The picture on the cover is the one from Cosmo Girl where she's lying down. And in the magazine, in the table of contents, they used one of the V-magazine (I think, could have been from another magazine, the pics taken by Karl Lagerfeld) pictures. The article is 5 pages long, and contains another one of those Karl Lagerfeld pictures, and the same picture as on the cover, and also a small pic of her with donatella versace, one from live aid with paul mccartney on stage and one of her from March last year in the white outfit with the white dog. Visual effects and animation company Quiet Man (www.quietman.com) recently completed work on a new spot for BBDO and client Pepsi featuring pop diva Mariah Carey. The commercial is part of the Pepsi Cool Tones & Motorola Phones promotion in which one in three Pepsi drinkers will win a ring tone featuring music from some of today’s top artists. Restaurant takes place in a sleek eatery, where a young couple is enjoying their meal. The man’s cell phone rings, interrupting their dinner and the energy from a Mariah Carey video - complete with singers, dancers and a motorcycle jump - nearly wrecks the place. The tag line directs viewers to the “pepsismash.com” site, where they can find out more about the promotion. ? Quiet Man retouched nearly every frame of the commercial, removing wires from the scenes and adding CGI fireworks to the finale, which also incorporated practical, on-set effects. Mariah revèle quelques infos à propos du Tour Mariah avoue avoir pris le temps de savourer son succès avant de prendre la route pour un Tour. Elle veut célébrer l'un des plus grands moments de sa carrière par le Tour. Lorsqu'elle a parlé auparavant d'invités spéciaux, elle réfère à la façon dont a été enregistré l'album, être dans le studio et soudainement dans la pièce adjacente un autre artiste enrégistre aussi et finalement ils enrégistrent ensemble (ce qui s'est passé avec Snoop). Mariah dit que lors de son Tour, si elle se trouve dans une ville où se trouve quelqu'un avec qui elle a collaboré par le passé, il se pourrait qu'ils montent sur scène ensemble. Mariah révèle aussi que lorsqu'elle va à un concert de quelqu'un dont elle est fan et qu'elle n'entend pas sa chanson favorite elle est déçue, elle s'efforcera donc d'essayer de plaire au plus de monde possible. | Sean Paul joins Mariah Carey tour
In what is already proving a busy summer, hitmaking DJ Sean Paul will be touring with R&B superstar Mariah Carey on her Adventures of Mimi tour. The tour, the singer's first in three years, will make stops at major arenas across the US. Sean Paul joins the tour on Monday, August 7, in Tampa Florida, and will be the supporting act for the next five weeks. Tickets for that date go on sale as of Friday, June 2. Mariah Carey is tapping a longtime friend — American Idol judge Randy Jackson — to help her mix things up a bit on her Adventures of Mimi tour, which kicks off in August. "With this tour, I'm going to be working on some different arrangements for some of the older songs, to kind of like, give it a little more life to them," Carey recently told the Associated Press. "That's not to say they're going to sound totally different and to freak anybody out ... (but) I love re-singing songs to different music." Carey and Jackson have been meeting to discuss how she'll spice up some of her old hits, and Jackson might even join her on a few dates. | No Tour planned in Europe at the moment
As all the announcements on the tour only mentioned North America so far, Honey and Kate from Butterflies Are Free asked Universal Germany if there's any information about a tour in Germany. Sadly so far, the German label hasn't received any info about a tour neither in Germany, nor in Europe. She's won five Grammys and gone platinum several times over. But there's one thing Mariah Carey hasn't done -- played a concert in Albany. That's going to change on Sept. 2 when Carey brings her "Adventures of Mimi" tour to the Pepsi Arena. Arena officials made the announcement Tuesday morning. Over the past year, Carey has staged an amazing comeback, selling more than six million copies of her latest album. This won't be the first time Carey has been to the Capital Region. Proctor's Theatre in Schenectady was chosen as the site for her first concert special in 1993, and the theatre is featured in the video for her hit "Hero." Tickets for the Pepsi Arena concert go on sale June 2. Prices range from $20 to $155. | Mariah Carey Plots Mimi's Touring Adventure
