended up with nothing.

Worst fashion looks?
At the age of 12 I dyed my hair orange by mistake, and I shaved my eyebrows. You get a complex from that.

How much pressure does the industry put on everyone to look the same?
The industry doesn’t really know what it wants until it sees something successful and then tries to carbon-copy it. At the start of my career I didn’t see it as being about style; it was about talent. My mum was an opera singer and I'm privileged to have sung with Pavarotti. I hang out with a lot of singers and musicians — who aren’t size zero, so my body image is not part of that world.

What was with all the raunch?
People always said that I was raunchy, but how can I be raunchy? I’m eternally 12. The photographer David LaChapelle says I look like Mary Poppins. At the start I deliberately didn’t do bare midriffs because I wanted people to concentrate on my voice. I was being advised by people well into their forties on what was cool, and they wanted me to be wholesome and All-American, which I’m so not. My father’s black, my mother’s Irish-American, and the way I grew up was hardly The Brady Bunch .
But once they got the voice, I really had to push to wear things that were more revealing. It was probably because I was rebelling — I was married young and my husband was very specific about my look. I couldn’t even do my hair the way I wanted because he wanted it his way. I cannot believe now that I was married. When we got divorced I just wanted to have some fun.

Do you regret any outfit?
Many, oh so many. But if I tell you which ones, you’re gonna run them huge, right?

Hot date: what do you wear?
I haven’t really gone on many, believe it or not. But I’ll wear whatever I think is sexy — it doesn’t mean that I’m going to bed with that person.

High maintenance?
Completely. Everything about me is high maintenance, starting with the voice, which I look after like a child. I take a humidifier wherever I go and I sleep in a steam room to protect it. The TV in there is behind glass.
Then there’s the body, and my trainer, who is about the size of my pinkie finger, but she understands my body. I’m very muscular, so if I wear a wrong-shaped dress, people always think that I’ve gained weight. Actually I’ve stopped weighing myself. I’ve got thighs and buttocks and I’m never going to be a size zero. I like my curves. But I'm not gonna lie — if there’s a sample that’s a size two and I fit into it, I feel great. I don’t do enough gym. I don’t do facials because I have rosacea and having people poke at your face is not good for that. But I have home remedies: I make little packs of milk and ice to calm it down. I’m a beauty school dropout. I did 500 hours, so I can do my own make-up and hair. Now the hair is high maintenance. It’s really curly and can take hours.

Favourite designers?
That’s difficult. It’s more about favourite pieces. Today I’m in Gucci [camel poncho] and Alexander McQueen [but-ton-up black stiletto ankle boots] and these two rings from Van Cleef and Arpels [enormous diamond-encrust-ed butterflies, a tribute to her album Butterfly ]. It’s quite pared-down, mainly because I spilt something over myself and had to take off the blouse that I was wearing.

Is there anything you wouldn’t wear?
Flat shoes — they give me blisters. My babysitter used to laugh at me because when I was 12 I was always on tiptoe. I couldn’t walk flat. Even my trainer said to me, “Mariah, you canNOT wear flats” — and I’m like, but they’re Hermãs and they match my bikini. I guess I’m a heel girl. I can run in them. I could swim in them if necessary.

Would you ever contemplate cosmetic surgery?
I hope when I get to that stage there will be a cream. Botox? Well, we’re still not sure what’s in that stuff. I’m lucky — because of my ethnicity, I think that I’ll be able to live with the lines.

Are you for ageing gracefully or disgracefully?
What’s disgracefully?
I think ageing at all is just horrible.

Do you follow trends?
Not really, because I don’t read magazines — you see all these pictures of yourself getting bashed. My friends cut out the nice ones. I’m oblivious to the other stuff. The press has put me through the wringer, but at this point in my career, let’s be honest, it doesn’t really matter.

Only 60 people waiting for Mariah in front of Pinko London, I can't believe it....
Pop superstar Mariah Carey has made a flying visit to Britain to become the face of a London-inspired fashion brand.
The 36-year-old Grammy award-winning singer wore a pair of jeans which had a gold plate on the back and gold thread in the seams, specially designed for her by Italian-label Pinko.

Mariah, who was met by a crowd of around 30 photographers and members of the public outside the Pinko store in Knightsbridge, London, said: "It is really exciting. I have visited Pinko stores when I've visited Italy and any time I go shopping there I end up in a Pinko store."
The singer, who flew in from filming the independent move Tennessee in New Mexico, also waded into the Size Zero debate.

She said: "I don't think anyone should be banned from anything. There should not be a precedent. That cannot work if you are naturally a Size Zero. As long as it's not leading people to do harmful things to themselves to achieve that then it's fine."
Mariah follows in the footsteps of supermodels Elle Macpherson, Eva Herzigova and Naomi Campbell who have also been faces for Pinko.
The new campaign, which will be featured in 750 stores worldwide, was shot by renowned photographer Michelangelo Di Battista.

When Mariah, who had last visited Britain a year ago, left the Brompton Road store there was a crowd of around 60 people shouting her name and taking photos of her with mobile phones.

The specially made jeans she was wearing were estimated to be worth around £3,000. A similar design will be available in the Pinko stores.
Although there is no exact figure for Mariah's deal with Pinko, a spokeswoman said: "It's a very, very big deal."

Mariah to record the peace song on February the 19th.
International performers recorded Give Your Love on Monday night, which is part of World Peace One's call for world peace.
World Peace One is a non-profit charitable organization that stresses a world community in a peaceful existence. The recording session time will take three days,  the first-day recording was in Los Angeles.

According to World Peace One, Celine Dion will record the song in Las Vegas, and U2 will do it in Hawaii. Mariah Carey will also record it in New York on February 19 since she has a busy schedule doing a film. All the participating stars will record the song in various studios and send the demo to the producer to make up one song.

After the recording session, some performers are scheduled to participate in "A Call for an End to War" concert August 15. Organizers said the event should reach an audience of 3.5 billion worldwide through television, radio, Internet and cell phones.

Mariah So Pretty In Pinko
Leading Italian fashion house, Pinko recently hired Ms Mariah Carey to be the face of their London-inspired fashion brand.
Shot by big-boy photographer Michelangelo Di Battista, the photo campaign looks super-hot!
Doesn’t Mariah sell well? If the music ever slips, we’d definitely employ her to be a sales junior at RWD!
Anyway, not only the face, Mariah plays the gracious host this week when the Pinko peeps put on a party in West London to celebrate the collaboration. Of course, RWD have been invited, so we will give you the lowdown soon as on these very pages. To pick up Pinko clothing, head to Harrods, Selfridges or the Pinko storeat 161, Brompton Rd, London.

I slightly-related news, someone reminded us of a Mariah story from a few years back. Hungry one night, Carey decided she fancied a bagel so decided to pop to Brick Lane to pick one up. Not only going in herself, she waited in line with everyone else while they salted the beef (or whatever happens in bagel houses). See, she gets the diva tag, but having interviewed her, we think Miss Mariah is in fact very cool, pretty down to earth (well, for a popstress) and actually a very nice person. So there!

£7 million for Mariah!!!  Go girl
Mariah to front Pinko
By Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley
She missed out on a pair of Grammys but songbird Mariah Carey still has something to celebrate.
The curvy 36-year-old has signed a multimillion pound deal to be the face of glam Italian brand Pinko. Dozens of designers had battled it out to convince the immaculate diva to work with them but the singer eventually chose Pinko.
"Mariah is so excited," gushes an insider. "She's such a girly girl and loves Pinko clothes. She can't wait to get started with the fashion shoots. It's something she has always wanted to do."
It's believed that Mariah's deal will rival the estimated £7million Madonna received when she signed for Versace.
Mariah, the best-selling female artist of all time, jets into London this week for Pinko's glitzy launch party. And we'll be there to celebrate with her as her Fantasy comes true.
Can't wait!

Tsss, tsss, tsss Liz, check your sources...
Diva learns drawl
The very funny Mariah Carey, who signs her notes to me "The Diva Next Door," is down in Tennessee, appearing in a movie about two brothers on a road trip in search of their estranged dad.
Mariah learned a Southern accent for "Tennessee," the movie that includes Bernie Mac, James D'Arcy, Bill Sage, Chris Browning, Luce Rains and Gregory Peck's grandson, Ethan Peck. The director is Aaron Woodley, and the producer is my good friend Lee Daniels, who did such a masterful job helping Halle Berry win the Oscar for "MonSter's Ball."
This movie is being made "on a shoestring," so Mariah was asked to fly down to location in economy class. Those who knew her just about fainted, saying, "She'll never do that!"
Mariah had the last laugh. She did it. She bought out every seat in economy and flew alone in the economy cabin.

Heroes comment: Tsss, tsss, tsss Liz, check your sources...  If Lee Daniels is your buddy, you should know James D'Arcy, Bernie Mac aren't in the cast, so, if you don't have that right, can we trust you with your other infos???  And even if that plane story happend, where's the problem?

UK Press Release: International Superstar Mariah Carey "The New Face of Pinko"
08 February 2007, London: Today, leading Italian fashion house Pinko proudly announces global icon, Mariah Carey, as the new face of their London inspired fashion brand.

The Pinko campaign featuring Carey was shot by renowned photographer Michelangelo Di Battista and art directed by Giovanni Bianco. The striking images depict Carey in strong sultry poses wearing Pinko’s signature sassy, urban designs.

Mariah Carey said; "I’m really flattered to have been asked to be the new face of Pinko. I first discovered this spectacular fashion house while working in Italy, in my favourite place in the world, the Isle of Capri, while recording my latest CD ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’. I immediately became a huge fan of the brand, and I bought almost everything in the store. So as you can imagine, when I was approached about doing the Pinko campaign I was beyond excited. The clothes are so stylish and fun, and I’m really looking forward to our new venture together.”

Pietro Negra, Pinko’s president and founder said: “All our campaigns feature famously beautiful women, but this time we wanted not only a beautiful woman, but a musical artist, because music is the greatest channel of communication, it reaches across the generations, perfectly reflecting the Pinko brand’s goal: to design clothes for women of all ages.”

Mariah Carey joins an impressive roll call with previous faces of Pinko including elite supermodels Elle Macpherson, Eva Herzigova and Naomi Campbell. The latest campaign for Pinko launches in London, and can be seen throughout Pinko’s 750 stores worldwide, including a flagship store in London SW3 (Brompton Road 161) and shop in shops in Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols.

Do you want Mariah's legs???
Venus and Mariah Carey Auction Autographed Legs
Sixteen-Foot Replica of Mariah Carey's Famous Legs to be Auctioned on eBay, Proceeds to Benefit the Fresh Air Fund

Looking for the perfect Valentine's Day gift for that special someone? What about giving the gift of gorgeous legs? Today, Venus announced that it will partner with Mariah Carey to auction off an autographed replica of the female artist's legendary legs.
The legs will be up for bid on the popular auction site, eBay, from February 12th through February 21st with all proceeds benefiting The Fresh Air Fund, an independent, not-for-profit agency that has provided free summer vacations to more than 1.7 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. Fresh Air children visit volunteer host families in 13 Northeastern states or attend sleep-away camp. The centerpiece of The Fund's Career Awareness Program is Camp Mariah, named in honor of Board member/singer Mariah Carey for her dedication, support and commitment to Fresh Air youngsters. The auction can be viewed at eBay.
In May 2006, Carey was honored as the first ever Venus "Celebrity Legs of a Goddess" at a Radio City Music Hall ceremony where she unveiled the 16' legs. The event marked the beginning of the 2006 Venus "Legs of a Goddess" contest -- an annual search for the woman with the best legs in America. Hundreds of women participated in the competition, which coincided with select concert dates on Ms. Carey's The Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, The Hits, The Tour.
"I'm thrilled to be participating in this auction with Venus," said Mariah Carey. "I'm glad that the proceeds from the sale of my 'legs' will benefit underprivileged children, and a charity that is near and dear to me."
Enjoying one of the most extraordinary years of her entire career, Mariah Carey's 9-times platinum Island Def Jam Records album The Emancipation of Mimi captured three Grammy awards and recently passed its one-year anniversary on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. Mimi includes Mariah's 16th and 17th #1 career singles, "We Belong Together" and "Don't Forget About Us," respectively -- which tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley's 17 #1's. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits. Mimi has sold more than 9 million units worldwide to date, making it the biggest-selling album of 2005, and bringing Mariah's career sales to more than 160 million units world-wide.