Now that Mimi's been emancipated for a while, she's ready to have a little adventure — so Mariah Carey's taking her on one, launching her first full-scale North American arena tour, which she's calling The Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, the Hits, the Tour. "My summer tour is what I'm gearing up for next," Carey said. "I'm really excited about it." Carey has played U.S. arenas before, but she usually peppers her tours with smaller theater dates as well. Not this time. Carey has also allotted a break between each date to recover on her first tour since 2003. "As a singer, I need a certain amount of vocal rest, where I just don't talk before I do a show," Carey explained. "On tour it's like really hardcore singing moments and then resting." Some of those hardcore singing moments on this tour will be within songs from her six-times-platinum "The Emancipation of Mimi" album, but Carey is also planning to revisit hits and deep album cuts from her 15-year catalog, including "Vision of Love," "My All," and "Close My Eyes." She's also considering including one of the 25 ringtones she recently wrote and produced for Pepsi, so that she can show off her "creative tangents." "A friend of mind was over and we were going through different concepts for the tour, and he said, 'You should do one of the ringtones!' " she laughed. "So I'm actually thinking about doing the one we're doing the commercial for," called "Time of Your Life." Opening the two-month trek for the first half will be Sean Paul, while other "surprise" guests remain to be announced. The tour launches August 5 in Miami and wraps October 10 in Phoenix. Tickets go on sale June 2, and despite Carey's reputation as a diva, the prices are comparatively affordable, in the $20-$155 range. "People ask me, 'Why don't you just go on tour and charge huge amounts of money? Do these small venues, but charge thousands and thousands of dollars to go in,' " Carey previously explained. "Because I have fans of all different ages and different money ranges, and they can't afford to go out and spend that kind of money. Not everybody has a budget to go out and go really high-end." Now that Mimi has gotten her act together, she's taking it on the road. Having re-established herself at the top of the pop heap last year with her six-times-platinum The Emancipation of Mimi, Mariah Carey is launching her first U.S. tour since 2003. Called The Adventures of Mimi, it will kick off Aug. 5 in Miami and take the star to more than 30 cities. (Sean Paul will open a number of shows.) "I've always associated going to a show with summer, and the sense of freedom that evokes," Carey says. "Summertime is the best time for tours, I think. Not that I'm the queen of touring." The singer has indeed hardly been a constant fixture on the concert circuit. She says, "I need a day and a half of complete vocal rest between shows," which makes tour logistics tricky. Before recording Emancipation, Carey "was on tour for a while, taking two days off between shows, which left me in a great place vocally. And now, because I'm at a really good place in my life and career, I want to document it." Carey will, in fact, be filming the journey, for which she'll even use a tour bus. "I had a small one in Europe, but I didn't sleep on it or anything. Someone, I won't say who, told me, 'The bathroom may be a little small for you.' " Though she jokes about "my reputation as a diva," Carey is keen that her Adventures bring her closer to the audience. "I know that my fans already understand who I am. Sometimes I think they get me more than I get myself. But I want everyone who sees these shows to get a better understanding of me, my personal side, by the time they leave." To that end, the star will mix hits from Emancipation and previous albums with deeper cuts. "There's a song Close My Eyes from Butterfly, and girls have told me that it helped save their lives after abusive childhoods and relationships. I want there to be intimate moments — not a woe-is-me thing, but a chance for people to recognize that we've all been through things, and we can connect through music." She won't disappoint the faithful. "I know people want to hear certain songs, and would be disappointed if I sang, say, Vision of Love and didn't give it my all — no pun intended, because My All will also be on the set list." And don't be surprised if some of Carey's hip-hop collaborators show up as special guests. "It depends on who's in town and available, but there are artists I have enough of a relationship with — Jermaine Dupri, Busta Rhymes. When I'm in L.A., maybe Snoop will be around." Mariah's "Dinners with the Mafia" Pop singer Mariah Carey has