I'm gonna be mean....
Tonight, I'll cross my fingers for Mary J. Blige, but not for the reason you may think about, I'm gonna cross the fingers for the same humiliation Mariah got last year, I'm still not over it.  It's not Mary's fault if Mariah only won 3 Grammies out of her 8 nominations, it's not Mary's fault if Mariah didn't get the honour to receive her Awards on tv.  3 Awards is better than nothing, I know all that, but I can't erase Mariah's expression when she lost the one who seemed to be so important for her.  So, I hope Mary doesn't get more than 3 and not the one she would like to have the most. Do I sound bitter?  Maybe..... I told you I was gonna be mean
OK, not that mean, good luck Mary.

Cox was asked to make a kind of "We Belong Together" for Mary J. Blige
Jimmy Iovine“ - the chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records - ”asking me if I can make a record for Mary in the same lane of ’We Belong Together.’ Something that can spark the kind of comeback that Mariah Carey had.“
Cox had been one of the writers on the Carey ballad, but, as he told Iovine on the phone, he wasn’t the producer. Atlanta’s Jermaine Dupri was.
”And to tell you the truth, I was kind of at my wit’s end about the whole ’We Belong Together’ thing. Not to sound cocky, because I’m not that kind of person at all, but with all that I’d done, people were still questioning my ability at that time. Because I had done so many records with Jermaine, I guess they were thinking Jermaine was basically carrying me. ? I had something to prove.“
So he accepted the offer, hung up with Iovine and rang his longtime collaborator, singer-songwriter Austin.
Instead of heading home, Cox drove straight to Midtown’s Doppler Studios and got to work. Fifteen minutes after he and his cousin Jason Perry started creating the dreamy, piano-centered music, he was done.
”It was the fastest track I ever made in my life,“ the 29-year-old recalled. ”There was so much frustration behind it. So much, ’Don’t ask me if I can make you a “We Belong Together!” Ask me if I can make a hit record for your artist!’ “

"Tennessee"
Melissa Benoist begins filming Wednesday in Albuquerque on the Mariah Carey film "Tennessee," with a scheduled return date of Feb. 23 - the same day she's slated to open "Footloose" at the Town Hall Arts Center. So director Nick Sugar is moving forward Jessica Hindsley in the bad-girl lead role, with Benoist joining the cast on the second weekend. "Everything is still basically unreal and moving fast," said Benoist. "I'm basically stoked that I get to do both."

Mariah at the Liberty Valentine's party?
London Fashion Week
Kate Moss, Madonna and even Mariah Carey are expected to line designers' front rows during London Fashion Week and no doubt Marc Jacobs' catwalk
show and store launch on Mayfair's Mount Street will pull in even more A-listers. The fashion press wait with baited breath to pounce on the next big thing from
Central Saint Martins when the graduate show takes place on Friday. Look out for stunning collections from man-of-the-moment Giles Deacon, and last year's
Fashion Fringe winner Gavin Douglas. Henry Holland also showcases his House of Holland collaboration with Kickers, Kick-HoH, which will be on the catwalk
at Fashion East - look out for his silver and black Kick-Hi boots adorning the feet of Peter Jensen's models, too. Off the catwalk, Oxford Circus looks to be
packed - crowds will be lining up outside Topshop ready to snap up the debut collection by New Generation winners Marios Schwab and Christopher Kane,
and on Valentine's night, Liberty will be equally packed for an enormous party to launch its Liberty of London Boutique.

Mariah in the UK for "Pinko"

Since yesterday, "Pinko" updated his website with Mariah images in the intro, English and Italian versions.

Let's hope this will definitely put an end to rumors and stupidity ...
Let's hope, if not medias and haters, at least some fans will now close their big mouth about Mariah's physical appearance.
Today, Belgian newspaper "Het Volk" talks about UK designer Jenny Packham who has also a wonderbra line, Mariah, Beyonce, Pink are listed among her clients.
I'll not explain how works that wonderbra, as I don't care about physical appearances and stupid rumors spread by misters "I know it all", but sometimes it's good to put some peoples' nose in their stupidity.  Click here to see how it works.

Also we have a new cast announced, Lance Reddick as Mister Evans (Krystal's husband). Even if it's not always reliable, take a look at IMDB for other casts.

Guys, read this, it's not directly Mariah related but......
Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, and now also Anna Nicole Smith! Requiem for (Hollywood's) tragic blondes
Anna Nicole Smith, dead at 39. After her tragic loss, just five months ago, Anna Nicole Smith, followed her son Daniel into death.
The authopsy report has not been released yet, but we all can be sure, that Anna Nicole, has killed herself--literally in front of all of us.
We watched her, almost daily now. And she became so familiar, to all of us, because she was a fighter, and she always did, what she wanted -- no matter what.
When my friends would make fun of her I would defend her and tell them, what they did not know what I knew about Anna Nicole.
What is life all about? She certainly must have asked herself this question, after she had her Surpreme Court triumph, and friends who celebrated her. She would be part of a parade of the West Hollywood gay pride. She would become her own parody. A loved one, too. She would throw kisses into the crowd, like she has seen Marilyn Monroe doing it -- in many documentuaries.
What is the fascination of all these starlets and singers, like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera and numerous other?! Do they want to die young, like or even before Marilyn's age at the time of her death. Which was sadly only 36. Anna Nicole Smith made it three more years, she died at only 39.
But more than anything else, Anna Nicole Smith's death should be proof for us, what really happened to Marilyn Monroe. She was literally left to die--and people would watch her. Hugh Hefner made sure immediately after the news broke, that everybody would know on how many Playboy covers Anna Nicole was featured (4). I learned about her death while having CNN headline news in the background, I could not believe it, and it was almost and instantly a deja vu feeling, like 10 years ago, when I was at a wedding party, and we learned, that Princess Diana had a crash, and died a bit later. Back then I thought that this must it have been, when the news spread about Marilyn Monroe's death. You will forever remember where you were that moment, and what you did. How do you measure the status of a celebrity? By the awards they got? By the news they made? Good or bad?! When Marilyn Monroe was fired by her own studio and on top of that sued, it must have caused a shocking reaction inside the sensitive moviestar and foster child. In Monroe's last interview, which lasted hours, the phone would hardly ring. People did not care for Marilyn Monroe. She was hated. But that would change, as soon as she was dead.
Money, all those multi millions of dollars, they would not, they could not save Anna Nicole Smith from her tragic end. We all must see this as a warning.
It was us, all of us -- who killed Marilyn Monroe and Anna Nicole Smith. Cause we simply did not care. We let these beautiful women die, without even trying to stop them. History has just repeated itself, unfortunately. I met Anna Nicole Smith several times, and she always had a smile. You could never all her a bit*ch at all. She made fun of herself. That was the refreshing part of her humor.

Rapper Jadakiss Pleads Not Guilty to Gun, Drug Charges in NY
Jadakiss, the rapper who wrote controversial lyrics about President Bush and the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on New York, has been indicted on gun and drug charges.
Using his real name of Jason Phillips, Jadakiss entered a not guilty plea Thursday to charges of possessing a loaded handgun and marijuana.
He was arrested Oct. 7 with three other men in his native Yonkers. Police said they stopped the car he was in after smelling marijuana and then found the gun.
The rapper's lawyer, Clement Patti, said, "I have yet to see or hear of any evidence connecting my client to possessing this weapon.'' He said Jadakiss was in the back seat and did not know there was a gun in the front console.
Jadakiss' most recent album was "Kiss of Death,'' and he had a hit single, "U Make Me Wanna,'' featuring Mariah Carey. His 2004 song "Why'' included lyrics asking "Why did Bush knock down the towers?'' He said later it meant the president had failed to stop terrorism.
If convicted on the gun charge in Westchester County Court, the maximum sentence Jadakiss would face is 16 months to seven years in prison. The law was toughened in November to provide a minimum sentence of 3 1/2 years.
Two of the other arrested men face similar charges. No indictment of the fourth was announced.

Mariah Vs Howard - The Voice Vs The Mouth
Those who only read the magazine for the articles were miffed at hearing about a layered lay-out, but add to the list of annoyed and angered one very vocal and vociferous voyeur, one king-of-all-media, Howard Stern.

However, it isn’t Mariah’s lack of nudity that’s twisting Stern, but instead it’s her pointed comments, blaming him for her mental breakdown in 2001: “Howard Stern had said a lot of mean stuff about me that morning, as he does about everybody every morning, and I think it really got to me. So I gained five pounds. It’s not the end of the freakin’ world. But I was exhausted, and I did collapse later. Then everybody blew it out of proportion.”

Now Howard, who along with Mariah, grew up on Long Island, NY, so you might think that when a girl with big hair comes complaining, he wouldn’t really take umbrage, but Howard has returned fire, and continues to comment. The last few days on his show, the man who broadcasts from space has demonstrated disgust with Mimi’s disparagement, stating plainly that he felt justified in describing what he thought of her body, and that any celebrity who freaks out over his words wasn’t that stable to start with.

He also claims she had called him on it, literally calling him and expressing outrage at someone she felt was a friend. Stern said they had met briefly in the past, but they hardly had a relationship. He says she was really aggravated, and he tried to play it off as “pulling pigtails” on a girl he couldn’t have, but she remained unhappy and the conversation didn’t end with any resolution. She has since stuck to her guns that the ‘Sirius’ star sent her to the loony bin.

Very interesting book featuring some stories related to Mariah
I began to read a very interesting book, if you guys want to know a lot of inside stories of former CBS Records boss Walter Yetnikoff, you need to read that book, it's not only interesting about the business part, it's written with humor.  If you can obtain the UK edition, it's uncensored.
From the mid-70s until the early 90s, Walter Yetnikof (former boss of Tommy Mottla) was the most powerful man in the music business.
In his book "Howling at The moon" he tells many, many stories, among them are a lot related to Tommy Mottola and Allen Grubman which he calls Twiddledee and Twiddledum.
Some stories feature Mariah's name, I'm not gonna type it all for copyright reason, but here are a few extracts:
- " Tommy Mottola former Hall and Oates" manager whom I had anointed my second in command, was standing there, practically in tears.  Tommy's a street guy, I'm partial to street guys, good with music but bad with business.  When it came to delicate corporate matters, he turned to mush.  These days his involvement with his new signing, 19 year old Mariah Carey, wasn't exactly helping his marriage.  Tommy was obsessed with Mariah."

- "Mottola was also tripping.  After a secret love affair with a Japanese super star singer on Sony, who was in fact Morita's goddaughter (note: Morita was the big boss of Sony Music Japan), he was also carrying on with his own super star signing, Mariah Carey, while divorcing his wife who called me to complain how he was screwing her financially.  With my approval, Mottola had put in place a management team of his own.  I'd thought he was the right guy to run Columbia Records.  Now I was slowly getting the idea that he was getting ready to run me out.  Every time Tommy came near my dog, a benign and gentle spirit, the dog would growl like the devil himself was approaching."