been linked to the latest mob scandal to rock America. An undercover agent has claimed in court that Mariah and her ex-husband, Sony Records chief Tommy Mottola, used to wine and dine with a leading Mafia boss. FBI agent Joaquin Manuel Garcia has been dubbed the modern Donnie Brasco after infiltrating the New York mobs. He fooled gangsters into thinking he was Goodfella wannabe Jack Falcone. Garcia claims Greg DePalma, a 74-year-old alleged acting capo for New York's feared Gambino family, brought him into the mob. He said DePalma bragged about his dinners with Mariah and Mottola at Valbella restaurant, a five-star eatery in Greenwich, Connecticut, which the mob were allegedly shaking down for protection money. On the secretly recorded tape, DePalma described Carey as "very nice, very quiet, reserved". A mob informant, Peter Forchetti, then chimed in: "She looks nice now. She looks unbelievable." DePalma bragged that he forced the restaurant boss to let another mobster dine for free -the bill included an $11,000 bottle of Chateau Lafitte. He also boasted that he forced the restaurateur to give him seven bottles of equally expensive wine for his doctor. Garcia is being compared to Donnie Brasco, the former FBI agent who infiltrated the mob and became the subject of a 1997 movie starring Johnny Depp. He is testifying in a closed Manhattan federal courtroom against DePalma, who is charged with racketeering. A spokesman for Mottola denied that he had ever met the accused mobster. A spokesman for Carey did not return calls. The trial continues. Snoop Dogg banned from The UK for life The ones who read the HipHop, Rap, RnB crib on our forum, know Snoop was arrested after a fracas at Heathrow Airport that injured seven police officers end April. A few days ago, we knew he was banned from future travel on British Airways for life. Today, here's what Yahoo! Music UK reports: Snoop Dogg has been banned from ever again entering the UK following his recent arrest after a fracas at Heathrow Airport, it has been claimed. The rap superstar was cautioned by police last week, after an incident in the first-class lounge of British Airways in April, in which his entourage clashed with police. Seven officers are believed to have been injured in the clashes, which prompted the caution and resulted in Snoop being banned from flying British Airways for life. However, it has now been claimed that because of his criminal record in the US, Snoop, who has been convicted of drug and gun offences, will not be allowed back into the UK. A 'source' told a UK newspaper that Snoop will lose millions in live revenue because of the ban. He explained: "The Home Office is taking a tough line on him. Apparently there's some bad blood between multi-octave divas Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey. According to Access Hollywood, the war of words started when Aguilera said that Carey was "never cool to me" in the June issue of GQ. "One time, we were at a party and I think she got really drunk, and she had just really derogatory things to say to me," Aguilera told the magazine. "But it was at that time that she had that breakdown, so she might have been very medicated." (In 2001, Carey was hospitalized for exhaustion after several bizarre public appearances, including a near-striptease on MTV's TRL.) In response to Aguilera's comments, Carey told Access Hollywood, "I had hoped that Christina was in a better place now than the last time I saw her, when she showed up uninvited at one of my parties and displayed questionable behavior. "It is sad yet predictable that she would use my name at this time to reinvent past incidents for her promotional gain," Carey added. "It is in my heart to forgive and I will keep her in my prayers." Aguilera, whose new album, Back to Basics, is due Aug. 15, seems ready for a truce. "I do not want any bad energy with anyone," she told Access when contacted for comment. "My intentions were not to upset Mariah with any statements that were published or taken out of context. I have all the respect in the world for her." DJ Tracy Yong reveals the following on her website: "One of my biggest right now is my work with Mariah Carey. We’re currently getting "Fly Like A Bird" ready for the dance floors and for now you will be able to hear the remix in my sets. To work with someone as talented as Mariah is, without a doubt, an incredibly great experience." Also, Maurice Joshua confirms that he indeed has completed work on "Fly Like A Bird" remix. The remix has recently been sent back to Mariah so she can re-record vocals to finish the project.