"1 Fan A Day" definitely scrapped?
Today, my fam N.O.R.E let me know he's leaving Def Jam due to lack of promotion for his work and start on his own.  We all (HipHop/ Rap fans) waited impatiently for that album since so long, remember the track "Friendz" featuring Mariah was on that album, I'll keep you updated if the track will appear on another album, which I higly doubt, due to copyrights on the masters.
Too bad some bosses spent the money for their own promotion and didn't support the real.

Tennessee update: Stars Come Out in Estancia
Lights, camera, action!
The Blue Ribbon Bar and Grill in Estancia was temporarily transformed late last week into a set for a movie starring Mariah Carey and Ethan Peck.
Trucks, vans and trailers lined Estancia's main street and the bar was closed off from outside view with plastic sheets as shots were filmed for "Tennessee."
"It's a film about two brothers who make a trip cross-country in search of their father who they've been estranged from," said Reid Rosefelt, a publicist for Lee Daniels Entertainment, the production company behind the film.
The movie's characters take a trip from New Mexico to Tennessee in search of their father, according to a synopsis for the film on the company's Web site. On the way, the brothers meet Krystal— played by Carey— "an aspiring singer who flees an unhappy marriage to join them on their journey," the synopsis says.
Daniel Ortiz, who owns the Blue Ribbon Bar and Grill, said film crews worked in his bar from about 10:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
"Last year ... (the) Sci Fi Channel shot a sequel here ... and one of the gentlemen that was a locations guy talked to me then and told me he thought they might be coming back a little later for another movie," Ortiz said.
Ortiz said about 16 to 18 people came to survey the location to make sure it was suitable for the film.
"I guess they kinda liked this old, western setting," Ortiz said.
The bar closed Feb. 1 so the film crew could use the space, Ortiz said.
Ortiz said the experience was a positive one and ended up with a special present for his daughter's birthday, which was also Feb. 1.
"We managed to get a couple of shots with Mariah and they talked for a while," Ortiz said.
Ortiz said the production company was also utilizing a local church for a set on Monday.

Willie Nelson is awesome. This is a fact we were reminded of when we learned that the certified American icon would be collaborating with Mariah Carey on an as-of-yet undisclosed song/film combo. New Division created for JD
Jermaine Dupri Named President of Island Records Urban Music
Jermaine Dupri, one of the industry's most consistently successful top-charted producers and songwriters, has been appointed president of Island Records Urban Music, a new division of the Island Def Jam Music Group, it was announced today by Antonio "L.A." Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group. As part of the arrangement, Mr. Dupri will oversee Island's entire urban music operation. In addition, he will produce artists on the IDJ roster, as well as provide his production services to the entire Universal Music Group family of labels.
In this newly created position, Mr. Dupri will report directly to Mr. Reid, and to Steve Bartels, President, Island Records/COO, Island Def Jam Music Group, on operational matters. Dupri will be based in Atlanta and New York.

"Jermaine's career has grown from strength to strength over the years," said Mr. Reid, "as a producer and songwriter and recording artist in his own right, as a respected label executive and entrepreneur, and as a highly esteemed developer of new talent. His deep ties to Atlanta's creative R&B and hip-hop community have been the springboard to working with the greatest names in contemporary music. This is a tremendous step forward for Island Records and its established roster of artists who will benefit enormously from Jermaine's presence."

"I'm so excited to be reunited with L.A. Reid because most of my biggest hits were when he and I worked together," said Mr. Dupri. "And then to be working side by side with Steve Bartels -- I don't think there's a better team because he's by far the best in the game. I can't wait for us to start stuntin' on y'all."

"I am thrilled that Jermaine has decided to join the Island Def Jam family," said Mr. Bartels. "Jermaine is a prestigious hitmaker as well as a production wizard. I personally look forward to helping be part of once again, adding to and continuing his illustrious legacy."

Jermaine Dupri is one of the preeminent figures in Urban Music today. He has written, produced, or mixed hit records for many of the industry's top artists. His long-distance run of hits with Usher, which began in 1997, culminated with 2004's string of "Burn," "Confessions Part II," and "My Boo" (a duet with Alicia Keys) which drove 8-times platinum sales of Usher's Confessions album, making it the best-selling album of the year.

Dupri is no stranger to the Island roster, having co-written and produced the Mariah Carey #1 hits "We Belong Together" (for which he shared the Grammy award for Best R&B Song), "Shake It Off," and "Don't Forget About Us." All three were from The Emancipation of Mimi, the #1 top-selling album of 2005. In addition to his collaborations with IDJ artists Jay-Z, Ludacris, and Lionel Richie, Dupri has turned out hits with Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, TLC, Run-DMC, Toni Braxton, Alicia Keyes, Nelly, Chingy, Janet Jackson, Monica, Aaliyah, Ciara, and many others.

Jermaine Dupri was 19 years old when he produced his first #1 record on the Billboard Hot 100, Kris Kross' 1992 single, "Jump." The 5-times platinum sales of the teen duo's debut album led to Dupri's founding of the So So Def label in 1993. He was quickly marked as one of the foremost young entrepreneurs driving the arrival of hip-hop as a central creative and commercial force in mainstream music. So So Def became known as an engine not only of hit records, but of artist development, as Dupri went on to sign and nurture the careers of many gold, platinum, and multi-platinum selling artists including Xscape, Da Brat, Jagged Edge, Lil' Bow Wow, Dem Franchize Boyz, J-Kwon, Youngbloodz, and Anthony Hamilton.

Jermaine Dupri Bounces Back With Island
The Universal Music Group will tomorrow (Feb. 7) announce Jermaine Dupri as president of urban music for Island Records, sources confirm to Billboard.com.

Dupri stepped down as president of urban music at Virgin in October 2006. At Virgin he was responsible for signing Dem Franchize Boyz and pacted with OutKast member Big Boi's Purple Ribbon imprint. Dupri exited Virgin following lackluster sales of his girlfriend Janet Jackson's latest disc, "20 Y.O," which Dupri co-executive produced.

As a producer, he's helmed hits for Usher, Mariah Carey and TLC, among many others.

Playboy Magazine: Mariah Carey, A Revealing 20Q
Do you know who has had the most number one songs on the Billboard Hot 100? Sure, the Beatles. Do you know who is second on that list and could match them this year? Mariah Carey, who has been on fire since she first broke out in the 1990s, just turned up the heat by striking a pose before the lens of famed photographers Markus Klinko and Indrani for our cover. In 20Q Carey welcomes you into her bedroom. "It was cool. She scheduled me for late at night, and we didn't get on the phone until 10 o'clock," interviewer Jason Buhrmester says. "She went up to her penthouse, shut the door and climbed into bed with a glass of warm milk and Frangelico. We talked for hours. It reminded me of being in high school and staying on the phone with a girl all night. I think the interview has a very intimate feel."

Mariah Carey
Our sexy cover girl with the big voice reveals all about that tiff with Eminem, acting goofy on MTV, her wardrobe malfunction and why, at heart, she's really a prude by Jason Buhrmester

Q1
Playboy: On the song "Get Your Number" from your album The Emancipation of Mimi, you sing about picking up a guy at a club and taking him home. Is that something you would ever do?
Carey: No. Here's the problem with me -- well, one of them. [laughs] I can be flirtatious when I don't mean to be. Let's say we are at a club, me and some friends, and we're hanging out with guys. If I'm sitting there and a song I like comes on, because I'm a singer, I start moving. It's just what I do. I don't realize I'm sitting there doing a video in somebody's face. I end up being very flirtatious, and people take it the wrong way. I'm very much a prude. But I don't want to disappoint people, so maybe we shouldn't discuss that.

Q2
Playboy: But on the song "Say Somethin'" you sing, "I'm over here looking at you/You're over there watching me too/Both painting pictures of how we'll kiss and f***." That doesn't sound prudish to us.
Carey: I didn't say that! There's an f and a few squiggly little letters. [laughs] And that was the producer Pharrell's idea. He just wanted to shock everybody. I was like, "All right, Pharrell, if this will make you happy." That was one of those little sexy moments.

Q3
Playboy: Last year you clashed with Eminem after he claimed the two of you had been romantically involved. Then he reportedly sent you a letter of apology. What did it say?
Carey: Something is clearly askew with him, and I'm not quite sure what it is. I just heard something else he recently said about me. I'm curious as to why he's so obsessed with me. I never got an apology letter, by the way; I don't know what they're talking about. Then again, I wasn't exactly searching my mailbox for it.

Q4
Playboy: Your mother is Irish American and your father was African American and Venezuelan. When did you realize being biracial made you different?
Carey: When I was in kindergarten. Our assignment was to draw our family. The two kindergarten teachers were really young. I don't think they meant any harm, but they were looking over my shoulder and giggling because I drew my family the way I saw them. My mom was peach, my brother and sister and I were in the middle somewhere, and my father was brown. They said to me, "You made a mistake, Mariah." I said, "No, that's my father. That's what he looks like." They didn't believe me. It was as though I'd taken a green crayon and made him green. All of a sudden they stopped laughing because I was confused and upset. Their laughter kind of trickled off, and they walked away and started whispering. They never looked at me the same way again.

Q5
Playboy: On "I Wish You Knew" you sing about having an inferiority complex. What makes you shy?
Carey: I think I have an all-around inferiority complex from growing up biracial and feeling as if I didn't fit in. I didn't feel pretty as a little girl. The entertainment business is an extension of high school, so I'm still my own little class clown. Maybe I overcompensate by having a big personality. I'm usually pretty boisterous now.

Q6
Playboy: How old were you when you started singing?
Carey: I was four. My mom used to sing with the New York City Opera. She made her debut at Lincoln Center and had gone to Juilliard. I think by the time I came around she wasn't singing professionally, but she still practiced here and there. She tells the story of when she was doing the opera Rigoletto, and at one point I corrected her because she'd made a mistake. That's when she realized I had a good ear.

Q7
Playboy: At what point did you know you wanted to make singing your career?
Carey: From the point I knew one could have a career, I knew it was what I wanted to do. I wanted to be either a singer or a genie. [laughs] When I realized that being a genie wasn't an actual option, I went with singing.

Q8
Playboy: How did you start your career in music?
Carey: When I was little I auditioned for Annie. I wanted to be in Annie because it was the big show on Broadway. I was too tall, but I'm kind of thinking I was too ethnic as well. [laughs] I auditioned with a black wig. Even the wig color wasn't right which is weird because my nana on my father's side had a penchant for red wigs. I probably could have borrowed one of hers, but nobody thought of it.

Q9
Playboy: If American Idol had existed when you were young, would you have auditioned?
Carey: Remember Star Search? That was around, and I didn't audition for it. I didn't think it was for me. I know everybody thinks I'm the poster child for American Idol, but I was really shy when I first came out as a performer. My mother wasn't a stage mom. She was more of a hippie.

Q10
Playboy: Randy Jackson from American Idol has worked as your director for several years. Did you ever imagine he'd be a star?
Carey: Randy Jackson -- well, now we have to call him Randy Jackson of American Idol -- had worked with me since my first record. I've known him for so long, and now he's a huge star. It's just weird to me. We'll get mobbed walking down the street. You know how the band is introduced at a show? My little joke used to be that he was Michael Jackson's brother, and the crowd would believe me and go crazy.

Q11
Playboy: You have a lot of wardrobe changes during your show. Have you ever had a malfunction?
Carey: Oh please, there have been so many. [laughs] On this tour there was a really bad malfunction when my top popped open. It was this little top with a hook and eye on the front. It was a nightmare. The top was so tight that night because we girls have moments when the top might be tighter, but I caught it, and that's how you know a pro. I had to continue singing as well. So the microphone was in one hand, and with the other hand I scooped the upper region together and kept singing the words, "Stop the track! Stop the track! Stop it!" They did not understand. I had to go back and come out in a fabulous dress and tell the crowd, "Guys, I'm sorry, but we would have had a major malfunction, and I'm not going to be the one responsible for that happening."

Q12
Playboy: What would we have heard on the demo that got you signed?
Carey: I think it sounded really good, actually, I always wanted to work. I would record and write all night and then go to school. I was on my own. I was in high school, and I would drive into the city and try to drive home and always get lost. I'd wind up in the Bronx or somewhere in Queens, not knowing where I was going at all. I don't have any sense of direction.

Q13
Playboy: You were a backup singer for Brenda K. Starr when she gave your demo to Tommy Mottola from Sony Music Entertainment. How did that happen?
Carey: I was pretty broke. I was working for Brenda, but that was an on-again, off-again thing. In the winter when I didn't have a coat, she and her mom brought me a winter coat and some food. They felt bad for me. I was this girl who would sing and write songs. At one point Brenda asked me if I wanted her to record some of the songs from my demo, but I said, "No, I'm going to be recording these songs." I always believed I was going to do this. There was never a lack of faith or determination or belief in myself. When Tommy Mottola first saw me, he was like, "Who's that?" Brenda told him I was a backup singer and her friend and gave him my tape. I'll never forget that moment. It was one of the destined-to-be moments, like from an after-school special.

Q14
Playboy: Mottola signed you to Sony, and you two later married but then divorced after four years, which led to struggles with your record label. What was going on?
Carey: Well, let's face it, as the professional relationship turned into a personal one, it all became a complete and total mess. When we met I didn't know he was married. I didn't know he had kids. I didn't know the folklore about him. People would tell me stuff and then be like, "Oops! You didn't know that?" It was weird. Once I became a celebrity, Tommy decided we were going to live in the boondocks. In a way it protected me, but then it got to be too much protection. I guess because I grew up in a pretty dysfunctional environment I allowed myself to deal with things most people wouldn't. My tolerance level for dysfunction was really high. I refer to the home we shared as Sing Sing because all I did was sing, sing, sing. It really wasn't a stone groove, as I would say. [laughs] I think I would have still been in the relationship because that's the way I am as far as loyalty. I would have remained in that relationship had it been one inch less confining. Even though I was miserable in my personal life, I lived vicariously through the girl on TV wearing Pumas and jean shorts and a flannel.

Q15
Playboy: Where is your wedding ring now?
Carey: It somehow miraculously became earrings. Then I lost them. I lost them in Amsterdam, no less.

Q16
Playboy: In 2001 it was reported that you had suffered an emotional breakdown. What really happened?
Carey: What happened was that people made a big deal of when my old publicist pulled the microphone out of my hand because I was venting about Howard Stern. [laughs] No one knew it, actually. Howard Stern had said a lot of mean stuff about me that morning, as he does about everybody every morning, and I think it really got to me. I handle him pretty well, but that particular day it was about how I looked fat. Calm down. So I gained five pounds. It's not the end of the freakin' world. Maybe what he was talking about was relevant; maybe it was time to lose a few pounds. But I was exhausted, and I did collapse later. Then everybody blew it out of proportion.

Q17
Playboy: A big deal was made of the messages you recorded for your website and an appearance on TRL during which you handed our Popsicles and performed a brief striptease.
Carey: I thought it was strange that the legitimate press talked about TRL and things geared toward 14-year-old kids. Come on -- I've been on MTV, having food fights and doing stupid stuff for I don't even know how long. That's what it's about. It's not about taking oneself seriously. It's not a Barbara Walters moment. It's not Larry King or Charlie Rose. It was amazing to me how things got blown out of proportion because there was nothing else to talk about. And then my movie Glitter was such a bomb, but no one ever pointed out that it came out around September 11, 2001.

Q18
Playboy: When was the last time you watched Glitter?
Carey: I try not to. I try to avoid it. Actually, I don't mind it. There are moments that make me laugh, and I don't care. I was fortunate to do Wisegirls right after that, with Mira Sorvino. A lot of people didn't see it, but it received a standing ovation at Sundance and did very well critically. It was an amazing experience for me because I got to play a character role. I did a lot of ad-libbing and worked with an Academy Award-winning actress.

Q19
Playboy: You bought Marilyn Monroe's childhood piano for more than $600,000. What made you want it?
Carey: I had to fight for it. It was pretty cool. I'd never done any type of bidding on anything before. My world-famous decorator was on the phone, asking me how high I wanted to go, and I kept telling him, "I have to have this piano!" That piano is a symbolic thing. In Marilyn's autobiography there is a chapter called "How I Rescued a White Piano." It was the only thing she had from her childhood. I know it was expensive, but it was important to me. It's in my will that if anything should happen to me, the piano goes to a museum, which is where I think it should have gone in the first place.

Q20
Playboy: This year you'll have your star added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. If you could rearrange the stars, whose would you like yours to be next to?
Carey: You mean I can't move them all around? Come on! I'm going to request a reshuffling, then we can talk about it.

A big success for the "Diva CD" collection with Belgian newspaper "Het Laatste Nieuws"
Many stores went out of stock this Saturday and needed to order back the "Greatest Hits" CDs which were sold at 5,90 Euro with a newspaper.  A lot of stores didn't order many copies as the 2 first two CD's of the collection (Céline Dion and Anastacia) weren't that successful, but they were surprised by the high request for Mariah's one.
A store in the city center of Brussels sold his 50 copies in less than 1 hour Saturday morning.

In reply to The Voice columnist Tony Sewell's article from last week in which he accused Mariah of using her mixed race, great Mariah fan Monica sent him her thoughts.....
It's not her fault Mariah is biracial
What an ignorant article. So basically Mariah is being accused of being manipulative simply because she appeals to many different people.

As she stated, it is not her fault that she looks the way she does. She didn’t choose to be biracial, or her skin's colour, as none of us did... and if her light skin is what attracts others to her, then they are the one’s with the issues, not her.

I just hate that people act as if her being biracial was a strategic move on her part. Mariah isn't taking advantage of anything. Her sales have done nothing but decline since she became more ‘black’ (as foolishly stated in this article), but guess what... she's still doing hip-hop and R&B music a decade later even though she is criticised for it.

And really, I bet she'd be selling loads more if she were doing conservative pop music!

Both as a black person and fan of Mariah, it annoys and saddens me how people react to Mariah as if she's trying to be some black poser just because she has refused to conform to the stereotypes of black or white culture.

She doesn't wear braids like Alicia Keys, she isn't a great dancer like Mya, doesn't have a big ass, etc...nor does she associate with white people exclusively or succumb to conservative standards like Celine Dion.

Sometimes I think the skin colour thing is just a cop-out because I've seen many people who are fully black that are just as light as Mariah...one of them is my mother.

The bigger issue is: the fact that Mariah hasn't ‘chosen’ makes people uncomfortable because they can't put her in a box. They think just because she doesn't act like a stereotypical black or white person, that she must just be using her biracial heritage to get ahead.

A Mariah fan banned from a pub.....
Southampton (UK) fans, go on the Gordon Arms pub and play a Mariah song
Pub bars Jeff for playing her hit 20 TIMES a night
Mariah Carey fan Jeff Donovan has been barred from his local pub for playing her songs on the jukebox 20 times a day.
For six years Jeff's constant barrage of her hits - including All I Want for Christmas which he played all year round - tormented other regulars and landlord Roy Dann.

Jeff, 35, who is single, said: "I love Mariah and listen to her over and over again, but other people obviously didn't share my musical taste.

"At the start when the landlord threatened to bar me I thought he was joking. All my mates drink there. I'm gutted. I don't want to find another local, I like this one."
The chef added: "I've tried appealing to Roy to let me back in, but he's adamant I am barred for life."

Roy, 32, of the Gordon Arms in Southampton, said: "To start with we found it amusing. I actually used to like Mariah before. But the other customers just had enough of listening to the same songs over and over again.
"I gave him plenty of warnings but he just laughed and told me the customer is always right.
"All the regulars used to whinge at him to stop, but he wouldn't listen and never put any other songs on.
"I don't care what he says now, he's not coming back into my pub."

A few CD's, it's all what left for this deported man
If you feel it, read the sad story of this Cambodian refugee who was expulsed from the US, among the few CD's he brought with him in the land his family once fled, there's a Mariah CD.
"I want to get depressed, I just pull these out," he said, retrieving four scratched and grimy CD cases: Dr. Dre, Mariah Carey, a hip-hop mix and Journey.
He doesn't play them too often because it's like opening a wound.

Less Mariah in Europe?..... after the UK, it's now France's turn
Remember 2 weeks ago I posted an article from the UK's Daily Express which pointed out labels will be cutting in the artists promotion costs to spare more.
Today, it's French newspaper "Le Monde" which talks about the good results for local artists and the fact labels don't really need to spend a lot of money for foreign artists when the ones you have in your own country cost less for promotion.  Here's the quote I translated about Mariah, you will notice how they use "a Mariah Carey" instead of "Mariah Carey", I guess the person who wrote the article doesn't like Mariah, she could have picked other artists too:
"Major labels find developping local artists brings more profit.  When you make come a Mariah Carey for promotion in Paris, it costs a fortune and many worries for a sometimes deceived investment.  Why do it when we have local artists?"

Marc Bouwer follows Mariah's steps

Marc Bouwer has dressed many celebrities like Mariah, Angelina Jolie, Paris Hilton, Shania Twain, to name a few.  His designs are seen around the world at many important events like the Golden Globes, Academy Awards, etc...
He now has announced that he is banning all fur, wool, leather from his upcoming collection to protest against the cruelty towards animals after he saw what animals go through before becoming fur coats.
If only more people would follow these steps.... when you think Jay-Z's "faux fur" jacket from his Rocawear line was sent for lab testing to find out exactly what animal the fur really belonged to. The test showed that the fur was taken from raccoon dogs.  Wanna see video of a raccoon dog skinned alive for fur, but warning, I couldn't watch it myself 'til the end.....click here.
Mariah sweetie, you need to talk to Jay-Z....

Mariah already fought to reclaim her name
Like Other Celebrities, Artist Ken Danby Wins Fight for his Own Name
Celebrated Canadian artist, Ken Danby, one of the world's renowned realist painters, has finally acquired ownership of his dot-com website domain name, www.kendanby.com, after 10 years of contention, frustration, and thousands of dollars in legal fees. When he first tried to register his name as a dot-com address in 1996, he was astonished to learn that it was already owned by an infamous cyber squatter, Jeff Burgar, of High Prairie, Alberta, who had also registered dot-com names for Hollywood VIPs, such as, Tom Cruise, Celine Dion, Pierce Brosnan, John Travolta, Mariah Carey, Kevin Spacey, Bruce Springsteen, Pamela Anderson, (all of whom chose to fight to reclaim their names), and many others.

In Playboy, Mariah bares her soul about Eminem
Mariah Carey looks so steamy in the March issue of Playboy, she might even be hotter than Eminem's head. "Something is clearly askew with him," Carey tells the mag, "and I'm not quite sure what it is."

The pair clashed last year when Carey - who doesn't take it all off for Playboy but still shows a Mimi-licious amount of skin - denied she'd ever had a relationship with the "Slim Shady" rapper.

He retaliated, calling her a liar on the air and in some mighty foul lyrics on his December 2006 release, "The Re-Up."

"I just heard something else he recently said about me," Carey says. "I'm curious as to why he's so obsessed with me. I never got an apology letter, by the way. ... Then, again, I wasn't exactly searching my mailbox for it."
